Il giorno dopo il bares questo altro canyon molto acquatico, bisogna avere una certa dimestichezza con alte portate anche se in molti punti l'acqua si evita... La parte finale è bella stretta e anche molto estetica, con diverse pozze roteanti... Sopra un po' discontinuo ma comunque è un bel torrente!
The day after Bares comes this other very watery canyon; you need to be fairly comfortable with high water levels, even though you can avoid the water in many spots... The final section is quite narrow and also very scenic, with several swirling pools... It’s a bit uneven upstream, but it’s still a beautiful stream!

Il cascatone è bellissimo anche con meno acqua del solito... E anche il resto del canyon molto bello, qualche passaggio meno interessante ma se non fosse nel canton Ticino sarebbe un classicone

Canyon lungo e non poco impegnativo... Acqua fredda, alcune cascate molto belle soprattutto nella parte alta, quella da 250 m invece non è spettacolare, la parte che ci è piaciuta meno
A long and quite challenging canyon... Cold water, some very beautiful waterfalls—especially in the upper section—but the 250-meter one isn't spectacular; that was the part we liked the least.

Great routes, except for the one already mentioned in the other reports... The canyon is beautiful, very open, and the water level is low right now, but you can still enjoy the beautifully smooth granite slabs—a pleasant day.

Uno dei canyon più belli mai fatti... Siamo partiti prestissimo ma alla fine dopo 5 h compreso avvicinamento eravamo già fuori... Certe calate brevi si possono disarrampicare in opposizione... La calata nella fessura fatta sotto il flusso, nemmeno tanto alto... Da rifare con più calma
One of the most beautiful canyons I’ve ever done... We set out very early, but in the end, after 5 hours—including the approach—we were already out... Some of the shorter descents can be climbed down using the opposition technique... The descent down the crack beneath the waterfall wasn’t even that high... I’d like to do it again at a more leisurely pace

Al posto di fare rasiga o variola se la portata d'acqua è alta può essere una buona alternativa, canyon corto con qualche bella calata

Si pensava di farlo integralmente ma portata a nostro parere troppo alta non avendo mai fatto il canyon, si è optato per il Valletta che ne ha moolta meno.
We had planned to do the entire route, but since the water level seemed too high to us—and since we'd never canyoned before—we opted for the Valletta route, which has much less water.

Percorso con portata alta, è un torrente un po' discontinuo ma con delle sezioni davvero spettacolari... alcune calate non sono facili da gestire e serve una certa esperienza, qualche passaggio stretto, non tra i più famosi dell'Ossola ma merita sicuramente attenzione
A route with high water flow; it’s a somewhat erratic stream but with some truly spectacular sections… some rapids aren’t easy to navigate and require some experience; there are a few narrow passages. It’s not among the most famous in the Ossola Valley, but it’s definitely worth checking out.

Ne si approfitta delle piogge per fare questi torrenti normalmente scarsi d'acqua (soprattutto in questa stagione secca) Il canyon è bello c'è una sequenza di cascate davvero meritevole... Altre meno spettacolari ma comunque con questa portata ne vale sicuramente la pena... Alcuni ancoraggi sono molto "creativi" ma vabbè... Bella giornata grazie Giò e Carla
We’re taking advantage of the rain to explore these streams, which are usually low on water (especially during this dry season) The canyon is beautiful; there’s a series of waterfalls that’s truly worth seeing… Others are less spectacular, but with this much water flow, it’s definitely worth the trip… Some of the anchor points are very “creative,” but oh well… Great day—thanks, Giò and Carla

Ultimo torrente della Valsesia per quest' anno L'inizio è bellissimo la cascata di 70 m un gioiellino, fatta a dx tutta nel flusso, grazie per le nuove soste... Peccato per la parte successiva che perde un po' ma l'ultima sequenza di calate riprende il ritmo, armi super ok, avvicinamento segnato bene, comunque grazie a Bina X la traccia gps
The last stream in Valsesia for this year The start is beautiful—the 70-meter waterfall is a real gem, climbed on the right side right in the flow. Thanks for the new belay stations... Too bad the next section loses a bit of its appeal, but the final series of rappels picks up the pace again. The anchors are in great shape, and the approach is well marked. Anyway, thanks to Bina X for the GPS track.

Approfittato del diluvio di due giorni prima per provare questo canyon che è il più lungo della Valsesia con buona portata, era già in programma da un po'... L'avvicinamento è molto faticoso, 3 h è giusto forse anche un po' di più... Inizio aperto con qualche calata in ambiente di alta montagna poi si stringe... Impossibile uscire, si trova la cascata più alta e poi si è dentro tra alte pareti fino quasi in fondo Ancoraggi in gran parte buoni ma un paio non li abbiamo trovati, forse portati via da una valanga, piena? Boh sostituiti in modo minimale, ovviamente portare sempre trapano per questa discesa Ci abbiamo messo 7 h, anche dovendo gestire un buon flusso d'acqua... Ne vale sicuramente la pena in alcuni punti il canyon è molto bello.
We took advantage of the heavy rain two days earlier to try out this canyon—the longest in Valsesia—which had a good flow; we’d been planning this for a while... The approach is very strenuous; 3 hours is about right, maybe even a little longer... It starts off wide with a few rappels in a high-mountain setting, then narrows... It’s impossible to get out; you come to the highest waterfall, and then you’re inside between high walls almost all the way to the bottom. Most of the anchors are good, but we couldn’t find a couple—maybe washed away by an avalanche or the flood? Who knows. We made minimal replacements; obviously, always bring a drill for this descent. It took us 7 hours, even though we had to deal with a good flow of water... It’s definitely worth it—in some spots, the canyon is absolutely stunning.

