Von Nizza auf der N 202 norwärts in Richtung Digne. Nach etwa 17 km auf der Brücke Charles Albert über den Var links ab und die D 17 hinauf nach Gilette und auf kurvenreicher Straße weiter hinter im Esteron-Tal nach Roquesteron (ca. 26 km ab Var-Brücke). 3,5 km nach Roquesteron geht es links ab auf die D 10. Nach wiederum 3,5 km geht es über die Brücke beim Ausstieg des Riolan. Hier das Auto am Ausstieg parken.
Mit dem zweiten Fahrzeug geht es zurück zur D 17 und dort links nach Sigale. Durch die Ortschaft und in Serpentinen bergauf. Nach etwa 3,5 km ab Sigale passieren wir die alte Bogenbrücke tief unter uns über den Riolan und 500m weiter kommen wir zum oberen Parkplatz (vergilbte Canyoning-Hinweis-Tafel).
From Nice, head north on the N 202 towards Digne. After about 17 km, turn left at the Charles Albert bridge over the Var and take the D 17 up to Gilette and continue on a winding road behind the Esteron valley to Roquesteron (approx. 26 km from the Var bridge). 3.5 km after Roquesteron, turn left onto the D 10. After another 3.5 km, cross the bridge at the Riolan exit. Park your car at the exit.
Take the second car back to the D 17 and turn left to Sigale. Through the village and uphill in serpentines. After about 3.5 km from Sigale we pass the old arched bridge deep below us over the Riolan and 500m further on we come to the upper parking lot (yellowed canyoning sign).

1. Abschnitt teilweise im Souterrain, keine Abseiler bei normalen Wasserstand. Bei viel Wasser 5 Abseiler. Endet mit der Bogenbrücke. Dann Laufstrecke.
2. Abschnitt im Verlauf zunehmend enger. Keine allzu hohen Abseiler. Einige Rutsch- und Sprungmöglichkeiten nach vorheriger Überprüfung. Das Wasser ist wegen der Schlammschwebestoffe meist naturtrübe.

2nd part increasingly narrower as it progresses. No too high rappels. Some slides and possible jumps after prior inspection. The water is mostly naturally cloudy due to the suspended mud.

Ça yest l’eau vient a manquer en cet fin de juillet ! 90 pourcent des sauts passent encore . Mais presque plus d’eau.. encore 15 jours et il faudra attendre l’an prochain pour faire ce canyon dans des conditions parfaites !À part ça tjr aussi beau même avec moitié moins d’eau ! Approche en mode sanglier, a gauche après le pont sous la ligne téléphonique. La sente n'est pas très lisible ni très continu mais on arrive dans trop se griffer a la route en 45min . Il faut essayer de ne pas trop s'éloigner de la ligne de crête. Ensuite 40min de marche le long de la route et descente dans le canyon après le petit tunnel.Descente intégrale en 3h. Debit entre DC- et petit debit. Aucune difficulté particulière, sortie la corde 4-5 fois. Ambiance somptueuse, etroitures magiques, enchaînement continu d'obstacles tous plus beau les uns que les autres.Top canyon a faire une fois dans sa vie

Retour mairie de stationnement anarchiques à l'arrivée et verbalisation par les gendarmes. Bien penser que d'autres véhicules vont se garer après vous et que la circulation déjà pénible sur cette route ne doit pas être dérangée par nos usages. Fait aujourd'hui avec www.couleurcanyon.fr. On a pas fait grand-chose dans l'actif. À la chatière on est passé hors d'eau Rive Droite, la vasque n'était pas très accueillante, l'eau coulait sur la dalle du rappel Rive Gauche. Après le pique-nique, on est passé dans le canyon sec rive droite. Au pied du rappel en dalle de l'après-midi, on a escaladé rive Gauche pour sortir et éviter le petit toboggan qui suit parce que ça drossait à droite. Ici on aurait bien aimé avoir des ancrages pour se sécuriser, sinon tout le reste est bien équipé pour passer hors d'eau. Le repère de la petite marmite sous le pont du Riolan était entièrement sous l'eau. Pas compris les changements mentionnés précédemment par Guigui, . A faire en connaissant bien le canyon, si on aime l'eau vive et grimper un peu partout, une chouette aventure. Et petit plus, la fameuse mousse était au rendez-vous et en quantité, on a les cheveux tout propres. ;-)

