Für eine integrale Begehung des Peonera Inferior fahren wir von Bierge auf der A-1227 in nordwestlicher Richtung fast bis zur Brücke über den Alcanadre mit Blick auf das Wehr, biegen aber 220m vor Erreichen der Brücke die Piste rechts hinauf ab und stellen unser erstes Auto dort auf dem großen Parkplatz ab - von Bierge bis zur Abzweigung 1.8 km.
Mit dem zweiten Auto geht es weiter auf der A-1227 nach Morrano (4,6 km ab Brücke über Rio Alcanadre). Von hier noch einen Kilometer weiter und wir biegen rechts ab auf eine etwas unter Straßenniveau liegende Freifläche mit Bäumen, wo wir das 2. Auto parken (Achtung, Gefahr von Einbruchsdiebstahl !).
For an integral ascent of the Peonera Inferior, we drive from Bierge on the A-1227 in a north-westerly direction almost to the bridge over the Alcanadre with a view of the dam, but turn right up the dirt road 220m before reaching the bridge and park our first car there in the large parking lot - 1.8 km from Bierge to the junction.
With the second car we continue on the A-1227 to Morrano (4.6 km from the bridge over Rio Alcanadre). From here, continue for another kilometer and turn right onto an open area with trees slightly below road level, where we park the second car (beware, risk of burglary!).

Nach etwas mehr als 1 km macht sie einen Bogen nach OSO , die Abzweigung eines Pfades nach links in Richtung Pedruel - "Camino de la Peonera" - ignorieren wir und wir kommen hinunter in den bewaldeten Bereich. Dort treffen wir auf einen Wegweiser, der links von der Piste weg den Einstieg in den Peonera inf. anzeigt. Wir folgen dem Weg, halten uns bei einer Verzweigung rechts und klettern schließlich steil hinuter zum Bachbett, wo man den Parcours auch mit einem Sprung eröffenen kann ("Badina Cebollero" bei Salamero).
Wollen wir bei der nächsten Einstiegsmöglichkeit hinunter in's Flussbett, so folgen wir dem erwähnten Wegweiser in Richtung "Huevo de Morrano" nach Süden und biegen nach etwa 100 m auf einen nicht sehr deutlichen Pfad in östlicher Richtung von der Piste ab ("Camino de Escaliguala"). Wir kommen zu einem Sattel, wo sich uns ein schöner Blick in die Schlucht bietet und steigen hier - teilweise an Fixseilen bzw. Ketten unterhalb einer Felswand hinunter zur Flusssohle.
Wir können auch von dem großen Parkplatz an der Straße von Bierge nach Rodellar direkt zum Beginn der Verengung steil hinab steigen (so in aller Regel die Komerziellen). Bei der Quelle kann man dann wieder auf einer Piste links hinauf und zurück zum Auto.
See http://www.descensodebarrancos.com/barrancos/peonera/topo/mapa.html . So we start on the track at "Cadena" (chain) in a northerly direction. After a little more than 1 km, it bends to the EAST and we ignore the junction of a path to the left in the direction of Pedruel - "Camino de la Peonera" - and we descend into the wooded area. There we come across a signpost indicating the entry to the Peonera inferiore to the left of the track. Follow the path, keep right at a fork and climb steeply up to the streambed, where you can also open the course with a jump ("Badina Cebollero" near Salamero).
If we want to descend into the riverbed at the next access point, we follow the aforementioned signpost in the direction of "Huevo de Morrano" to the south and after about 100 m turn off the track onto a not very clear path in an easterly direction ("Camino de Escaliguala"). We come to a saddle where we have a beautiful view into the canyon and descend here - partly on fixed ropes or chains below a rock face - to the river bed.
We can also descend steeply from the large parking lot on the road from Bierge to Rodellar directly to the beginning of the narrowing (this is usually the commercial route). At the spring, you can then take a track up to the left and back to the car.

