Von Muscat etwa 160 km auf der Autobahn "17" in Richtung Sur (Süden). Bei der Ausfahrt Tiwi - wenige hundert Meter vorher haben wir schon das Wadi Shab überquert - verlassen wir die Autobahn und fahren am Meer entlang in Gegenrichtung, bis wir unser Auto am Wadi abstellen können.

Um den Weg am anderen Ufer zu erreichen, lassen wir uns entweder von einem Boot hinübertransportieren (kostenpflichtig) oder waten durch den hier nicht sehr tiefen, aber schlammigen, Fluss.

To reach the path on the other bank, we either let ourselves be transported across by boat or wade through the river, which is not very deep here, but muddy.

Am orograf. linken Ufer führt ein Weg in den Canyon hinein. Wenn ein Seitencanyon von Nordwesten einmündet können wir entweder im Flussbett weiter oder aber wir folgen den Pfad, der am orograf. linken Hang aufwärts führt. Auf diesem Weg kommen wir nach etwa 80 Min. zu einem aufgelassenen Dorf. Hier steigt man dann in den Flusslauf ein und folgt ihm abwärts. Man kommt zu einem kleinen Abbruch, an dessen Fuß ein von Felsen überwölbter Gumpen liegt. Durch eine schmale und niedrige Rinne im Fels kommt man aus dem Pool flussab wieder hinaus. Man kann auch im Bachbett aufwärts laufen und schwimmt dann von unten in diesen Pool, klettert nach oben hinaus (Fixseil - 2016) und kann den Fluss nach Belieben weiter aufwärts wandern.

On the orographic left bank a path leads into the canyon. After the first change of direction of the river we can either continue in the riverbed or follow the path that leads up the orographic left slope. On this path we come after about 80 min. to an abandoned village. Here you enter the riverbed and follow it downhill. You come to a small precipice, at the foot of which there is a pool covered by rocks. Through a narrow and low chute in the rock you come out of the pool downstream. You can also walk upstream in the streambed and then swim into this pool from below, climb out to the top (fixed rope - 2016) and continue hiking up the river as you wish.

Im Flussbett abwärts. Wieder bei der Autobahnbrücke angekommen, wechseln wir erneut das Ufer und sind wieder beim Auto.

Down the riverbed. Arriving again at the highway bridge, we change banks again and are back at the car.