Encore un peu trop tôt. On est passé en connaissant vraiment très bien le canyon, en utilisant TOUTES les lignes pour éviter l'eau. La plupart des cascades sont impraticables. Dans le premier encaissement au premier rappel, la configuration a changé et il faut désescalader loin a gauche. la suite du canyon n'a pas changé et tous les ancrages sont encore là. Quelques arbres coincés à 10m de haut rappellent qu'un bon orage peut faire monter le débit sur le sol détrempé. Réseau 4G disponible quasiment tout le long du canyon. Faudrait qu'il arrête de pleuvoir chaque jour pour que ça baisse

DC- A noter en première partie (avant le pont d'où démarrent les guides) un relais qui n'est plus accessible. Le dénivelé se fait avant Sigale ensuite le Gr devient horizontal puis descend gentiment jusqu'au cours d'eau. Beaux paysages.La chatière est partiellement recouverte d'eau (trou bien visible). Débit qui semble baisser assez vite au vu des commentaires précédents. Tout passent très bien pas de difficultés particulières. Croisé un groupe pro sur la fin sinon personne à l'horizon. Présence de nombreuses couleuvres à collier tout le long du parcours plus particulièrement à la fin. Fait en 2h45.

Tout passe comme les années précédentes, sauts, toboggans, RAS. Avec ce débit tout passe dans l'actif si on aime jouer avec les courants. Seulement 2 obstacles franchis hors d'eau : le 1er grand rappel passé RG et la chatière. Attention au pied du 1er grand rappel, le siphon sous le bloc est entièrement immergé avec beaucoup de courant, éviter ce siphon est une bonne idée. La chatière est totalement sous l'eau. Le siphon dans la vasque de la chatière passe en apnée mais il y a un petit tronc qui gêne un peu. Grimper au-dessus du bloc se fait aussi facilement. Après le 1er rappel de l'après-midi, beaucoup de rochers sont tombés RG, sans conséquence sur la progression mais à surveiller… Toujours de la mousse dégueulasse par endroit… Enjoy !

Fait à 2. On a enlevé la souche qui bloquait la chattière, maintenant c'est tout propre !On est allé tester le drossage en dessous qui n'est pas "méchant" avec ce débit.Quand nous sommes passés, le siphon qui suit était clair...à vérifier avant de se lancer dedans.

Un riolan qui restera dans les mémoires ! Gros débit en première partie, pas de gros problèmes rester vigilant ne pas hésiter à poser les MC ou prendre les rappel hord d'eau. Après le pont, marche d'accès OK. Prendre toutes les mains courantes et ça passe relativement bien. A partir du passage de la bicyclette ou machine à laver, TRES GROS débit et c'est un énorme siphon, descendre en biais RG pour atteindre les ancrages de déviation. Passer en escalade au dessus du bloc siphon (se securiser avec une corde n'est pas un luxe), gros rappel juste après et saut engagé pour eviter de bloquer la corde (ça apprendra, on va acheter un tamponnoir vite...) Après le pic-nic, trop d'eau pour passer dans l'actif, prendre la variante sèche équipée. Passage avant le tunnel (droite/gauche) équiper la MC n'est pas de tout repos mais les ancrages sont au top. Entrée de la dernière étroiture, équiper la main-courante RG (ring en place). Arriver au dernier obstacle en RD par MC saut dans la vasque ronde passe en s'endorment pas sur l'impulsion et sur la nage. On finit par une longue nage, on boit et un coup et on y retourne pas avant 10 bon jours ! 7h passer dans le canyon à 2, il faut rester lucide !

Intégrale avec Alex10 l/s dans la partie 1Plus de débit dans la toute dernière etroiture de la partie 2.Puis 30l/s au final.A noter: l’eau est environ 5 degrés plus chaude au niveau ou du débit réapparaît . Première fois que je constate cela en beaucoup d’années. Certainement du à un débit juste calé pour cela. Les sources sortent au niveau d’une strate meuble, avec une mineralité différente: l’eau passe de vert à bleu gris… étonnant .
