Sehr schöner Canyon. Vor und während der Tour hat es geregnet, perfekter Wasserstand. Der Zustieg geht sehr steil durch den Wald, durch den Regen wird es sehr rutschig. Bei der zweiten Kaskade, angegeben mit 10m - 18m - 36m haben wir den zweiten Stand nicht gefunden. Haben dann mit einem 50er Seil bis nach unten geseilt. Alle Stände top.
A very beautiful canyon. It rained before and during the tour, so the water level was perfect. The access is very steep through the forest, and the rain makes it very slippery. At the second cascade—listed as 10 m, 18 m, and 36 m—we couldn’t find the second belay station. We ended up rappelling all the way down using a 50-meter rope. All the belay stations were great.

Wenn man mit einem Auto unterwegs ist parkt man am Wanderparkplatz Parque de estacionamento Levada 25 Fontes. Von dort aus immer der Levada do Alecrim folgen bis man nach 3,5km am Einstieg ankommt. Am Anfang sind es ein paar kleinere Abseiler und Sprünge. Danach folgen die 2 hohen Kaskaden. Die Umsteiger sind freihängend und eine Trittschlinge macht Sinn. Bei der zweiten Kaskade haben wir nur drei Stände 9m, 47m und 75m gefunden. Danach läuft man noch rund 50m im Bach entlang bis man zu einer gemauerten Abstufung kommt. Hier nicht abklettern sondern orogr. rechts den leichten Pfadspuren an der Wand entlang folgen. Man gelangt zu einer älteren Levada, welche zum Wanderweg und zur Levada das 25 Fontes führt. Dann einfach der Levada das 25 Fontes folgen. Man läuft bis PR6 25 Fontes hike & Levada do Risco und kann von dort aus den Minibus (5€ p.P.) nehmen, der einen wieder zum Parkplatz bringt.
If you’re traveling by car, park at the Levada 25 Fontes hiking parking lot (Parque de estacionamento Levada 25 Fontes). From there, follow the Levada do Alecrim until you reach the entry after 3.5 km. At the start, there are a few short rappels and jumps. These are followed by two tall cascades. The belay points are free-hanging, so a foot loop is recommended. At the second cascade, we found only three belay points: 9 m, 47 m, and 75 m. After that, walk about 50 meters along the stream until you reach a stone-paved step. Do not downclimb here; instead, follow the faint trail along the wall to the orographic right. You’ll reach an older levada that leads to the hiking trail and the Levada das 25 Fontes. Then simply follow the Levada das 25 Fontes. Walk to PR6 25 Fontes Hike & Levada do Risco, and from there you can take the minibus (€5 per person), which will take you back to the parking lot.

Parken am Klärwerk. Zustieg: Richtung Bach gehen. Am grünen Geländer erst ein paar Treppen hinauf, dann steil in den Wald der Wasserleitung folgend. Teilweise gibt es ein dünnes Stahlseil an der Felswand zum festhalten. Tour: Erst ein bisschen abklettern, dann 2x ca. 15m und dann der hohe Schlusswasserfall. Haben den hohen Abseiler durchgeseilt ohne den Zwischenstand zu benutzen. Abziehen kein Problem. Rückweg: Durch den Tunnel zum Meer und rechts die Treppen hinauf. Kurze und entspannte Tour.
Parking at the wastewater treatment plant. Access: Head toward the stream. At the green railing, first climb a few steps, then head steeply into the forest, following the water pipe. In some places, there’s a thin steel cable on the rock face to hold onto. Route: First a short downclimb, then two rappels of about 15 meters each, followed by the tall final waterfall. We rappelled down the tall section in one go without using the intermediate belay point. Getting out was no problem. Return route: Through the tunnel to the sea and up the stairs on the right. A short and relaxing route.

Kurzer aber relativ steiler Zustieg. Der erste Abseiler zum Bach über einen Baum, Bandschlinge mit Ring vorhanden. Der erste Abseiler ca. 50m, danach ein paar kleine und der Schlusswasserfall ca. 35m. Sehr gut eingerichtet. Kurze und entspannte Tour. Auch bei Regen machbar.
Short but relatively steep access. The first rappel down to the stream is over a tree; a sling with a ring is provided. The first rappel is about 50 meters, followed by a few short ones and the final waterfall, which is about 35 meters. Very well equipped. A short and relaxing route. Doable even in the rain.

