We turn off the A95 (Munich-Garmisch) at the exit Murnau/Kochel and drive to Kochel. Here we take the B11 (Kesselbergstraße) in southern direction (Mittenwald). The road leads us first along the lake and we pass the camping site Renken (on the righthand side of the lake). 300m further on, the road to the Walchensee power station, Aparthotel Alpenpark and Kesselberg campsite turns off to the right (Altjoch). After another 300m the road crosses the Heckenbach (exit, view of the final waterfall). We now drive a little more than 1300m uphill on the B11 and then turn right onto a parking and rest area.

From the parking lot across the B11 in an easterly direction through the terrain cut (Marterl) and down to the stream.

A total of 10 rappels, some of which can be climbed down, some over several steps. After the 3rd rappel left out emergency exit with fixed ropes (2018). At the 5th rappel do not take the rear anchors, but the front ones at the break-off. Attention: After the 6th rappel left up to the belaystation, do not continue rappelling in the chute! The 7th rappel from the belay station at the top left is the longest at just over 16m.Between the rappels short runs and downclimb.

Left out onto the B11, then 150m on the B11 left (westward direction) . Now turn left onto the forest road (Alte Kesselbergstraße) and after 600m we reach our parking lot again.
