Erstbegehung, wir haben unterschätzt wie viele Abseilstellen sich im Canyon befinden, deswegen sind einige Stände eingebohrt, die über mehrere Stufen führen. Auch einige zwingende Abkletterpassagen sind drinnen, die Haken vertragen würden. Wir haben wirklich nur das eingebohrt, wo es kein Weiterkommen gegeben hat. Deswegen sollten die 2. Begeher durchaus noch 15 Haken mitnehmen! Die Schlucht hat es absolut verdient gut ausgestattet zu werden. Ein Top alpiner Canyon. Ich habe noch nie so viele Fossilien in einer Schlucht gesehen.
First ascent—we underestimated how many rappelling points there are in the canyon, so we drilled some belay stations that span multiple steps. There are also a few technical downclimbs that could use some anchors. We really only bolted where we couldn’t get any further. That’s why the second ascenders should definitely bring along 15 anchors! The canyon absolutely deserves to be well-equipped. A top-notch alpine canyon. I’ve never seen so many fossils in a canyon before.

Erstbegehung. Leider auf Grund des Zustiegs nur eine 2,5-Stern-Bewertung von mir. Anstrengend mit kniffligen Passagen. Der Canyon selbst hat einen starken Nährstoffeintrag im Oberlauf, dadurch ist er sehr rutschig. Sehr schade weil die Abseile sehr kontinuierlich sind in kompakten Fels. Definitiv ein Canyon für Abenteurer und Sammler 😉
First ascent. Unfortunately only a 2.5-star rating from me due to the access. Strenuous with tricky passages. The canyon itself has a strong nutrient input in the upper reaches, making it very slippery. Too bad because the rappels are very continuous in compact rock. Definitely a canyon for adventurers and collectors 😉

Erstbegehung. Sehr schöner Canyon in einer einmaligen Landschaft. Eher ein Canyon für das Frühjahr/Frühsommer. Einerseits wegen des Zustiegs, aber auch wegen des Wasserstands. Weißer Kalkfels, blaue Gumpen und eine wunderbare Höhlensektion in einem Bergsturz am Ende. Etwas für sportliche Canyonauten aber aus meiner Sicht lohnenswert.
First ascent. Very beautiful canyon in a unique scenic setting. Rather a canyon for spring/early summer. On the one hand because of the access, but also because of the water level. White limestone rock, blue pools and a wonderful cave section in a landslide at the exit. Something for sporty canyoneers but worthwhile in my view.

Erstbegehung. Schöne Wanderschlucht mit 2 Abseilstellen und einer kleinen Rutsche/Sprung. Schönes Ambiente.
First ascent. Beautiful hiking gorge with 2 abseiling points and a small slide/jump. Beautiful ambience.

Erstbegehung. Der Bach hat durchaus schöne Einzelstellen. Leider war er bei unserer Begehung durchaus rutschig, weil viel Nährstoffeintrag durch den Wald ist und durch den geringen Wasserdurchsatz ist es natürlich klar, dass sich Algen bilden. Leider mussten wir durch die schlechte Felsqualität oft mit Baumschlingen arbeiten oder mit nicht idealen Hakenpositionen. Formia ist definitiv ein Abenteuer aber sehr schön zu kombinieren mit dem oberen Alba-Teil.
First ascent. The stream has some beautiful individual sections. Unfortunately, it was quite slippery during our ascent because there is a lot of nutrient input from the forest and the low water flow means that algae naturally forms. Unfortunately, due to the poor rock quality, we often had to work with tree slings or with less than ideal bolt positions. Formia is definitely an adventure but can be combined very nicely with the upper Alba section.

Erstbegehung, Zustieg über einen überraschend guten Steig der nicht mehr in der Tabacco-Karte drin ist. Zu früh eingestiegen, man könnte (mühsam) noch etwas höher hinauf. Das Gelände wird aber schnell steil und exponiert. Die Schlucht selbst ist Abenteuergelände mit kurzen Gehstrecken zwischen den Abseilern.
First ascent, access via a surprisingly good path that is no longer on the Tabacco map. Too early, you could (laboriously) climb a little higher. However, the terrain quickly becomes steep and exposed. The canyon itself is adventure terrain with short walking passages between the rappels.

Eigentlich wars als Erstbegehung geplant, in der Schlucht haben wir aber zwei Generationen an Sicherungsmaterial gefunden - alte, rostige Expansionshaken Marke Eigenbau und jüngere Multimonti-Schrauben mit Kettengliedern. Die Klamm selbst ist nett und sonnig, der Fels schön ausgewaschen. Kalt wars, Schneetreiben und Sonne haben sich abgewechselt. 3 Zusätzliche Haken gesetzt.
It was actually planned as a first ascent, but we found two generations of belaying material in the canyon - old, rusty self-made expansion bolts and more recent multimonti bolts with chain links. The gorge itself is nice and sunny, the rock beautifully washed out. It was cold, snow and sun alternated. 3 additional anchors set.

Erstbegehung. Unerwartet wunderschöner Canyon mit einigen Abseilern - höchste 30m und Sprüngen, mit wenigen Gehstrecken in einem wilden Ambiente. Der Rückweg geht leider zuerst weglos bergauf, deswegen nur 4 Sterne.
First ascent. Unexpectedly beautiful canyon with some rappels - highest 30m and jumps, with few walking passages in a wild ambience. Unfortunately, the way back is first uphill without a path, so only 4 stars.

All the equipment is fine. The water was extremely clean and the rocks were not slippery. There is a sign on the bridge that the canyon is prohibited from the end of September to the first of April (I think it said that the lower canyon is prohibited but they walk it anyway because I saw footprints). The fine is 50 euros. Parking down by the lake costs 2 euros per hour.
