Von Bern, Interlaken oder von Luzern, Sarnen kommen wir nach Meiringen im Aaretal. Wir fahren nun Richtung Grimselpass und biegen nach gut 2 km rechts ab auf die Scheideggstraße nach Rosenlaui in das Reichenbachtal. Nach dem Weiler Zwirgi müssen wir einen Mautautomaten "füttern". Wir fahren weiter zum Hotel Rosenlaui und stellen unser Auto etwa 300m weiter auf dem Parkplatz für die touristische Begehung der Rosenlauischlucht ab (1360m Höhe - siehe Anfahrt in Fotogalerie).
From Bern, Interlaken or from Lucerne, Sarnen we come to Meiringen in the Aare valley. We now drive in the direction of the Grimsel Pass and after a good 2 km turn right onto the Scheidegg road to Rosenlaui in the Reichenbach valley. After the hamlet of Zwirgi we have to "feed" a toll machine. We continue to the Hotel Rosenlaui and park our car about 300m further on in the parking lot for the tourist walk in the Rosenlaui Gorge (1360m altitude - see approach in photo gallery).

Wir nehmen den Wanderweg zur Engelhornhütte. Auf 1487m Höhe queren wir über die Rosenlauischlucht an deren orograf. rechten Schluchtrand. Der Weg läuft auf einen großen Felsen zu, wo wir dann in die Schlucht einsteigen.
We take the hiking trail to Engelhornhütte. At 1487m altitude we cross the Rosenlauischlucht to its orographic. right canyon rim. The trail walks towards a large rock where we then enter the canyon.

Von einem Baum seilen wir vom Schluchtrand in das hier noch breite Bachbett. Dann beginnen die Abseiler, insgesamt 12. Tiefer und tiefer gräbt sich die Bachsohle ein. Im gleichen Maße wird es düsterer in der Schlucht. Sie endet mit eim 28m-Wasserfall. In dem nun wieder breiten Bachbett abwärts, bis zur nächsten Bacheinmündung von links, vor dem Rechtsknick unseres Baches (siehe Fotos und Videos).
From a tree we rope from the canyon rim into the streambed, which is still wide here. Then the rappels begin, 12 in all. Deeper and deeper the streambed digs itself in. At the same time, the canyon becomes darker. It ends with a 28m waterfall. In the now again wide streambed downward, to the next streambed confluence from the left, before the right bend of our stream (see photos and videos).
