Von Corte auf der der T(erritoriale)20 fahren wir etwa 16,5 km Richtung Ajaccio. Unmittelbar vor der neuen Straßenbrücke über den Vecchio (rechts die Eisenbahnbrücke "Pont Eiffel") biegen wir rechts ab auf die D723, die uns in das Verghello-Tal hineinführt. Nach 350m stellen wir unser Auto für den Ausstieg dort ab, wo von links ein Wanderweg herauf kommt. 2,3 km weiter erreichen wir die Brücke über den Ravin de Quarceto. Hier stellen wir das 2. Auto ab.

From Corte on the T(erritoriale)20 we drive about 16.5 km in the direction of Ajaccio. Immediately before the new road bridge over the Vecchio (the "Pont Eiffel" railroad bridge on the right), we turn right onto the D723, which takes us into the Verghello valley. After 350m, we park our car for the exit where a hiking trail comes up from the left. 2.3 km further on we reach the bridge over the Ravin de Quarceto. We park the 2nd car here.

Links des Bachs geht es ein Stück abwärts zum Einstieg. Dann erwartet uns schon die C21. Diese ließe sich vermeiden bei einem Zustieg über die Bergerie de Piferini. Zur Bergiere müssen wir den Wagen etwa 500m vor der Brücke uber den Quarceto abstellen. Ein Fahrweg führt zur Bergerie, von dort ein Pfad hinunter in den Bach (siehe IGN Karte).

To the left of the stream, we descend a little to the entry point. Then the C21 awaits us. This could be avoided by taking the access via the Bergerie de Piferini. We have to park the car about 500m before the bridge over the Quarceto. A road leads to the Bergerie, from there a path leads down into the stream (see IGN map).

Weiter im Quarceto hinab kommen wir zum wasserreichen Verghello. Es folgt eine Flusswanderung mit einigen Sprungmöglichkeiten (ua. ein "Zwangssprung" von 6m Höhe) sowie mehreren weiteren kleinen Abseilern.

Further down the Quarceto we come to the watery Verghello. This is followed by a river walk with several possible jumps (including a "forced jump" of 6m) and several more small rappels.

Bei einem gewaltigen Felsklotz im Bachbett können wir auf einen hier kreuzenden Wanderweg nach links aussteigen und kommen so hinauf zur Straße und dem Auto. Sollten wir den Ausstiegspunkt verpassen, erwartet uns etwa 350m flussab der Vecchio. In diesem abwärts können wir schon bald die Brücken sehen. Nach der alten Straßenbrücke führen rechts hinauf deutliche Spuren zur alten Straße. Über die Brücke an das andere Flussufer und dort weglos hinauf zur D723, dort dann links zum Auto.

At a huge rocky outcrop in the streambed, we can exit to the left onto a hiking trail that crosses here and get up to the road and the car. If we miss the exit point, the Vecchio awaits us about 350m downstream. We can soon see the bridges downstream. After the old road bridge, clear tracks lead up to the old road on the right. Cross the bridge to the other side of the river and follow the path up to the D723, then left to the car.
