Finalmente dopo tanti anni siamo riusciti a organizzare questa discesa! Abbiamo trovato degli armi di un'esplorazione precedente, ma assolutamente insufficienti e rovinati dalle piene, quindi abbiamo aggiunto quello che serviva per scendere (catene, punti intermedi x mancorrenti)... inizio veramente spettacolare nelle "Caldaie d'Otro", poi qualche cascata più piccola e finale con altre belle verticali alte fino a uscire direttamente in paese. Attrezzato per la maggior parte evitando il flusso diretto e i movimenti d'acqua nelle pozze, poiché la portata è molto alta anche in un anno come questo di siccità. A livello di verticalità da non sottovalutare per la presenza di diversi mancorrenti lunghi con tanti punti Intermedi, e un frazionamento spostato a dx raggiungibile solo con deviatore (inoltre la roccia è molto scivolosa) Grazie al team varesotto e anche a Paolo ... l'avvicinamento è segnato con bolli e frecce blu

Low expectation cause in the final part the water goes under the sand and seems quite absent, also at the beginning it is pretty dry but after a water station the real flow begins and also the canyon too. Do not underestimate water cause there are some narrow sections. Really pleasant with several jumps at the begin and in the middle (we jumped 4 out of 8 overall pitches). Quite everywere single points, some of them missing and we integrated one necessary in the initial part and doubled one in the final part; to be considered explorative and bring some safety equipment cause high water can often take away anchor points. Very beautiful geology in the final part. Right after the 50m pitch been hit by the hail and the heavy rain that covered the high and mid Maggia valley in the afternoon, we speed up cause close the the more open area of lower Tome but in a group of ten, once safe after the toboggan right under the approach bridge the canyon become impracticable (see picture for reference levels at the start of the day and after); rain up to 60mm/h sustained for 30min.

Parcheggiare nell'area preposta, presenza di bagni gratuiti e area picnic ben attrezzata. Avvicinamento facile e ben segnalato, si entra appena si vede il letto del fiume con una presenza di un omino ben visibile. Tutti gli ancoraggi ottimi. Portata fattibile, sorpresi da un temporale siamo usciti appena dopo i primi toboga dell'inferiore, Portata triplicata nel giro di 40 minuti. Nella foto doppia raffronto della portata della mattina e appena dopo essere usciti.

Done with Beginner course of CAI Varese, water flow low and very hot air..everything in order and the usual woods around from below the 15m pitch till the end, just the last part they have mostly been cleaned.

Flow at checkpoint in medium situation wrt Eldorado Ticino reference picture, quite close to the upper limit (see photo). All the pitches doable, take into account that in many of them the current belays make you end in many cases right under the flow. All the anchor points in order, lot of logs/wood in the canyon after the bridge checkpoint, water in the pool very dark and not clean. The C22 (see photo), right after a road bridge and before the C45 (see photo), we downded from a tree on the right, cause it has a big log in the middle resulting in the risk of rope getting stuck in recovery with high flow if pressed against or below. The final C40 can be divided into C28+C8 cause after the pool there is a belay on the left; suggested to use with high flow to avoid entering the pool with lot of rope (see photo).
