Second time and every year again 🥳🫶🏼😎🕺🏼. A very interesting canyon when the flow is good. We approached it from the Varen alp. It can also be reached from the Gemmipass. Longest pitch: 85 m. A few points were doubled last year and are still in place and in good shape. Equipement, more than adequate. CAUTION on the last big rappel! Rockfall’ 💥🙄 The inferior part (after Larschi) still has some rappels. Happy to have been part of the opener team, some years ago. A fantastic little Upper Valais beauty! With nature and wildlife at its purest. Eagle, gypaètes, chamoix, bouquetins,… 🥰

Viel Wasser, aber nocht nicht sportlicher Wasserstand. Springen möglich, Wasser war leicht getrübt. Darum haben wir alle Pools checken müssen. Alle Verankerungen und Geländerseile sind ok. Kaum rutschig.

Plenty of water, but not yet at a level suitable for swimming. It was possible to jump; the water was slightly cloudy. That's why we had to check all the pools. All anchors and traverese ropes are in good condition. Barely slippery.

Ancrages bien vieux en haut. Canyon glissant avec beaucoup d'embacles, surtout dans la deuxième partie (avec 2 chamois surprises). Dans le dernier cassé, pas trouvé le relai après le R55 (après la troisième longueur) donc percé à environ 70-80m du 3eme relai dans le mur...

Very old anchors at the top. Slippery canyon with lots of log jams, especially in the second section (with 2 surprise chamois). In the last broken section, couldn’t find the belay after R55 (after the third pitch), so drilled about 70–80 m from the third belay in the wall...

Canyon Grosdar integral abgestiegen. Wasserstand eher niedrig, aber es fliesst, etwas mehr als ein“ Petit filet d‘eau“. Rutschig. Alles in allen, eine lohnenswerte Tour, insbesondere die hohen Vertikalen im oberen Teil.

Descended the entire Grosdar Canyon. The water level was on the low side, but it was flowing—a little more than a “petit filet d’eau.” Slippery. All in all, a worthwhile trip, especially the steep sections in the upper part.

Le descriptif de l’accès dans « Swiss Alp Canyon tome 1 » est ok, cependant il n'est pas possible de bifurquer à gauche à l'altitude 1600m. Continuer la sente vers l'est jusqu'au point 1732 puis revenir à à l'ouest sur +/-150m à l’horizontale. Plusieurs tiges en métal en milieu de traversée. Des traces de peinture jaunes ou oranges sont visibles tout du long de l'accès, mais sont parfois très espacées. Il y a des sentes tout le long de l'accès sauf dans les pentes herbeuses de Im Halpi et dans la descente de l’ébouli. Accès 3h45 avec petite recherche à 1732m. Descente de l’intégrale en 6h30 à 4. Petit filet d’eau dans les premières parties puis augmentation soudaine du débit à 15h pour arriver à un « débit correct » (lié au karst?). Très chaud au début (plein soleil) puis froid au fond du canyon. Le soleil n'atteint pas le fond de la vallée de la saison.

The access description in "Swiss Alp Canyon tome 1" is correct, but it is not possible to turn left at altitude 1600m. Follow the trail east to point 1732, then return west for +/-150m horizontally. Several metal rods in the middle of the traverse. Traces of yellow or orange paint are visible all along the access, but are sometimes widely spaced. There are paths all along the access except on the grassy slopes of Im Halpi and on the descent from the scree slope. Access 3h45 with a short search at 1732m. Complete descent in 6h30 with 4 people. Small trickle of water in the first sections, then sudden increase in flow at 3pm to reach a "correct flow" (karst-related?). Very hot at first (full sun), then cold at the bottom of the canyon. The sun doesn't reach the valley floor this season.
