Cooler Canyon, Extrem lange und sportliche Tour. Sehr schön auch der Zustieg mit der Seilbahn. Eingestiegen bei 0,7°C Lufttemperatur. Bohrmaschine hatten wir dabei, aber nicht verwendet - immer etwas gefunden. Qualität der Anker sehr unterschiedlich: Von Sehr gut, über extrem rostig bis defekt / unbrauchbar aber z.b. durch Abseilen über eine weitere Stufe lösbar. Überwiegend Einzelhaken. Wir waren 9 Stunden im Canyon und 11 Stunden inkl. Seilbahn, Zustieg, Rückweg unterwegs.
Cool canyon, extremely long and sporty tour. The cable car access is also very nice. Climbed in at 0.7°C air temperature. We had a drill with us, but didn't use it - always found something. The quality of the anchors varied greatly: from very good to extremely rusty to defective / unusable but can be removed by rappels over another step, for example. Mostly single pitons. We spent 9 hours in the canyon and 11 hours including the cable car, access and return.

Verglichen mit unserer Begehung vor 2 Jahren fehlte der damalige "Wow" Effekt. 2023 bewunderten wir das Gestein, heute ekelten wir uns ehr vor dem Müll und dem stinkenden Wasser, auch aufgrund eines toten Tiers im Wasser. Die Qualität der Haken ist deutlich besser als vor 2 Jahren - aber noch nicht perfekt.
Compared to our visit 2 years ago, the "wow" effect of that time was missing. In 2023 we admired the rock, today we were more disgusted by the garbage and the stinking water, also because of a dead animal in the water. The quality of the anchors is much better than 2 years ago - but still not perfect.

Extrem schöner Canyon. Sehr beeindruckende Gesteinsformationen. Ein bisschen wie Segnes in klein. Wir hatten kaum fließendes Wasser, dennoch mit etwa 1°C extrem kaltes Wasser. Im ersten Teil gibt es zwei Abseiler von jeweils ca 5m Höhe. Man kommt sehr oft rein/raus. Man sollte hier nur das allernötigste dabei haben, Rucksäcke/Lange Seile/Tonnen/Zu viel Karabiner ect sind in den schmalen Gängen absolut störend. Beschreibung werde ich noch anpassen um die optimale Position des "Materiallager" zu finden. Auch im zweiten Teil ist es mit den Rucksäcken sehr mühsam, aber die Seile werden für den C50 benötigt... Verankerung ok, an den niedrigen alles Einzelhaken. Am C50 sind es 2 Haken, jedoch nur 1 Anker für das Seil Geländer zum C50. Es gibt reichlich Gelegenheiten irgendwo stecken zu bleiben, insofern stellt ein höhere Wasserstand eine besondere Gefahr dar. Zurück sind wir über Plaun zur Bushaltestelle Abzweig Plaun, das spart im Vergleich zum Rückweg zur Alp Nargens enorm Höhenmeter, letzter Bus von hier gegen 17:05
Extremely beautiful canyon. Very impressive rock formations. A bit like Segnes in miniature. We hardly had any running water, but the water was extremely cold at around 1°C. In the first part there are two rappels, each about 5m high. You can get in and out very often. You should only have the bare essentials with you here, backpacks/long ropes/barrels/too many carabiners ect are absolutely annoying in the narrow corridors. I will adapt the description to find the optimum position for the "material store". Also in the second part it is very tedious with the backpacks, but the ropes are needed for the C50... Anchoring ok, all single pitons on the low ones. On the C50 there are 2 anchors, but only 1 anchor for the ropes railing to the C50. There are plenty of opportunities to get stuck somewhere, so a higher water level poses a particular danger. We returned via Plaun to the bus stop at the Plaun junction, which saves an enormous amount of altitude compared to the return route to Alp Nargens, last bus from here around 17:05

Die Verankerung ist für einen derart selten begangenen Canyon Erwartungskonform: Einzelhaken, meist recht alt. Überwiegend sicher, aber nicht mehr jeder Anker "gut". Überwiegend sehr griffig, Wasser sehr kalt. Nach ca 1/3 gibt es einen optionalen Zustieg/Ausstieg. Sehr schöne, lohnenswerte Landschaft. Viel loses Gestein, extremes Risiko von Steinschlag!
The anchoring is as expected for such a rarely climbed canyon: single bolts, mostly quite old. Mostly secure, but not every anchor is "good". Mostly very grippy, water very cold. After about 1/3 there is an optional access/exit. Very beautiful, rewarding scenic. Lots of loose rock, extreme risk of falling rocks!

