Sehr unspektakuläre, relativ offene aber durchaus schöne Schlucht. Alle Verankerungen vorhanden und ok. Teilweise wird über Bäume abgeseilt, die dort installierten Schlingen wirken relativ neu und sind in gutem Zustand. Abfolge kurzer aber lohnenswerter Abseiler und einige kleine Rutschen. 20m Seil ausreichend. Notfalls kann fast immer seitlich ausgestiegen werden, daher auch bei schlechtem Wetter möglich und auch für Anfänger und Kinder geeignet. Für den Rückweg sind wir wie im Tiroler Canyoningführer angegeben 50m nach dem letzten Abseiler links raus, das war jedoch zu früh. Der bessere Rückweg ist noch etwas weiter.

A very unspectacular, relatively open but definitely beautiful canyon. All anchors are in place and in good condition. In some sections, you rappel down trees; the slings installed there appear relatively new and are in good condition. A series of short but rewarding rappels and a few small slides. A 20-meter rope is sufficient. If necessary, you can almost always exit to the side, so this route is possible even in bad weather and is also suitable for beginners and children. For the return trip, as indicated in the Tyrolean Canyoning Guide, we exited to the left 50 meters after the last rappel—but that was too early. The better return route is a bit further on.

Sehr beeindruckende Tour. Begehung bei vergleichsweise geringen Wasserstand, dennoch extrem aquatisch und sehr anspruchsvoll. Wirklich nur für erfahrene Canyonauten die sich im Weißwasser wohlfühlen empfohlen. Tourenbeschreibung ist großteils korrekt. Gleich nach dem Einstieg zwei Stellen mit Baumverhau und sehr gefährlichem Sog unter die Bäume rein, aber mit Seil machbar. In der ganzen Tour fast keine Haken vorhanden, aber eigentlich immer genug Holz um ein Seil zu legen (Achtung auf Seilklemmer). Bei 2 der nur 3 vorhandenen Haken wurden die Ösen von uns erneuert und gefährlich durchgescheuerte Reepschnüre emtfernt. Haken an sich wirken noch gut. Rücklauf im großen Becken nach dem etwas höheren Abseiler war ok, ging auch ohne Treibanker. Die letzte Passage ist sehr eindrucksvoll, zum Glück kann der große Wasserfall rechts etwas umgangen werden (von oben vom Stand aus nicht einsehbar). Es empfiehlt sich für diese Stelle die Mitnahme eines lang genugen Seiles (40m) um genügend Spielraum für entsprechende Seiltechniken oder den Aufbau einer Seilbahn zu haben. Dem Seilgeländer kurz vor Ausstieg ist nicht mehr zu vertrauen, hier sollte zusätzlich gesichert werden. Insgesamt wirklich anspruchsvoll aber bei Wasserstand nach längerer Trockenperioden machbar. Noch 10cm Wasser mehr und einige Stellen sind wahrscheinlich nur mehr sehr schwierig passierbar.

A very impressive tour. We ran it when the water level was relatively low, yet it was still extremely aquatic and very challenging. Recommended only for experienced canyoneers who are comfortable in whitewater. The tour description is largely accurate. Immediately after the entry, there are two sections with tree snags and very dangerous undertows pulling you under the trees, but they’re manageable with ropes. There are almost no anchors along the entire tour, but there’s actually always enough wood to set up a rope (watch out for rope snags). At two of the only three existing anchors, we replaced the eyelets and removed dangerously frayed ropes. The anchors themselves still seem to be in good condition. The descent back into the large pool after the slightly higher rappel was fine; it worked even without a drift anchor. The final section is very impressive; fortunately, the large waterfall can be bypassed slightly to the right (not visible from above the belay station). For this section, it’s advisable to bring a rope long enough (40 m) to allow sufficient leeway for appropriate rope techniques or setting up a rope traverse. The rope traverse just before the exit can no longer be trusted; additional belaying is required here. Overall, it’s truly challenging but doable when the water level is low after a prolonged dry spell. Just 10 cm more water, and some sections would likely be very difficult to navigate.

Wunderschöne, extrem enge und tief eingeschnittene Schlucht.Tour in sehr gutem Zustand. Alle Haken vorhanden und gut erreichbar. Teilweise auch Seilversicherungen in gutem Zustand. 2-3 mal etwas Holz zum abklettern, aber nie ein Problem. Mit Fahrrad ist der Zustieg auch leicht machbar. Für obere und untere etwa 3,5h im Canyon. Kurz vor Ende oberer Teil tote Gämse im Bach, danach stinkt das Wasser leider etwas.

A beautiful, extremely narrow, and deeply carved canyon. The route is in very good condition. All anchors are present and easily accessible. Some rope anchors are also in good condition. There are 2–3 spots where you have to downclimb over some wood, but it’s never a problem. The access is also easily manageable by bike. It takes about 3.5 hours to hike through the upper and lower sections of the canyon. Just before the exit of the upper section, there’s a dead chamois in the stream; unfortunately, the water smells a bit after that.
