Sehr tiefer Wasserstand. Nicht besonders rutschig. So verliert die Schlucht einen Teil ihrer Ernsthaftigkeit. Achtung!: Beim 67m Abseiler hat es einen robusten Kettenstand. Aber das Maillon zum Abseilen ist sehr groß. Es ist so groß, dass der 8er durchrutschen könnte, für den Fall, dass er nicht rückgesichert wird. Für den letzten der Gruppe geht das aber logischerweise nicht. Ich erachte diese Situation als Risiko.
Very low water level. Not particularly slippery. This makes the canyon seem a little less daunting. Caution!: The 67-meter rappel has a sturdy chain anchor. But the maillon used for rappelling is very large. It’s so large that the #8 could slip through if it isn’t backed up. Logically, though, that’s not possible for the last person in the group. I consider this situation a risk.

Schöner kleiner Canyon. Guter Wasserstand. Gar nichts rutschig. Haken im eco. Modus. Keiner zu viel. Keine Doppelhaken. Dort wo es einen Haken braucht, dort hat es einen. Dort wo es keinen hat gibt es was zu improvisieren. Abseilen an Holz, abseilen über einen passenden Klemmblock oder abklettern. Die vorhandenen Haken sind jedoch neueren Datums und in gutem Zustand. Beim Zustieg war es oben noch ruhig, als wir das Auto abholten war der Schiessstand in Betrieb.
Nice little canyon. Good water level. Not slippery at all. Anchors in eco mode. Not one too many. No duplicate anchors. Where you need an anchor, there’s one. Where there isn’t one, you have to improvise. Rappel down a log, rappel over a suitable clamping block, or downclimb. The existing anchors, however, are relatively new and in good condition. It was still quiet at the top during access, but by the time we picked up the car, the shooting range was in operation.

Im oberen Teil hat es etwas mehr Wasser. Unten, nach der Wasserfassung deutlich weniger. Spass macht es trotzdem. Im oberen und unteren eingeschnittenen Teil ist es kaum rutschig. In der Mitte, dort wo es mehr Sonnenlicht hat sind die nassen Steine von rutschigen Algen bewachsen. Alle Haken und Insallationen sind o.k.
There’s a bit more water in the upper section. Down below, past the water intake, there’s significantly less. It’s still fun, though. In the upper and lower cut-in sections, it’s hardly slippery at all. In the middle, where there’s more sunlight, the wet rocks are covered with slippery algae. All the anchors and fixtures are in good condition.

Tiefer Wasserstand aber sauber klares und frisches Wasser. Es hat richtig Spass gemacht. Es war nur wenig rutschig. Die wenigen Sprünge sind machbar, die Pools sind tief genug. Alle Haken sind I.O.
The water level was low, but the water was clean, clear, and fresh. It was really fun. It was only a little slippery. The few jumps are doable, and the pools have enough depth. All the anchors are in good condition.

Der Wasserstand war für den Pontirone eher niedrig, die Wassertemperatur angenehm erfrischend aber eigentlich auch zu Hoch. Alle Haken sind i.O. Die Sprünge und Rutschen sind machbar. Der unterste Teil der Schlucht ist kaum rutschig. Zwischen der Stelle zum abklettern, dort wo man üblicherweise unter der Wasserstrahl durchgeht und dem „Run n‘ Jump“ liegt ein Baumstamm drin.
The water level was on the low side for the Pontirone, and the water temperature was pleasantly refreshing—though actually a bit too high. All the anchors are in good condition. The jumps and slides are doable. The lowest part of the canyon is hardly slippery at all. Between the spot where you downclimb—where you usually pass under the water jet—and the “Run n’ Jump,” there’s a tree trunk lying across the path.

