Wasserreicher Abseilcanyon mit Rutschmöglichkeiten. Sehr schöner Gneisgestein, sehr sauber, schöne Gumpen, gute Abseiler, angenehme Länge, sehr griffig.

Von Locarno kommend bei Ponte Brola in das Maggia-Tal abbbiegen. Nach ca. 4,5 km überquert man den aus dem Val Grande kommenden Bach und biegt unmittelbar nach der Brücke re. auf einen Feldweg ab. Dieser wird bis zu seinem Ende, die letzten Meter quer durch ein landwirtschaftliches Anwesen, befahren. Nun am Wegesrand oberhalb des Baches Auto abstellen. Eine alternative Zufahrt geht über die Teerstraße, die vor der Brücke re. weggeht. Hier vor der Schranke an geeigneter Stelle parken.

Coming from Locarno, turn into the Maggia Valley at Ponte Brola. After about 4.5 km, cross the stream coming from Val Grande and, immediately after the bridge, turn right onto a dirt road. This is followed to its exit, the last meters across an agricultural estate. Now on the side of the road above the stream park car. An alternative access is via the tarred road that leaves to the right before the bridge. Park here in front of the barrier in a suitable place.

Vom abgestellten Auto auf dem Weg weiter bachaufwärts, re. haltend durch das Anwesen eines "Sammlers" und auf einer Brücke über den Bach. Hier kann man den letzten Teil das Abstiegs gut einsehen. Nach der Brücke auf der Teerstraße aufwärts. Diese kreuzt das Val Grande erneut. Wo man einige Häuser erreicht geht es auf einem Maultierpfad unter Esskastanienbäumen re. hinauf in Richtung Salvabella - zugleich offenbar eine Art Kalvarienbergweg. An einer markanten Linkskurve geht unter Bäumen rechts ein Steig ab. Diesen aber nach wenigen Metern wieder nach re. verlassen und auf undeutlichen Spuren steil hinab zum Bach (Einstieg). Beschreibung, wenn man an der Schranke parkt: Vom Schranken ca. 50m bis zur ersten kl. Steinbrücke (Wasserstandkontrolle!) --> danach Straße entlang über Eisenbrücke mit Holzbalken hoch bis re. Kl. Steinhaus mit Wandermarkierung --> vorbei hinter dem Haus über kl. Holzbrücke --> vorbei an kl. Kapelle --> weiter oben noch mal kl. Holzbrücke und Haus mit Stall --> jetzt sind es nur noch ein paar Hm. bis eine Wegmarkierung am Felsen und re. ein Baum mit einem Loch in der Mitte den Weg zum Bach zeigen (450Hm) --> nach kurzer Wegstrecke über Seilgeländer in das Bachbett absteigen.

From the parked car on the path further upstream, keeping right through the estate of a "collector" and on a bridge over the stream. Here you can easily see the last part of the descent. After the bridge, go up on the tarred road. This crosses the Val Grande again. Where you reach some houses you go up on a mule track under chestnut trees on the right towards Salvabella - at the same time apparently a kind of Calvary path. At a prominent bend to the left, a path branches off to the right under the trees. But leave it after a few meters to the right and on unclear tracks steeply down to the stream (entry). Description if you park at the barrier: From the barrier approx. 50m to the first small stone bridge (water level check!) --> then along the road over iron bridge with wooden beams up to right small stone house with hiking mark --> past behind the house over small wooden bridge --> past small chapel --> further up again small wooden bridge and house with stables --> up again. Wooden bridge and house with stable --> now it's only a few meters until a trail mark on the rock and right. a tree with a hole in the middle show the way to the streambed (450Hm) --> after a short distance descend via rope traverse into the streambed.

Nach dem Einstieg kommen 3 kl. Gumpen mit kurzen Rutschen --> 20m Abseiler li. oder 7m Abseilen und 8m springen (!) --> sehr schöner 30m Abseiler in Großen Gumpen --> ab hier wird die Schlucht etwas enger --> es folgen mehrere Abseiler die durch Fixseile aber immer gut einsehbar sind oder bei mehr Wasserführung alternativen offen lassen --> wer hohe Sprünge in Tiefen Gumpen kommt in dieser Schlucht auf seine Kosten --> am Schluss kommt man wieder zur Steinbrücke wo noch ein schöner 20m Abseiler mit einer 5m Rutsche den Abschluss krönt.

After the entry come 3 small pools with short slides --> 20m rappel left or 7m rappel and 8m jump (!) --> very nice 30m rappel in large pools --> from here the canyon is somewhat narrower --> there are several rappels that are always well visible by fixed ropes or in more water alternatives open --> who high jumps in deep pools comes in this canyon at his expense --> at the end you come back to the stone bridge where another beautiful 20m rappel with a 5m slide crowns the conclusion.