Extrem rutschig, sehr viel Wasserkontakt. Überwiegend Einzelhaken, meistens im guten Zustand. Aufgrund der Wassermenge und des schmierigen Belags auf dem Fels mussten wir teilweise improvisieren, z.B. Human Anker oder durch Verwendung eines Totholz-Stamm. Zwei neue Anker gesetzt um weiterzukommen.
Extremely slippery, lots of water contact. Mainly single pitons, mostly in good condition. Due to the amount of water and the slippery surface on the rock, we had to improvise at times, e.g. human anchors or by using a deadwood log. Two new anchors set to make progress.

Zustieg mit Brombeersträuchern garniert. Wir waren zu viert. Mit 3 Fünzigmeterseilen konnten wir die Batzenbildung am Hängestand elegant vermeiden!😉 Verankerung für Zugangsseil beim Schlussabseiler orog. rechts a bisserl versteckt auf Schienbeinhöhe. 20 m Zugangsseil zwingend erforderlich. Insgesamt eine imposante Angelegenheit.
Access garnished with blackberry bushes. There were four of us. With 3 fifty-meter ropes, we were able to elegantly avoid the clump formation at the hanging belay! 😉 Anchorage for access rope at the final abseil orog. right a bit hidden at shin height. 20 m access rope absolutely necessary. All in all, an impressive affair.

Für den Aufstieg durch die Bunkeranlage ist eine gewisse Kletteraffinität erforderlich. Wir konnten die zwei benutzten Abseilstellen mit einem 40m-Strick abseilen. Seilgeländer zum ersten Abseilstand ist angenehm. Bunkeranlage mit lost place feeling 👍.
A certain affinity for climbing is required for the ascent through the bunker. We were able to rappel the two rappels we used with a 40m rope. The rope traverse to the first abseil station is pleasant. Bunker with a lost place feeling 👍.

Direkt nach längeren signifikanten Regen begangen. Zunächst relativ hohe Wassermenge die mit Sedimenten angereichert war. Direkt im Anschluss ein zweites mal begangen, dass Wasser war inzwischen klar und die Wassermenge hat zwischenzeitlich spürbar nachgelassen. Anker wirken auf dem ersten Blick wie "Komplett Neu, Top Zustand", es sind jedoch fachliche Fehler bei der Montage der Anker vorhanden, die nicht jeder Leihe erkennt und dennoch gefährlich werden könnten.

Noch nie bei so wenig Wasser im Oules gewesen. Skala von der Brücke: Knapp unterhalb des ersten Bohrloch. Es ist eine gut beherschbare Wassermenge, nur an wenigen Stellen kann der Wasserdruck gefährlich werden. Der Geysier war schon fast winzig, aber immer noch beeindruckend. An den meisten Wasserfällen war es heute unkritisch in den Hauptstrahl zu geraten und auch die Strömung Pools ist für diesen Canyon sehr gering - Achtung, für ungebüte, die diesen Canyon nicht kennen aber immernoch potenziel gefährlich! Der Canyon ist top ausgerüstet. Insbesondere bei sonnigen Wetter wie immer absolut lohnenswert. Aktuell sehr viel Betrieb im Oules - auf eine andere Gruppe stößt man diese Tage, solange das Wetter stabil ist, mit hoher Sicherheit.
Never been in the Oules with so little water. Scale from the bridge: Just below the first borehole. It is an easily manageable amount of water, only in a few places can the water pressure become dangerous. The Geysier was almost tiny, but still impressive. At most of the waterfalls today it was not critical to get into the main stream and the flow of the pools is also very low for this canyon - caution, for those who do not know this canyon but still potentially dangerous! The canyon is well equipped. As always, absolutely worthwhile, especially in sunny weather. Currently very busy in the Oules - you will almost certainly come across another group these days, as long as the weather is stable.

