L'Otro è probabilmente il canyon più bello della Valsesia, con alcuni tratti inforrati spettacolari, è stato esplorato molti anni fa da un team sconosciuto che lo ha attrezzato a resinati. Con gli anni di questi armi è rimasto ben poco e ora sarebbe da riattrezzare; cosa non facile per via della portata sempre alta che rende l'entrata possibile per una breve finestra di tempo.
The Otro is probably the most beautiful canyon in Valsesia, with some spectacular forked sections; it was explored many years ago by an unknown team that equipped it with resinati. Over the years there has been little left of these weapons and now it would need to be retooled; which is not easy because of the always high flow rate that makes entry possible for a short window of time.

Percorsa soltanto la parte inferiore del canyon, la più continua, 8 calate con verticale max. 30 m. Consigliata perché salta la lunga camminata tra massi e accorcia l'avvicinamento a 15 min. Per questa parte l'accesso è, salendo nel vallone delle Piane, poco dopo una baitella che si trova a fianco del sentiero, sulla destra. Quando il vallone si apre entrare per una facile traccia nell'alveo in piano. Sostituita l'ultima sosta che era distrutta con un punto singolo a sx, ora si può entrare senza problemi nella goletta.
Traversed only the lower part of the canyon, the most continuous, 8 rappels with max. 30 m vertical. Recommended because it skips the long walk between boulders and shortens the approach to 15 min. For this part the access is, climbing into the Piane valley, just after a small hut that is next to the trail, on the right. When the gully opens enter by an easy track into the flat bed. Replaced the last belay that was destroyed with a single point to the left, you can now enter the schooner without problems.

Canyon breve ma con belle calate, mai complesse, qualche toboga, possibilità varie di tuffi anche alti in pozze sempre profonde... attrezzato in modo minimalista, tutti punti singoli e alcune calate ds fare direttamente in doppia da alberi. Ambiente verdeggiante in una foresta di abeti e faggi. Avvicinamento lungo (più di 1 h) su una mulattiera in lieve salita che attraversa gli alpeggi e i boschi della alta Val Sorba, personalmente non penalizza la discesa poiché non è faticoso; portarsi un cambio per il rientro da fare sullo stesso sentiero dell'andata (40 min.) Nei mesi estivi, sulla strada asfaltata ripida che porta all'ultimo parcheggio è vietato il transito. Esplorato da me nel 2025.
Canyon short but with nice rappels, never complex, a few toboggans, various possibilities of even high dives into always deep pools... Minimally equipped, all single points and some rappels ds do directly rappelled from trees. Green environment in a forest of fir and beech trees. Long approach (more than 1 h) on a gently ascending mule track through the alpine pastures and forests of the upper Sorba Valley, personally does not penalize the descent as it is not strenuous; bring a change of clothes for the return to be done on the same trail as the outward journey (40 min.) In the summer months, on the steep asphalt road leading to the last parking area, transit is prohibited. Explored by me in 2025.

Il canyon è breve ma molto bello, l'avvicinamento non è semplice su largo sentiero come descritto su alcuni libri, io non trovando il sentiero sono salito nel bosco, fino a raggiungere la vecchia casa, da lì entrare nel canyon è facile. *Non capisco perché non siano attrezzate anche le ultime 2 cascate

Grandioso! Si perde il conto dei toboga... comunque da non sottovalutare, ci sono degli spezzoni di corda per risalire da alcune pozze, senza le soste sarebbero parecchio difficili da raggiungere.
Great! You lose count of the toboggans.... however not to be underestimated, there are rope sections to climb up from some of the puddles, without the belays they would be quite difficult to reach.

Il vogna è diviso in 2 sezioni, la superiore è la più breve e continua, però ha un lungo avvicinamento (1,30 h) e un rientro a piedi di 1 h. Per la parte superiore la difficoltà stimata è V3A4II, con calata max. 25 m, diversi tuffi e acqua molto fredda. Per informazioni più dettagliate visitare gulliver.it (Vogna Superiore) La parte inferiore non è ancora completamente attrezzata, ma comunque percorribile per un mese all'anno ed è estremamente acquatica (bacino idrografico di quasi 50 km2, senza captazioni), lunga; con lunghi tratti di marcia e una cascata con una pozza pensile molto turbolenta. Percorrenza altamente sconsigliata.
The vogna is divided into 2 sections, the upper is the shortest and most continuous, however, it has a long approach (1.30 h) and a 1 h return walk. For the upper section the estimated difficulty is V3A4II, with max rappel 25 m, several dives and very cold water. For more detailed information visit gulliver.co.uk (Upper Vogna). The lower part is not yet fully equipped, but still passable for one month of the year and is extremely watery (catchment area of almost 50 km2, no catchment), long; with long walking sections and a waterfall with a very turbulent hanging pool. Canyon superlativo, forse l'unica pecca è che finisce troppo presto. Dopo la parte più inforrata c'è una cascata che si può anche evitare, però io consiglio di farla perché è molto bella... è attrezzata su punto singolo.
Superlative canyon, perhaps the only flaw is that it ends too early. After the most forked part there is a waterfall that can also be avoided, however I recommend doing it because it is very beautiful.... Is equipped on single point.

