Auf der N-240 von Lleida oder auf der A-138 von Frankreich durch debn Tunnel von Bielsa über Ainsa nach Barbastro. Auf der Umgehungsstraße um die Stadt herum und auf der N-240 weiter in Richtung Huesca. Ungefähr 22 km nach Barbastro zweigen wir rechts auf die A-1229 ab. Über Abiego und Bierge (nach Abiego links abbiegen) kommen wir nach Rodellar (ca. 30 km ab der Abzweigung von der N-240).

In Rodellar der Beschilderung zum Barranco Mascun folgen. Wir kommen hinunter zum Bach, queren diesen und kommen zur Quelle auf der rechten Seite. Weiter geht es nordwärts, wir passieren den Bco Fornocal de Andrebot, wo man Richtung Barrasil und Gorgas Negras hinaufsteigt und kommen dann nach längerer Wegstrecke am orograf. linken Ufer zu der Stelle, wo der Weg den Bachlauf kreuzt, um jenseits hinauf zu ziehen In Richtung Otin.
Wir bleiben hier jedoch unten und starten hier zur eigentlichen Begehung des Mascun inf., indem wir weiter aufsteigen über die Einmündung des Bco. Otin hiaus bis zu der Stelle, wo sich der Mascun sup. nach seiner letzten Engstelle mit dem letzten Abseiler öffnet.
Alternativ besteht auch die Möglichkeit, zur verlassenen Ortschaft Otin aufzusteigen und dann über die Schulternördlich vom Bco. de Otin jenseits den Weg in den Bco. Mascun abzusteigen. Je nach Lust und Kondition kann man dann erstmal links aufwärts steigen oder sofort - im Hochsommer ggf. nach einem Bad in der Karstquelle am Fuß des Otin - zurück zu marschieren in Richtung Rodellar.
In Rodellar, follow the signs to Barranco Mascun. We descend to the stream, cross it and reach the spring on the right. Continuing northwards, we pass the Bco Fornocal de Andrebot, where we climb towards Barrasil and Gorgas Negras and then, after a long stretch on the orographic left bank, we come to the point where the path crosses the stream to go up the other side towards Otin.
However, we stay down here and start the actual ascent of the Mascun inferiore by climbing further up over the confluence of the Bco. Otin up to the point where the Mascun superiore opens up after its last narrow section with the last rappel.
Alternatively, it is also possible to climb up to the abandoned village of Otin and then descend via the shoulders north of the Bco. de Otin on the other side of the path into the Bco. Mascun. Depending on your mood and physical condition, you can then climb up to the left or - in high summer, possibly after a dip in the karst spring at the foot of the Otin - hike back towards Rodellar.

Die überwiegende Zeit läuft man, einige längere Gumpen sind bei Wasserdurchsatz zu durchschwimmen, auch unter dem "El Beso" (der Kuss) durch. Es gilt ein Chaos zu überwinden, schwierigere Passagen lassen sich umgehen, zB nach dem Wasserfall, der vom Otin herunterprasselt. Der Aufstieg endet schließlich am letzten Abseiler des Mascun Superior.
Nach einer verdienten Pause geht es auf dem Anmarschweg wieder zurück.
Most of the time you walk, some longer pools have to be swum through when the water is flowing, including under the "El Beso" (the kiss). There is chaos to overcome, more difficult passages can be avoided, e.g. after the waterfall that pours down from the Otin. The ascent finally exits at the last rappel of the Mascun Superior.
After a well-earned break, you return along the approach route.

Wo der Weg von Otin herunterkommt und das Bachbett kreuzt, steigen wir wieder auf das linke Ufer aus und wir marschieren nach Rodellar so zurück, wie wir etwa 6 bis 7 Stunden vorher gekommen sind.
Where the path comes down from Otin and crosses the streambed, we get out again on the left bank and we march back to Rodellar the way we came about 6 to 7 hours before.

Nur den Inf. zu machen, macht meiner Meinung nach keinen Sinn. Ist zwar nett, aber eher Wandern als Canyoning. Landschaftlich sehr eindrucksvoll.
Just doing the inferiore doesn't make sense in my opinion. It's nice, but more like hiking than canyoning. Very scenic and impressive.
