This canyon felt a bit overrated to me, not as charming as many comments suggest. R4 and R7 can be skipped easily, and R12 also tempts so but here it is not recommended for pulling down from R11 is quite a struggle. R13 is bomb-proof now.
03.06.2025 Agua Negra Marosffy Dániel ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 🌊 Crazy Completed ?
Warning. These days the second part is practically not doable, due to maintenance works at the halfway levada killer amount of water is channeled into the narrow part rising the aquatic level from A2 to ~A6 (see the background of the picture). Either you have to be very good at whitewater or prepare to quit here. We did the later. Fairly easy and nearly dry otherwise. Bus shuttle works until 6pm and costs 5 eur. After walking up to the Rabacal House with wet pack it is a very pleasant service.

The access path is a bit chaotic in the streambed, pick the most unpleasant option there that starts the climb. The canyon itself is pretty, except for the long walking sections in the debris.

Longer and colder than expected... The anchor at the top of the initializing big one is a free-hanging sort making it rather uncomfortable. The second half is an adventure park with lots of exiting options, nevertheless, we hardly spotted the last one before the road hairpin. Look for carved steps here on the right.

Best to think about it as a single but divided 110m descent with a streambed approach. Once out of the forest there is no walking part, but rope from anchor to anchor. All the way there are plenty of loose stones, no joke. R0: Single point in the stream bed (where the 3 streams join), not necessary, simple walk follows (unless it's icy). R1: Single point in the stream bed a couple of metres ahead of R0. It's to be used, two smaller (up to 5m) drop follows in 20-30m. R2: Tree on the right before the forest line. There's an old rope on the last tree but it looks bad and the approach is debatable too. Use a tree 5-6m before. Cca 20m descent follows. R3: Double anchor with rusty chain on the right. 40m rope needed from here. R4: Old ropes form a seemingly OK lead-in to a double anchor on the left. Cca 20-30m descent follows. R5: There are alternatives. Fresh but single point on the right, or older double with lead-in on the left. We picked the later one. Here comes the long descent, 45-50m. R6: Double anchor on the right, already in the flatter part. One point was damaged, now it is repaired but with 8mm screw (we only had this one). Long flat descent follows, cca 40m. R7: Double anchor on the left, still in the flat. There is also a pretty tree in a couple of metres if necessary. It's not obvious, but the next anchor is only 10m down. R8: 3-points chain anchor (plus one already fallen off) in a nice niche. The bottom here is cca 30m. Very spectacular. The way out is a short walk to the last drop where no rope is necessary. There is a wooden ladder that makes one think that it may fall over any moment, or a badly approachable fixed line on the right. 3-4m drop only.

This canyon is rather underrated. 16 rappels (down to the village, not quitting by the 424), quite continuous, spectacular at places, especially at the beginning. Requires lots of rain to get to form, that is true. We did it after 3 days (cca 200mm) rain, and it was fun. My only grief was the approach path that disappeared very soon (by the pylon), but the clear forest made it possible to get through. It is rather dull climb anyway, steep without rest and indeed took 1:15 to get to the top. @Georg: That thing on the picture is not an anchor but a deviation. Anchor there is a couple of metres backwards.

Access to the usual parking lot is possible but not obvious, due to damage of the gravel road at the last 100m. If you are worried about your car, park before the ford. Today the ford was completely dry (picture 1), but that did not mean that the canyon was too. I'd call it the lower end of normal. More optical than practical threat, but the water was definitely there (picture 2 at the bottom of the crux - rappel No. 5). Some technical help at the awkward downclimb after No. 4 (picture 3) would be great.
31.08.2024 Rio Simon (Inferiore) Marosffy Dániel ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Normal Completed ✔
Great as expected. Some pools are a little bit filled up, including the cave-like jump and the big 33m. Former is still jumpable, but you have slight chance to touch the ground (soft gravel).

Friendly as usually. Anchor of the 14m cascade (No. 5?) tends to grab the rope, we needed to climb back. It's probably because of being close to an edge, no-block pull down recommended here (double strand for the last one).
24.08.2024 Saltadouro Marosffy Dániel ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Low Completed ✔
First part (2/3rd) is super boring, only some pools make it bearable. The final... It could be pretty and amusing with a completely different rigging approach. The now existing explo-style is rather a desperate action: no drilling, but old pitons, rotten webbings and rusty maillons only, leading to uncomfortable narrows. Many thanks to the one who cut his/her new-looking Iris rope for the worst looking places. The cave at the end is not accessible any more from the top, some boulders are stuck in the entrance, don't even look for it. There is a weird rappel instead on the right. (In fact, all the anchors are on the right.) Fierce dogs on the way back. Fun otherwise. :)

If only there was no the way up... Heat, struggle and horseflies. But the canyon is a beauty, and - unlike the ones in the close Portugal - continuous, no walking section between the cascades. Some cool jumps are also possible.