Wassermenge ok, für diesen Canyon relativ wenig aber dennoch so viel, dass man besser nicht im Haupstrahl der Hohen Wasserfälle geht. Anker sehr durchwachsen. Teils top, oft ungünstig posistioniert, teils ungenügend. Bei Sonnenscheint am besten erst ab 11:00 Uhr einsteigen, sonst ist man sehr viel im Schatten
Amount of water ok, relatively little for this canyon but still so much that it is better not to walk in the main stream of the high waterfalls. Anchors very mixed. Sometimes top, often unfavorably positioned, sometimes inadequate. If it's sunny, it's best not to enter until 11:00 a.m., otherwise you'll be in the shade a lot

Im Vergleich zu vor 2 Jahren hat sich der Canyon sehr stark verändert. Mit außnahme weniger Anker sind fast alle Stände mäßig bis stark angerostet / teils verroset, insgesamt aber noch begehbar. Durch geänderte Wasserläufe / Gesteinbewegungen teils stark veränderter Charakter, aber immernoch ein schöner Canyon, wenn man sich darauf einstellt und den "jetzt richtigen Weg" nimmt. Verglichen mit meinen bisherigen Begehungen im Chichin ein recht niedriger Wasserstand, aber dennoch genug Wasser, das man nicht im Haupstrahl der hohen Wasserfällle abseilt.
Compared to 2 years ago, the canyon has changed a lot. With the exception of a few anchors, almost all stands are moderately to heavily rusted / partly rusty, but overall still passable. Due to changed watercourses / rock movements, the character has changed considerably in some places, but it is still a beautiful canyon if you are prepared and take the "now right path". Compared to my previous ascents in the Chichin, the water level is quite low, but still enough water to avoid rappels in the main jet of the high waterfalls.

Wir sind mit der Almbahn I und Almbahn II von Lofer hinauf zur Lofer Alm gefahren. Die Fahrzeit beträgt insgesamt ca. 22 Minuten. Von dort führt der gut ausgeschilderte Wasserfallweg direkt zum Bach, der erste Ankerpunkt ist vom Wanderweg aus gut zu erkennen. Ein ehr durchschnittlicher Canyon, mit zeitweise sehr schöner Aussicht auf die Berglandschaft. Die Anker sind ehr mäßig, aber wir haben immer etwas gefunden. Die bisherige Seilangabe 2x50m ist merkwürdig - an längster Stelle war die Mittelmarkierung unsere 50m Seileile ca 10m vom nächsten Anker entfernt, ein 70m Seil hätte somit vermutlich doppelt gereicht - ich vermute, dass man mit 35m Seilen eventuell auskommen könnte - aber sicherheitshalber noch ein längers Seil mitnehmen, solange niemand anderes diese Aussage bestätigt.
We took the Almbahn I and Almbahn II from Lofer up to the Lofer Alm. The total journey time is approx. 22 minutes. From there, the well-signposted waterfall trail leads directly to the stream, the first anchor point is clearly visible from the hiking trail. A very average canyon, with occasionally very beautiful views of the mountain landscape. The anchors are rather moderate, but we always found something. The previous 2x50m rope indication is strange - at the longest point the center mark of our 50m ropes was about 10m from the next anchor, so a 70m rope would probably have been enough twice - I suspect that you could possibly get by with 35m ropes - but to be on the safe side, take a longer rope with you as long as no one else confirms this statement.

In der Tat ein viel schöner Canyon als man erwarten würde. Viele Ausstiegsmöglichkeiten. Stände OK, aber gemischte Qualität. Metallteil immernoch in der letzten Rutsche. Hinsichtlich der Beschreibung werde ich Punkte Anpassen: Seilempfehlung: 1x10m & 1x30m - Grund: Die meisten Abseiler sind <5m, am höchsten hat das 30m doppelt gereicht. Dauer: 2h Gesamt ist äußerst ambitioniert, 3h sportlich. Ich empehle als Richtwert (2-4 Personen, mit Pause, ohne zu hetzen) für 4 Stunden das Parkticket zu lösen, dann ist es eine gemütliche Tour, die man genießen kann.
In fact, a much nicer canyon than you would expect. Many exit possibilities. Stands OK, but mixed quality. Metal part still in the last slide. I will adjust points in the description: Rappel recommendation: 1x10m & 1x30m - Reason: most rappels are <5m, at the highest the 30m double was enough. Duration: 2h total is extremely ambitious, 3h sporty. I recommend as a guideline (2-4 people, with a break, without rushing) to buy the parking ticket for 4 hours, then it is a leisurely tour that you can enjoy.