Wir sind nicht Pontirone sup. sondern Pontirone med. gegangen. Zustieg ab dem Parkplatz am Ende von Pontirone inf. über die Alpe Piena. Hoch bis zum Waldrand. Dort gibt es eine kleine Sitzbank und einen Wegweiser zum Dorf Pontirone. Ab diesem Punkt ist der teilweise leicht ausgesetzte Weg gut zu finden, obschon er nur selten begangen wird. Benötigte Zeit für den Zustieg 70 Minuten. Ab der Wasserrinne, die als Zufluss zur Legiuna führt, beim Punkt 46.382494 9.002821 geht es mit mehreren kurzen Abseilern runter in die Schlucht. Der letzte Abseiler 60m ist mit einem Doppelhaken mit Kette gut gesichert. Bei einer Abseilstelle, (ca. 7m) haben wir keinen Bohrhaken gefunden und mussten improvisiert abseilen. Ich empfehle bei der nächsten Begehung über diesen Zustieg eine Bohrmaschine mitzunehmen. Ab dem Erreichen der Legiuna kann man der Schlucht Pontirone sup. ab dem mittleren Teil folgen. Der Wasserstand war für den Pontirone eher niedrig, die Wassertemperatur angenehm erfrischend aber eigentlich auch zu Hoch. Die braunfarbenen Steine in der Schlucht sind etwas rutschig. Alle Haken sind i.O. Die Sprünge und Rutschen sind machbar.
We didn’t take the Pontirone superiore route, but the Pontirone med. route. The access starts from the parking lot at the exit of Pontirone inferiore and goes via Alpe Piena. We climbed up to the edge of the forest. There’s a small bench there and a signpost pointing toward the village of Pontirone. From this point on, the trail—which is slightly exposed in places—is easy to follow, even though it’s rarely used. The access took 70 minutes. From the water channel that flows into the Legiuna, at coordinates 46.382494 9.002821, the route descends into the canyon via several short rappels. The final 60-meter rappel is well secured with a double hook and chain. At one rappel point (approx. 7 meters), we did not find any bolts and had to improvise the rappel. I recommend bringing a drill on your next ascent via this access. Once you reach the Legiuna, you can follow the superiore section of the Pontirone Canyon starting from the middle part. The water level was rather low for the Pontirone; the water temperature was pleasantly refreshing but actually a bit too high. The brown rocks in the canyon are somewhat slippery. All the anchors are in good condition. The jumps and slides are manageable.

Momentan kein Problem, aber wenn der Stamm runter rutscht und in einem Pool liegen bleibt, kann das beim Springen zu einem Problem werden.
Water level is rather low for the Legiuna; water temperature is higher than usual. Hardly slippery at all. There’s a tree in the water at the downclimb point and before the Run n’ Jump. It’s not a problem right now, but if the trunk slides down and gets stuck in a pool, it could become an issue when jumping.

Sehr niedriger Wasserstand. Bei der Engstelle am Einstieg unter der Brücke ist das kühle frische Wasser noch reichlich geflossen. Der lange Abschnitt als Fluss war komplett trocken. Als die Schlucht wieder enger wurde, da gab es wieder fliessendes Wasser, aber die Pools waren zunehmend von Algen überwuchert. Die Wasserqualität liess zu Wünschen übrig. Alle Haken waren in Ordnung, einige aber auch etwas alt.
Very low water level. At the narrow part near the entry under the bridge, the cool, fresh water was still flowing abundantly. The long part of the river was completely dry. As the canyon narrowed again, there was flowing water once more, but the pools were increasingly overgrown with algae. The water quality left something to be desired. All the anchors were in good condition, though some were a bit old.

The water is shallow but refreshing given the high air temperatures. Barely slippery. Jumps and slides are doable. Access via the Chisola tributary. I think this alternative is much better than the entry through the steep forest.

Das Wasser fliesst in einem kleinen Rinnsal, aber nur bei felsigem Untergrund. Bei Kies und Blöcken ist das Bachbett trocken. Trotzdem ein lohnenswerter Zustieg für die Perlana. Aus meiner Sicht der bessere Zustieg als durch den steilen Wald zur Perlana.
The water flows as a small trickle, but only where the ground is rocky. Where there is gravel and boulders, the streambed is dry. Still, it’s a worthwhile access to the Perlana. In my opinion, it’s a better access than the one through the steep forest to the Perlana.