Zunächst laufend, watend und schwimmend im offenen Flussbett abwärts passieren wir mehrere Halbhöhlen, die der Fluss herausgespült hat. Nach etwa 1,5 Stunden - gerechnet von der 2. Zustiegsmöglichkeit verengt sich die Schlucht. Dann kommt von links der Zustieg über die "Faja os Caracoles". Dieser Zustieg erreicht das Flussbett bei dem Felschaos, welcher den Estrechos de Tamara unmittelbar vorhergeht.
Die nun folgenden Estrechos de Tamara sind Kernstück und Highlight des Peonera inf. An ihrem Beginn befinden sich einige Siphons, die bei entsprechenden Wasserdurchsatz gefährlich werden können (schon mehrere Todesfälle). Nun wird der Peonera zum Schwimmcanyon. Wo die engen Wände wieder zurückweichen, sehen wir rechts die Fuente (Quelle) Tamara, wo wir auf einem Fußweg hinauf nach Morrano und zum oberen Auto gehen könnten.
Von der Fuente Tamara würde auch ein Fußweg linksufrig (aber vom Fluss etwas abgesetzt) direkt zur Ausstiegsstelle am Wehr führen.
Gehen wir im offenen Flussbett weiter, kommen wir nach einiger Zeit zu einer Stelle, wo sich das Wasser plötzlich in eine schmale Rinne gefressen hat (Beginn des Abschnitts "Puntillo").
Hier kann man etwas unterhalb des ersten Wasserfalls von der rechten Seite mit einem kleinen Sprung einsteigen. Nun folgen abwechslungsreiche Strömungsrinnen, teilweise unterirdisch, eine zwischenzeitliche Öffnung der Klamm und ein kurzer Abschlussteil, der mit einer Quelle zur Linken beginnt. Am Ende des Puntillo Möglichkeit für diverse Sprünge. Auch hier gilt, dass die Rinnen des Puntillo nur begangen werden sollten, wenn der Wasserdorchsatz - wie im Sommer üblich - nicht erhöht ist (auch hier schon Todesfälle).
Weiter abwärts geht es wieder wandernd und schwimmend, zuletzt etwas eintönig und ermüdend. Schließlich kommen wir zu dem Wehr, wo wir - dem Beispiel der hier Badenden folgend - unsere Tour mit einem Sprung vom Wehr beenden können.
Initially walking, wading and swimming down the open riverbed, we pass several half-caves that have been carved out by the river. After about 1.5 hours - calculated from the 2nd access point - the canyon narrows. Then the access via the "Faja os Caracoles" comes from the left. This access reaches the river bed at the rocky chaos that immediately precedes the Estrechos de Tamara.
The following Estrechos de Tamara are the centerpiece and highlight of the Peonera inferiore. At their beginning there are some siphons, which can be dangerous if the water flow is sufficient (several deaths have already occurred). Now the Peonera becomes a swim canyon. Where the narrow walls recede again, we see the Fuente (spring) Tamara on the right, where we could take a footpath up to Morrano and the upper car.
From the Fuente Tamara, a footpath on the left bank (but somewhat separated from the river) would also lead directly to the exit point at the dam.
If we continue along the open riverbed, after a while we come to a place where the water has suddenly eaten into a narrow chute (start of the "Puntillo" parts).
Here, just below the first waterfall, you can enter from the right-hand side with a small jump. This is followed by varied flowing channels, some of which are underground, an interim opening of the gorge and a short final section that begins with a spring on the left. At the exit of the Puntillo there are various jumps. Here, too, the chutes of the Puntillo should only be walked on when the water thorns - as is usual in summer - are not increased (deaths have also occurred here).
We continue downhill, hiking and swimming again, finally becoming somewhat monotonous and tiring. Finally, we come to the dam, where we can end our tour by jumping off the dam, following the example of those bathing here.

an interesting canyon, heavily frequented, we entered at the second entry parking on the east sid of the gorge, were we to repeat this tour we would have exited at the obvious bathing area the end of the first closed section, this is the part used by the local companies. This section is a good mix of swimming, downclimbs and jumps, care should be taken when entering pools, that water flow is briefly analysed. we found ourselves behind a group led by a friendly local guide , who intially offered us to pass by, I asked if it would be ok to follow him to maximise the fun through the section he had no problem, many small siphons are swimmable and pools can be jumped but prior knowledge or a good understanding of white water would be essential.
We opted to continue into the second enclosed section which is short but full of jumps, after this (30 minutes) addition, the remainder of the 'canyon' is a simple albeit, 45 minute long walk along the pretty stream bed to the bathing areas and dam (I was informed by a local guide that jumping off the dam is prohibited and if caught fines could be issued), we took the exit path on the Oro. left instead.
We were only using 1 car but we're lucky to be granted a lift back to the upper car park by one of the guides we met in the canyon, alternately a 2 hour, roadside walk would be required.

Wege mit Beschreibung gut gefunden, sind beim 2. Einstieg (also erst beim interessanten Teil) ein- und bei Badeplatz Tamara (also nach dem interessanten Teil) wieder ausgestiegen.
Die Schlucht war wuunnnnderschön, sehr aquatisch und mit einigen spannenden und unberechenbaren Weißwasserbecken mit verdeckten Steinen sowie Syphonen ausgestattet - ich würde sie eher nur erfahrenen Gruppen empfehlen, war aber alles in allem, wenn man ein bisschen Wasser lesen kann und vorsichtig nicht blind überall rein springt, ein absolut toller Canyon (wir hatten trotzdem zur Sicherheit Wurfsäcke mit).
Wasser hatte genau die richtige "Abkühltemperatur", sodass man weder frieren noch schwitzen musste und das Wasser schön klar sowie ohne Algen blieb.
Seil hätten wir keins gebraucht, haben alles abgeklettert, was durch das durchwegs griffige Sintergestein gut ging.
Beim Badeplatz vor dem Aufstieg kann (und bei unserem 40°-Wetter: sollte) man sich noch bei einer eiskalten köstlichen Quelle erfrischen.
We found the paths well with the description, entered at the 2nd entry (i.e. only at the interesting part) and got out again at the Tamara bathing area (i.e. after the interesting part).
The canyon was beautiful, very aquatic and equipped with some exciting and unpredictable white water pools with hidden stones and syphons - I would only recommend it to experienced groups, but all in all, if you can read water a bit and are careful not to jump in blindly everywhere, it was an absolutely great canyon (we still had throw bags with us for safety).
The water was just the right "cooling temperature", so you didn't have to freeze or sweat and the water remained nice and clear and free of algae.
We wouldn't have needed a rope, we downclimbed everything, which went well due to the sintered rock with good grip throughout.
At the bathing area before the ascent, you can (and in our 40° weather: should) refresh yourself at an ice-cold, delicious spring.