Bachbett am Parkplatz war trocken, aber ab dem Einstieg eine gute Wassermenge. Zustand Anker gut, nur geringfügiges optmierungspotenzial. 2x40m Seil ist in diesem Canyon perfekt, wer damit abklettern muss, hat die Haken übersehen Wir haben über die Almbachklamm fortgesetzt, eine lohnenswerte Kombination - Schöner Abseiler im Sulzer Wasserfall, tolle Rutsch & Sprungmöglichkeit und wesentlich Aquatischer im Almbach Richtung Kugelmühle folgend.
Streambed at parking lot was dry, but a good amount of water from entry. Anchor condition good, only minor potential for optimization. 2x40m ropes are perfect in this canyon, anyone who has to downclimb with them has overlooked the anchors We continued via the Almbachklamm, a worthwhile combination - nice rappel in the Sulzer waterfall, great slide & possible jumps and much more aquatic following the Almbach towards Kugelmühle.

Foto 2: Wassermenge Stausee Foto 3: Hoher Sprung (ca 8,5m) Foto 4: Wasserfall / letzter Zufluss Wie immer sehr schön und absolut lohnenswert, insbesondere bei der gegenwärtigen Hitze eine tolle Abkühlung. Wasser ist sehr erfrischend, anfangs kein fließendes Wasser, nach kurzer Zeit aber alles perfekt. Bei Sonnenschein sehr schönes Farbspiel. Folgen des Felssturz deutlich sichtbar, macht den Canyon aber auch nicht minder attraktiv - es gibt ja noch hinreichend Sprungmöglichkeiten. Ein Fix-Seil ist hinüber, empfehle daher mind. ein 10m Seil dabei zu haben, zur Kontrolle des Beckens am 8,5m Sprung wird ein >=19m Seil benötigt

Water is very refreshing, no running water at first, but after a short time everything is perfect. Very beautiful play of colors in the sunshine. The consequences of the rockslide are clearly visible, but don't make the canyon any less attractive - there are still plenty of possible jumps. One fixed rope is broken, so I recommend having at least a 10m rope with you, a >=19m rope is needed to control the pool at the 8.5m jump

Guter Parkplatz (gebührenpflichtig, 6€/Tag) Wir haben den zwischeneinstieg irgendwie nicht gesehen und sind den Canyon dann komplett gegangen. Zeitweise sehr lohnenswert, jedoch auch (wie schon mehrfach angemekert) extrem viel Totholz im Canyon. Situation Ankerpunkte teils ungünstig, aber wir haben immer eine Möglichkeit uns zu behelfen.
Good parking lot (chargeable, 6€/day) We somehow didn't see the intermediate entrance and then walked the whole canyon. Very worthwhile at times, but also (as already mentioned several times) a lot of dead wood in the canyon. Anchoring points are sometimes unfavorable, but we always have a way to help ourselves.

Wir hatten Wasser in den Becken jedoch kein fließendes Wasser. Schöne Schlucht, sehr steiler Anstieg. Anker ok, aber nicht perfekt. 1x20 und 1x40 ist eine gute Seil-Empehlung Wir durften mit Erlaubnis des Museum auf deren Parkplatz stehen.

Letzter Wasserfall: 50 Meter … wir haben 60 genutzt. Nach unserer Einschätzung sind 50 zu knapp. Siehe auch Kommentar vom 3.7.24 und 15.6.24 . Alle Abseiler nach aic sind ok und sind alle ohne Geländerseil zugänglich.
Last waterfall: 50 meters ... we used 60. In our opinion, 50 is too short. See also comment from 3.7.24 and 15.6.24 . All rappels to aic are ok and are all accessible without traverese rope.

Grandiose Kulisse!! Super! Bei der Ausstiegsbeschreibung kann man den Hinweis auf „hereinwachsende Bäume“ und herabstürzende Wasserfälle eigentlich ignorieren und sich primär den Weg durch den Steinmann auf großem Fels zeigen lassen. Die blaue Markierung (klein) ist leider rückseitig auf kleinen Felsblock gepinselt. Telefonische Auskunft am Staudamm hat geklappt.
Grandiose scenery! Superiore! When describing the exit, you can actually ignore the reference to "trees growing in" and cascading waterfalls and primarily follow the path through the cairn on large rocks. Unfortunately, the blue marking (small) is painted on the back of a small boulder. Telephone information at the dam worked.

Fella zu wenig Wasser. Fixseil für Rückweg über Radweg top. Leicht zu finden.
Fella too little water. Fixed ropes for return via cycle path top. Easy to find.