The entire canyon was done comfortably in 8 hours, including 40 minutes walk back to the car (along the pipe, one person only without pack). However, we saw hardly any option the quit in the middle. There might have been a path, but concerning the height of the valley, and the amount of bushes, I would not count on that, so all or nothing. The other problem: the climb up from the big pool. This we estimated cca 15m, there was a just enough length of fixed rope, but if the water level was 1 meter lower, we'd probably still be floating there... Take it seriously, there's no dry spot to escape to, absolutely out of question the climb out anywhere else, and no signal either. If got stuck, your only hope is someone waiting for the group outside. Picture 1: The climb seen in the distance. It's more scary from here than at the bottom. Picture 2: Back from the top. No dry land down there. Otherwise amusing, not counted the long walking sections.

Approach path is beautiful, in fact, more interesting than the canyon... Some simple rapppels at the beginning and at the end, high point is the 48m (this time dry) and the following airy 28m cascades. Hand line and/or guideline here is a must. Easy, spectacular but too long walk in the middle. Flocks of bathers in the second part.

Poco da Moura and the big pools are great, but getting in and out is a real pain. Bring your own machete.

Ideal for quick and easy tours, very short in every detail. The upper part is pretty, the lower lacks real interest (except for industry fans). Rigging is fine all the way.

The first third (till the bridge) is nice and well equipped. The middle part is rather to forget, nothing to do but walk. The final part is interesting, but the rigging and the rock here require nerves. All together it makes a quite amusing short tour.
03.08.2024 Bogutovski Potok Marosffy Dániel ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Low Completed ✔
The first third is a struggle, 1h walk in the almost dry stream bed, luckily not that overgrown as expected. Beware of snakes, there were a lot, some looking wicked. The second third is a nice, shady forest, but still dry. Then comes the canyon, cold water enters suddenly, even some - literally - cool jumps are possible. Here you definitely need the wetsuite. The travertine formations are amazing. Exit option before the last 2 rappels (at the bridge) is quite obvious. If done till the Moraca a bit of free climb is required (15-20m, easy). However, the rating here is misleading: no V4 but V2 instead (all rappels are simple). And we spent 4h the canyon, with decent pace, can't imagine that in the stated 2:30h.
02.08.2024 Škurda Marosffy Dániel ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 Low Completed ✔
Done from Njegusi Zipline to Kotor, quite a long way (6h in the canyon, plus 1h walk). The middle part carried fresh water, dry otherwise, but nice all the way. Lots of rappels, all low and simple (the first two are longer, up to 40m). Millions of desperate frogs, some water snakes and bathing choughs in the pools. Taxi, cable car and walk down was an acceptable solution for getting back to the start.

Rope is only required for the first 2 rappels, otherwise everything can be jumped or slid. All pools are clear.
13.07.2024 Rio Simon (Inferiore) Marosffy Dániel ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 High Completed ✔
Simon is always fun. More water than we expected, but it even made things easier, all jumps were clear. The 16m rappel looked more serious from above than it turned out to be.

The biggest problem is the transfer (even worse, the walk up), otherwise technically rather simple. But entertaining.
10.07.2024 Rio Nero (Lago di Garda) Marosffy Dániel ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 High Completed ✔
We ventured a new approach from the last hairpin thru the woods that was quite useful and cut off the first 20 minutes sheer walk. Recommended. The water level was frightening in the narrows, but all were manageable with a little bravery. Don't get trapped by the old anchors in the 3-4th(??) pitch, that is heavily damaged and leads into a swirling pool. Not good for the nerves. Dry solution is far on the left. Final part is kind of via ferrata. The last 11m jump is the reward.
09.07.2024 Massanglia Marosffy Dániel ★★★★★ 📖 ★★★ ★★★ 💧 High Completed ✔
Very short but carries abundant water (especially now after rain) that makes it rather sporty, manageable though, thanks to being over-equipped. Headlamp needed for the cave.

One day after a heavy rain the pools were clean and even some water was flowing. We did it without wetsuites that was not too bad. Just a tiny bit.

Normal conditions in the beautiful cake-like canyon. Way thru the woods - path north of the canyon - takes appr. 20 minutes if the only car is left above.
