By car: From Grignasco, continue toward Borgosesia. After a few hundred meters, turn right onto a narrower road following the signs for Ara - Grotte di Ara (pass under a brick arch). Continue uphill until you reach the village of Ara, where you can park in the first parking lot. On foot: Continue through the village, following the signs for "Grotte di Ara." You'll find a gate, but it's open. Continue on level ground for 5 minutes (trail 779) until you reach the Ara Caves park. Just before the bridge, follow a path on the left that passes above the park building (without entering the fence). After about a hundred meters, you'll find another bridge over the stream; enter here.

This route takes place within a protected area; ask for permission at the park office. Equipped in 2023 by Monterosacanyoning: Pablo Pinali and Lea Ameghino. It is the only route in Valsesia on limestone rock. You immediately find the first C8dx, which leads to a beautiful narrow corridor. Immediately after, the stream enters a very characteristic small cave, and then under a beautiful rock arch. Then you find C12 (boulder in the center) and a bit of walking with some easy downclimbing and a possible dive. You reach the last C6sx+C10sx, the first one diving-able.

Then continue for 10 minutes along the stream until you find a path on the left that leads up to the caves (15 minutes), from here return to the outward path.