Das Wasser ist sauber und erfrischend bei den hohen Lufttemperaturen. Aber ich habe im Lirone noch nie einen so tiefen Wasserstand erlebt. Ganz besonders war, dass nach dem Zusammenfluss so wenig Wasser war. Diese Stelle verlor die sonst übliche Ernsthaftigkeit. Kaum rutschig! Im Beriech unter der Brücke, da hat es viel Holz drin, muss über- und unterklettert werden und die Stämme sind rutschig.
The water is clean and refreshing given the high air temperatures. But I’ve never seen the water depth this low on the Lirone before. What was particularly striking was how little water there was after the confluence. This stretch lost its usual sense of gravity. Hardly slippery at all! In the area under the bridge, there’s a lot of wood in the water—you have to climb over and under it—and the logs are slippery.

Beautiful and open, bathed in sunlight. The rocks are barely slippery and offer good traction. It’s a shame that all the pools are filled with large boulders, so there’s no diving or sliding. Access is from the large parking lot in the main town.

Alle Haken sind I.O. Die nassen, braunen Steine sind rutschig. Die grauen Stene sind deutlich griffiger. An einer Stelle, sind zwei Bäume in die Schlucht gestürzt, die Äste versperren den Weg unter Wasser. Vorsicht, dass man nicht hängen bleibt.
All the anchors are in good condition. The wet, brown rocks are slippery. The gray rocks offer much better traction. In one spot, two trees have fallen into the canyon, and their branches are blocking the path underwater. Be careful not to get stuck.

Super schöne schlucht easy mit kids machbar... viele mini rutschen und grössere rutschen.. Landschaftlich Mega vor allem durch die Höhle und den gesteinswechsel Alles in ordnung! Standard canyon start nicht zu empfehlen... weg nicht mehr vorhanden... besser alternativen canyon start nehmen... Etwas unterhalb des offiziellen einstiegs eingestiegen... ca. 3 abseiler ausgelassen
A really beautiful canyon—easy enough to do with kids... lots of mini slides and bigger slides... The scenery is scenic, especially because of the cave and the changing rock formations Everything was great! The standard canyon start isn’t recommended... the trail no longer exists... better to take an alternative canyon start... We started a little below the official entry point... skipped about 3 rappels

Viel Wasser, aber nocht nicht sportlicher Wasserstand. Springen möglich, Wasser war leicht getrübt. Darum haben wir alle Pools checken müssen. Alle Verankerungen und Geländerseile sind ok. Kaum rutschig.
Plenty of water, but not yet at a level suitable for swimming. It was possible to jump; the water was slightly cloudy. That's why we had to check all the pools. All anchors and traverese ropes are in good condition. Barely slippery.

Zustieg über die Strasse mit den Serpentinen und dann entlang der Piste im Wald zum Reservoir auf der linken Seite vom Bach. Dann gibt es einige Blöcke abzuklettern und man kommt zum 35m Wasserfall. Den verpasst man, wenn man rechts vom Bach hoch geht. Die Bohrhaken und Ketten sind gut, einige sind allerdings leicht rostig. Schöne Sprünge und Rutschen. Einige Stellen kann man hochklettern und so die Sprünge wiederholen. Steine im Wasser sind etwas rutschig.
Access is via the winding road, then along the trail through the forest to the reservoir on the left side of the stream. Then there are a few boulders to climb down, and you’ll reach the 35-meter waterfall. You’ll miss it if you head up to the right of the stream. The bolts and chains are in good condition, though some are slightly rusty. Nice jumps and slides. In some spots, you can climb back up and repeat the jumps. The rocks in the water are a bit slippery.

Sehr schöner und einfacher Canyon. Helle, grüne Pools mit klarem Wasser. Kein Seil und keinen Gurt eingepackt. Alle Becken gerutscht, gesprungen oder vereinzelt auch abgeklettert. Kaum rutschig.
A very beautiful and easy canyon. Bright, green pools with clear water. Didn't bring a rope or a harness. We slid, jumped, or occasionally downclimbed all the pools. Barely slippery.

Schöne abwechslungsreiche Tour mit eindrucksvollen Pools. Viele Sprünge und einige kurze Rutschen. 5x zum Abseilen ein Seil eingesetzt, die anderen Stellen konnten durch abklettern, rutschen und springen überwunden werden. Kaum rutschig.
A beautiful, varied tour with impressive pools. Lots of jumps and a few short slides. A rope was used for rappelling five times; the other sections could be navigated by downclimbing, sliding, and jumping. Barely slippery.