Der Canyon wird kommerziell geführt. Waren mit einem Auto unterwegs und hatten unten geparkt. Nette Canyon-Guides haben uns dann zum Einstieg mit dem Auto hochgenommen. Sehr gut eingerichtet.
The canyon is commercially operated. We were traveling by car and had parked at the bottom. Some friendly canyon guides then drove us up to the entry. Very well organized.

Einstieg durch Abseilen an der Wasserfassung. Danach ein paar Abseiler. An zwei Stellen wären Haken gut gewesen, wurde dann durch Abklettern gelöst. Ansonsten alles top.
Entry by rappelling down to the water intake. Then a few rappels. Anchor points would have been helpful at two spots, but we got past them by downclimbing. Otherwise, everything was great.

Heute im Tignaga unterwegs. Bis ca. 930 m Höhe waren die Wasserstände unauffällig. Der orografisch links einmündende Zufluss (auf ca. 1.000 m Höhe) führte zunächst normal Wasser, stieg dann jedoch innerhalb kürzester Zeit massiv an – vermutlich durch eine Wasserabgabe des oberhalb gelegenen Kraftwerks. Wir haben daraufhin einen Notausstieg gemacht und die Tour abgebrochen.
Out on the Tignaga today. Up to an elevation of about 930 m, the water levels were unremarkable. The orographic tributary flowing in from the left side of the canyon (at an elevation of about 1,000 m) initially carried a normal flow of water, but then rose dramatically within a very short time—presumably due to water being released from the power plant located upstream. We subsequently made an emergency exit and aborted the trip.

Haben den Einstieg über eine steile Wiese gewählt, würde aber vermutlich aber auch etwas weiter hoch und dann runter über den Schnee gehen. (Haben Canyon Start-Koordinaten angepasst, da diese nur ca. 1/4 der tatsächlichen Tour waren). Die Höhle oben haben wir nicht gefunden. Mittendrin dann spektakuläre dunkle Schneehöhle ca. 200 m, hier haben wir mit Körpersicherung gearbeitet. Wasserstand war durchaus sportlich, aber gut machbar.
We chose to make the entry on a steep meadow, but we would probably also go a little further up and then down over the snow. (We adjusted the canyon starting coordinates, since they only covered about 1/4 of the actual route.) We didn’t find the cave at the top. Right in the middle, there was a spectacular dark snow cave about 200 m long; here, we used body belays. The water level was quite challenging, but definitely manageable.

Fehlende Haken wurden wieder erneuert und lockere wieder festgezogen. Wenn man den letzten Abseiler komplett durchweilt sind 2 60er Seile erforderlich.
Missing anchors were replaced and loose ones tightened again. If the last rappel is done completely, 2 60 mm ropes are required.

Die Haken sind in Ordnung. Vermutlich war schon jemand drin . Einen Haken haben wir ersetzt . Achtung!!! Nicht auf oder an der Wiese vor dem vorletzten Haus mit Ferienwohnungen parken. Siehe Foto. Wurden vom Vermieter übel beschimpft. Den beschriebenen Parkplatz gibt es nicht mehr. Parkmöglichkeit evtl unterhalb bei der großen Wiese. Nette enge Schlucht mit 11 abseilen ca 1 Std.
The anchors are fine. Presumably someone has already been in there . We have replaced one anchor . Attention!!! Do not park on or near the meadow in front of the penultimate house with vacation apartments. See photo. We were badly insulted by the landlord. The described parking lot no longer exists. Parking possibly below at the large meadow. Nice narrow canyon with 11 rappels about 1 hour.

Im oberen Teil war der Wasserstand fast crazy, da man dort immer direkt im Wasser abseilen muss. Im oberen Teil fehlt beim 3. Abseiler der Haken. Umgehung ist orograghisch Links raus und dort vom Baum runter. Bitte nicht springen, da die 2. Teilstufe einen Felsblock drin hat den man bei viel Wasser nicht sieht. Im unteren Teil sind die Abseiler kein Problem vom Wasser her. Alles außerhalb der Wasserlinie. Nur die Becken sind wie beschrieben teilweise sehr turbulent.
In the upper part, the water level was almost crazy, as you always have to rappel directly in the water. In the upper part, the anchor is missing on the 3rd rappel. Bypass is orograghically out to the left and down from the tree. Please do not jump, as the 2nd step has a boulder in it that you cannot see when there is a lot of water. In the lower part the rappels are no problem from the water. Everything is outside the water line. Only the pools are sometimes very turbulent as described.
