Begangen im Rahmen des RIC Portugal 2026 in Arouca: Gabi, Rille, Elke, Michael, wolfgang. Viel Betrieb, aber keine Staus an den Ständen. Ausstieg über das Gelände der Sekte (?) war erlaubt, Stahltüre stand offen. Parkmöglichkeiten ziemlich ausgereizt.
Held as part of RIC Portugal 2026 in Arouca: Gabi, Rille, Elke, Michael, Wolfgang. Lots of activity, but no crowds at the booths. We were allowed to exit through the “Sekte” (?) grounds; the steel door was open. Parking was pretty much full.

Vom Parkplatz in einer Spitzkehre bei einer kleinen Holzbar geradeaus leicht abfallend bis man auf den von links unten kommenden Wanderweg trifft. Man folgt diesem nach rechts ansteigend ca 30 Minuten bis man auf eine Brücke trifft. Vor der Brücke links neben dem Bach Trittspuren zum ersten Abseiler mit Sprungmöglichkeit. Am zweiten Abseiler aufpassen beim Sprung. Etwas Aufsteigen und in Richtung des gegenüber liegenden einkaufenden Schwall springen. Der Rückweg führt durch einen Tunnel .
From the parking lot, head straight ahead on a slight downhill slope past a small wooden bar until you reach the hiking trail coming up from the left below. Follow this trail to the right, ascending for about 30 minutes until you reach a bridge. Before the bridge, to the left of the stream, follow the footprints to the first rappel, where there is a possible jump. Be careful when jumping from the second rappel. Climb up a bit and jump toward the converging waterfall on the opposite side. The return route leads through a tunnel.

Nach einer Sprungmöglichkeit direkt am Einstieg bei einer Brücke lange Laufstrecken im Wasser mit Grasbüschel und auf und ab über Felsen und viele Stolpersteine. Guter Grip. Viele kleine Gumpen. Gegen Ende eine Sprungstelle mit angeklebtem Stein. Wassertiefe unbedingt prüfen. Der Ausstieg links war durch zertreten Ebene rechts zu vermuten. Nicht leicht erkennbar. Man muss sich an der Hochspannungsleitung direkt oben drüber orientieren. Shorty reicht im Sommer, Wasser in den Gumpen ist warm.
After a possible jump right at the entry near a bridge, there are long stretches of swimming through water with tufts of grass, and the path goes up and down over rocks and many trip hazards. Good traction. Many small pools. Toward the end, there’s a possible jump with a rock attached to it. Be sure to check the water depth. The exit on the left was likely the trampled-down area on the right. Not easily recognizable. You have to use the high-voltage power line directly above it as a landmark. A shorty wetsuit is sufficient in summer; the water in the pools is warm.

Bin den Canyon nicht gegangen wollte aber ergänzen dass man am Einstiegsparkplatz bis zu drei Tagen offiziell mit dem Camper stehen darf.
I didn't hike the canyon, but I wanted to add that you're officially allowed to park your RV at the parking entry for up to three days.

Am Anfang etwas mühsames Schluchtenwandern. Im weiteren Verlauf 5 sehr gut eingerichtete Abseilstellen. Der 4. Abseiler führt in eine turbulente Gumpe , orografisch links findet man auch einen guten Kettenstand. Nach dem letzten Abseiler wieder etwas Schluchtenwandern bevor man rechts auf den gut sichtbaren breiten Ausstiegsweg trifft.
The route starts with some somewhat strenuous canyon hiking. Further on, there are 5 very well-equipped rappelling points. The 4th rappel leads into a turbulent pool; on the orographic left, there is also a good chain anchor. After the last rappel, there is some more canyon hiking before you reach the clearly visible, wide exit trail on the right.

Etwas mehr als normaler Wasserstand an Engstellen aber gut machbar. Alle Sprünge machbar.
The water level is slightly higher than usual in the narrow sections, but it’s still manageable. All the rapids are navigable.

Achtung...immer wieder Mal etwas rutschig... Oben gibt es 2 Parkplätze vor und hinter der Brücke. Wir haben keinen Haken bei der Stufe unter der Brücke gesehen. Hier kann man auch aussteigen. Wer weiter will orografisch rechts vom Wasserlauf springen. Danach gibt es noch eine Abseilstelle bevor der Bach in den Anza mündet . Hoher Sprung rechts möglich mit etwas vorspringen..
Attention...always a bit slippery... At the top there are 2 parking lots in front of and behind the bridge. We didn't see an anchor at the steps under the bridge. You can also get off here. If you want to go further, jump orographic to the right of the watercourse. Then there is another abseiling point before the stream flows into the Anza. A high jump to the right is possible with a little jumping ahead.