All setups are in good order. It's beautiful, and there are plenty of jumps to try. We were the first group to start early in the morning; the water was clear.

Verankerungen ok. Allerdings wurden einige Haken durch absägen entfernt. Alle diese Stellen konnten durch rutschen gemacht werden. Der Bachlauf war rutschig.
Anchors are okay. However, some anchors were removed by sawing them off. All of these spots could be reached by sliding. The stream bed was slippery.

Canyon Grosdar integral abgestiegen. Wasserstand eher niedrig, aber es fliesst, etwas mehr als ein“ Petit filet d‘eau“. Rutschig. Alles in allen, eine lohnenswerte Tour, insbesondere die hohen Vertikalen im oberen Teil.
Descended the entire Grosdar Canyon. The water level was on the low side, but it was flowing—a little more than a “petit filet d’eau.” Slippery. All in all, a worthwhile trip, especially the steep sections in the upper part.

Descended the entire length of the Grosdar Canyon. Water level is rather low; there’s a current, but it’s little more than a “petit filet d’eau.” Slippery. Features some high rappels, and in the middle section, a few enjoyable jumps as well.

Wir sind den unteren Abschnitt von der Kapelle aus abgestiegen. Ein paar sehr schöne Abseilstellen. Die Felsformation ist wirklich schön. Trocken mit ausgetrockneten Becken, von denen eines zwingend durchschwommen werden muss. Wir wurden von herabfallenden Steinen getroffen, blieben aber unverletzt. Die An- und Abfahrt ist mit Fahrzeugen mit guter Bodenfreiheit möglich.
We descended the lower part of the chapel. There were a few really nice rappelling spots. The rock formation is truly beautiful. It was dry, with dried-up pools, one of which you absolutely have to swim through. We were hit by falling rocks but were unharmed. The approach and exit are accessible by vehicles with good ground clearance.

Guter Wasserstand in der Schlucht. Die Ausrüstung ist uneinheitlich … es gibt ein paar alte Teile. Ein Haken ist beim Abseilen ausgebrochen … Tolle Stimmung! Zum Glück hat der zweite Haken gehalten, der mit einem Stück Seil verbunden war. Es war an der Stelle mit dem Klemmblock. Ansonsten eine wirklich schöne Tour. Ein bisschen überbewertet, aber dennoch legendär. Die Schlucht hätte ein paar zusätzliche Anker-Punkte verdient, einige davon stammen wohl noch aus der Zeit der Eröffnung. Bei der nächsten Wiederholung wäre eine Bohrmaschine angebracht. In der Mitte der Schlucht gibt es eine Zone mit erhöhter Steinschlaggefahr, Vorsicht ist angebracht.
Good water level in the canyon. The gear is a mixed bag… there are a few old pieces. An anchor snapped while rappelling… Great atmosphere! Luckily, the second anchor—which was connected to a piece of rope—held. It was at the spot with the clamping block. Otherwise, a really beautiful route. A bit overrated, but still legendary. The canyon could use a few more anchor points; some of them probably date back to when it first opened. A drill would be useful the next time we do this route. In the middle of the canyon, there’s an area with an increased risk of rockfall—caution is advised.

Trockene Schlucht. Es gab einige Pools mit (Dreck) Wasser gefüllt, die nicht alle umgangen werden konnten. Wenn man aber in der Region ist, so lohnt sich ein Abstieg trotzdem. Wir sind erst nach der Queerung der Piste über den Bach steil das dornige Bort hoch ausgestiegen, kurz vor der Autobahn und dann über die Piste zurück zum Auto. Glücklicherweise gibt es in der Region einige frei zugängliche Thermalquellen, wo man sich im heissen Wasser nach der Schlucht wieder sauber baden kann.
Dry canyon. There were a few pools filled with (muddy) water, not all of which could be bypassed. But if you’re in the area, it’s still worth the hike down. After crossing the trail over the stream, we climbed steeply up the thorny slope, just before the highway, and then followed the trail back to the car. Fortunately, there are several freely accessible hot springs in the area where you can wash up in the hot water after hiking through the canyon.
