Snowline around 1850m with 0-degree limit at 3000m. Some snow and ice during approach (see photos). Doable without crampons but with some care. Water level normal and no significant rise during the descent. We started the descent in the right arm ('bras central'). First afluent adds quite some water to the canyon (see photo). In the section from the start to the C56 some bolts missing, however rocks provide perfect natural anchors. We couldn't find the anchors for the deviation of the C56 (D7 + D48) which were in place last year (2024). Remaining anchor was excellent and the C56 through the water level was no problem.

Parking as advised in topo Association Offenbach is prohibited. Instead we used a public parking near Hotel Alpenhof in Melchtal (see photo). Approach was a short search for the right path. When you reach the meadow with the house, walk towards the cut down trees, pass them and go towards the corner on the right of the meadow with the barbed wire on your right hand (see photo). Climb the fence and once in the forest, go towards the canyon whilst going sleightly downhill. We took the natural anchor into the canyon. Anchors are monos in very good shape! A lot of driftwood and old trees in the canyon, making some rappels slightly more difficult. The descent with two persons took 45 minutes.

Beautiful trip, good and fun water level today, equipment ok.

Called the dam, had no reaction but there was a low flow. On 3/4th of the trip we heard a ‘roar’ of water that started rising. In 5 minutes it went from low to crazy.. Luckily we had a good escape point and could get out, everybody safe. Till that point the equipment was all good!

0°C at 2900 meters, no snow or ice in the canyon. Bridges were removed for winter, so we chose to start at the right section ('bras central'). Anchors are of good quality. Mostly single bolts; high rappels with double bolts. We did the C56 with the D7 and D48. Tricky (but not too hard) to reach the anchor of the D48; and easy to spot from above. With a 50m rappel rope we barely made it to the ground (the last person ended up 2 meters above the ground). We would advise to take a longer rope (55+m). Most bolts are well placed so you can stay clear of the water. Siphons were not a problem, easy to shunt or go through. Beautiful and impressive trip!