Le gole del Sermenza non sono un vero e proprio percorso di Canyoning ma più un trekking fluviale praticato da alcune scuole di rafting della Valsesia. La corda non è necessaria, c'è qualche tuffetto e il percorso è breve in una strettoia esteticamente bella, termina a balmuccia sotto il ponte di pietra. Se proprio si vuol dare una difficoltà... V1A4I... magari l'unica cosa stare attenti al rilascio della diga sul sermenza e che comunque il torrente ha un bacino idrografico di più di 100km2
The Sermenza Gorge is not really a Canyoning route but more of a river trek practiced by a few rafting schools in Valsesia. Rope is not necessary, there is some diving and the trail is short in an aesthetically beautiful bottleneck, ending in balmuccia under the stone bridge. If you really want to give it a difficulty.... V1A4I...maybe the only thing beware of the dam release on the sermenza and that anyway the creek has a catchment area of more than 100km2

La parte superiore è la più verticale con verticale max. 30 m La parte inferiore comincia dove si trova la nuova presa d'acqua che dimezza la portata. Per la inf. Verticale max. 12 m; l'inf. è un percorso adatto anche a chi non ha molta esperienza essendo tutte le cascate semplici.

Semplice canyon interessante soprattutto per la bellezza dell'inforramento finale che è un passaggio unico in Valsesia, l'unica difficoltà tecnica è a seconda delle stagioni il guado del Sesia alla fine.

La Comba Ruschera è in realtà solo L'ingresso alla Val Mala Superiore; ci sono 2 calate (max 20 m) solitamente con poco scorrimento, poi si entra nella Comba di Valmala e si trova un'altra calata. Comba Ruschera is really just THE entrance to Upper Val Mala; there are 2 rappels (max 20 m) usually with little flow, then you enter Comba di Valmala and find another rappel. Little vertical and discontinuous route interesting more for the unspoiled environment of the valley and a borehole with nice pools About 1.30/2 h for the upper part. Equipped with single points by myself and Tommaso Porri in 2025.

Riattrezzato con il gruppo CAI di Varallo, sistemate alcune soste nella parte superiore e aggiunti dei punti singoli per delle disarrampicate non banali, rimane ancora da sostituire l'ultima sosta danneggiata perché la portata non permetteva di entrare in sicurezza nella sezione stretta

Canyon continuo con dei bei passaggi, uno su tutti la grande cascata da 70 m quasi verticale (può essere toboga negli ultimi 10/15 m), c'è anche un passaggio in una piccola grotta e una calata da 30 m in un ambiente "simil-tropicale". Un po' scarso di acqua nei mesi estivi.
Continuous canyon with some nice passages, one above all the large 70 m nearly vertical waterfall (can be tobogganed in the last 10/15 m), there is also a passage into a small cave and a 30 m rappel in a "tropical-like" environment. Somewhat scarce water in summer months.

Il Rio Confienzo è un facile canyon che scorre all'interno dell'area geologica del "Supervulcano della Valsesia", la roccia che si incontra scendendo è Gabbro. L'unico problema che presenta la discesa è la presenza di rovi lungo il sentiero di avvicinamento; per il resto una volta dentro facili calate, un toboga; percorso discontinuo ma interessante per l'area selvaggia in cui scende.
The Rio Confienzo is an easy canyon that flows within the geological area of the "Supervolcano of Valsesia," the rock encountered on the way down is Gabbro. The only problem the descent presents is the presence of brambles along the approach path; otherwise once inside easy rappels, a toboggan; discontinuous route but interesting for the wilderness area in which it descends.

Attrezzato a punti singoli. L'uscita è per una traccia sulla sx dove su vedono delle baite abbandonate

Un inizio poco entusiasmante con calate distanti e basse, per poi diventare più continuo fino a una bella sequenza di verticali. Qualche mancorrente e qualche leggero sfregamento. Percorso adatto anche a persone poco esperte.
An unexciting start with distant, low rappels, then becoming more continuous to a nice sequence of verticals. A few handholds and some light chafing. Route also suitable for inexperienced climbers.