Percorso appositamente il giorno dopo un acquazzone notturno, tanta acqua rende il canyon tecnico, la cascata da 115 m tira sberle... E ancora di più l'ultima cascata alta di 35? m Tutto ok con recuperi, abbiamo gestito con svincolabili dal basso (non ci si poteva permettere di risalir)
We specifically chose to tackle this route the day after a nighttime downpour; all that water makes the canyon technically challenging, and the 115-meter waterfall really packs a punch… And even more so the last waterfall, which is 35? m high Everything went smoothly with the rescues; we managed using detachable ropes from below (we couldn’t afford to climb back up)

Non è così facile trovare il sentiero nel bosco... Dalle case appena sopra la chiesa sulla sinistra dirigersi verso il bosco; c'è un cartello con ind. Valmala sopra/sotto, sempre verso sinistra su nel bosco fino a un dosso in piano; da lì scendere dalla parte opposta fino al torrente. Bel trekking fluviale con tuffone finale... Se si tuffa non serve la corda
It is not so easy to find the trail in the woods.... From the houses just above the church on the left head into the woods; there is a sign with ind. Valmala above/below, still heading left up into the woods to a level bump; from there go down the other side to the creek. Nice river trek with final plunge.... If you dive you don't need a rope

Abbiamo dormito la notte prima al bivacco Alpe Toso (più in alto del canyon) che è molto ben fornito, la mattina siamo scesi nel canyon dove la sterrata attraversa il Sorba; il primo tratto è molto aperto... C'è una cascata non attrezzata che noi abbiamo aggirato uscendo un'attimo... In corrispondenza di un ponte si trova un bel toboga e da lì è molto più bello fino in fondo, ci sono un paio di pozze spettacolari... Certo il percorso è breve e l'avvicinamento lungo; se lo si vuole fare conviene abbinarlo a qualche altra attività nella valle. Tutto a singoli con piastrina e anello/ maglia rapida
We slept the night before at the Alpe Toso bivouac (higher up the canyon) which is very well stocked.In the morning we descended into the canyon where the dirt road crosses the Sorba; the first section is very open... There is an unequipped waterfall that we bypassed by getting out for a moment.... At a bridge there is a nice slide and from there it is much nicer all the way down; there are a couple of spectacular pools... Of course the trail is short and the approach long; if you want to do it you'd better combine it with some other activity in the valley. All to singles with tag and ring/quick link

Siamo entrati un po' prima del punto indicato perché la strada sterrata sopra è sbarrata e stanno facendo dei lavori con ruspe. La prima parte del canyon ha piccole calate in un ambiente abbastanza aperto, un lungo e violento toboga. Poi si arriva a una bella cascata nel vuoto di circa 20 metri, due toboga con bellissime pozze, un bel tratto lungo di cammino e la fantastica sequenza finale delle cascate del Tinaccio. Alcuni passaggi sono veramente bellissimi, l'unico problema è la discontinuità del percorso. Comunque bello, V4A4III per le condizioni in cui siamo scesi.
We entered a little earlier than the indicated point because the dirt road above is barred and they are doing some work with bulldozers. The first part of the canyon has small rappels in a fairly open environment, a long, violent toboga. Then you get to a nice waterfall in the void of about 20 meters, two toboggans with beautiful pools, a nice long walk and the fantastic final sequence of Tinaccio Falls. Some passages are really beautiful, the only problem is the discontinuity of the path. Still nice, V4A4III for the conditions we descended.

Canyon semplice e soleggiato, ambiente molto aperto... In questo periodo quasi secco e scivoloso però ha delle calate esteticamente interessanti soprattutto nella prima parte e alla fine... Non è facile trovare il sentiero da Piana Bianca in poi
Simple and sunny canyon, very open environment... At this time almost dry and slippery however it has some aesthetically interesting rappels especially in the first part and at the end... It is not easy to find the trail from Piana Bianca onward

Buona portata anche a fine agosto, direi anche V4A4 come difficoltà calcolando le calate sotto flusso. L'ultima calata ha l'armo molto danneggiato, ci siamo fidati ma è assolutamente da sostituire. Unica pecca la camminata tra due sezioni inforrate, forse è più divertente percorrere solo la parte inferiore.
Good flow also at the end of August, I would say even V4A4 as difficulty calculating the rappels under flow. The last rappel has a very damaged limb, we trusted but it is definitely in need of replacement. Only flaw is the walk between two forked sections, maybe it is more fun to walk only the lower part.