Am Einstieg gibt es mehr Parkplätze als unten. Wer nur die letzten drei schönen Abseilern die man von der Straße sieht machen will, kann von unten auf einem Wanderweg hochlaufen.
There are more parking spaces at the entry point than at the bottom. If you only want to do the last three beautiful rappels that you can see from the road, you can walk up from the bottom on a hiking trail.

Wenn man auf der Brücke des Wanderweges über dem Isorno ist, ist man zu weit😃 der Weg zum Einstieg ist vor der Brücke zweimal links... Schöner Canyon , Klares Wasser, Tipp.. durch das Loch abseilen.
If you are on the bridge of the hiking trail over the Isorno, you are too far😃 the way to the entry is twice left before the bridge... Beautiful canyon, clear water, tip... rappel through the hole.

Alle Stände OK. Gumpen zugekiest. Keine Sprünge möglich. Vorsichtiges Rutschen war meist möglich. Unterschätztes nettes Kleinod. Achtung .die Metallstruktur ( Edelstahlplatte) gegen Ende orografisch rechts noch vorhanden und war bei diesem Wasserstand gut sichtbar.
All stands OK. Pools covered with gravel. No jumps possible. Careful slides were mostly possible. Underestimated nice gem. Attention .the metal structure (stainless steel plate) towards the exit orographic right still present and was clearly visible at this water level.

Die Haken sind in Ordnung. Vermutlich war schon jemand drin . Einen Haken haben wir ersetzt . Achtung!!! Nicht auf oder an der Wiese vor dem vorletzten Haus mit Ferienwohnungen parken. Siehe Foto. Wurden vom Vermieter übel beschimpft. Den beschriebenen Parkplatz gibt es nicht mehr. Parkmöglichkeit evtl unterhalb bei der großen Wiese. Nette enge Schlucht mit 11 abseilen ca 1 Std.
The anchors are fine. Presumably someone has already been in there . We have replaced one anchor . Attention!!! Do not park on or near the meadow in front of the penultimate house with vacation apartments. See photo. We were badly insulted by the landlord. The described parking lot no longer exists. Parking possibly below at the large meadow. Nice narrow canyon with 11 rappels about 1 hour.

Ca 400 m vor der Zemmbachbrücke ist rechts von Mayrhofen kommend eine gute Parkmöglichkeit. Von da ca 5 Minuten zu Fuss der Straße entlang zum Einstieg.
Approx. 400 m before the Zemmbach bridge there is a good parking area on the right coming from Mayrhofen. From there it is a 5-minute walk along the road to the entry point.

Sind nur den unteren Teil gegangen. Einstieg an Aussichtspunkt 45 Meter Wasserfall. Danach nur noch 7 Abseiler, max 22 m.
Only walked the lower part. Entry at the 45 meter waterfall viewpoint. After that only 7 rappels, max. 22 m.

Am Ende des ersten Abseilers Baumstamm mit Wurzel und Geäst Zwischenstand wegen Braunalge und ehemals existierender, jetzt fehlender Knotenschlinge nicht sicher erreichbar, Sind orografisch rechts mit 60 Meter Seil vorbeigeseilt. Teppich, Getränkekisten, und alle Plastiktüten könnten wir nicht einsammeln😃Tote Tiere gottlob keine gesehen.
At the exit of the first rappel, tree trunk with root and branches, intermediate stand due to brown algae and formerly existing, now missing knot sling not safely accessible, we orographic right with 60 meters rope past. We couldn't collect the carpet, drinks crates and all the plastic bags😃Luckily we didn't see any dead animals.

Vor dem Schluchtbeginn Wasserrinnsal, das mit dem Anfang der Verengung schnell endet. Schön ausgeschliffener Kalkstein, der sich im Sonnenlicht teilweise in's Rötliche färbt. Mehrere Klemmblöcke. Attraktiver als aufgrund der vorhandenen Infos vermutet.
Water rivulet before the start of the gorge, which quickly exits at the beginning of the narrowing. Beautifully polished limestone, some of which turns reddish in the sunlight. Several clamping blocks. More attractive than expected from the available information.
