Fahren Sie nach Le Lauzet-Ubaye. Aval mit Ubaye-Überquerung: Fahren Sie am Dorf vorbei, weiter auf der D900 und am Ende der zweispurigen Straße links zurück und parken Sie an der Abzweigung nach Champanastais. Talwärts ohne Überquerung: Am Ortsausgang von Le Lauzet nehmen Sie die kleine Straße links zur römischen Brücke (die gleiche wie für Sauze/Blache). Nach der Brücke rechts abbiegen, dann in einer deutlichen Haarnadelkurve vor einem Häuserblock rechts parken (1,3 km nach der Brücke). 12,7 km langer Pendelbus. Bergauf: Folgen Sie der D900 bergauf, fahren Sie 1,6 km über die Brücke über den Ubaye und nehmen Sie die kleine Straße links in Richtung Chaudon-Grande Blache. Am Ende der asphaltierten Straße nehmen Sie den rechten Weg bis zum Rand von Les Cluots (große Wiese).
Drive to Le Lauzet-Ubaye. Aval with Ubaye crossing: Drive past the village, continue on the D900 and at the exit of the two-lane road turn left and park at the turn-off to Champanastais. Down the valley without crossing: On leaving Le Lauzet, take the small road on the left to the Roman bridge (the same as for Sauze/Blache). After the bridge, turn right, then park in a sharp hairpin bend in front of a block of houses on the right (1.3 km after the bridge). 12.7 km long shuttle bus. Uphill: Follow the D900 uphill, drive 1.6 km over the bridge over the Ubaye and take the small road on the left towards Chaudon-Grande Blache. At the exit of the paved road, take the right-hand path to the edge of Les Cluots (large meadows).

Man nimmt den Ludwigskopf-Pfad in Angriff, der nach der Umrundung der Wiese nach Norden führt und eine große Felsformation umgeht. Nach den letzten Serpentinen mündet der Weg in einer Rechtsnadel am Rand einer Wiese, die von zwei Gebäuden (Schäferei, Alt. 1753) dominiert wird. An dieser Stelle verlassen Sie den Weg und folgen einem Pfad, der im hohen Gras kaum sichtbar ist und horizontal unter den Gebäuden hindurchführt. Am Ende der Wiese führt der Weg weiter durch die Bäume und bald sieht man ein einzelnes Haus auf der linken Seite unterhalb des Weges. An diesem Punkt steigen Sie fast bis zu diesem Haus hinab und gehen waagerecht auf dem Pfad weiter, der nun besser zu erkennen ist. Etwa 130 m später, auf einer sehr vagen Kuppe und auf einer Höhe von 1700 m, beginnt ein steiler Abstieg (auf einem ziemlich sichtbaren Pfad) durch den Wald. Nach 5 Minuten erreicht man das erste Hindernis. Der Abschnitt zwischen dem Pfad des Kopfes von Ludwig XVI, den man an einer Rechtsnadel verlässt, und dem "Eintauchen" in den Wald auf Höhe 1700 ist auf der IGN-Karte im Maßstab 1:25.000 gestrichelt eingezeichnet. Man sollte beachten, dass man nach dem isolierten Haus, wenn man den Pfad (der sich nach und nach verbessert) zu weit nach rechts fortsetzt, eine Schlucht kreuzt (ravin du Vallon, Höhe 1648), die man zunächst über die Flanke am G-Ufer (steil) hinabsteigen kann, und dann bestenfalls eine 10 m lange Abseilstelle gegen Ende.
Take the Ludwigskopf path, which leads north after circling the meadow and bypasses a large rock formation. After the last hairpin bends, the path joins a right-hand needle at the edge of a meadow dominated by two buildings (Schäferei, Alt. 1753). At this point, leave the path and follow a path that is barely visible in the tall grass and leads horizontally under the buildings. At the exit of the meadow, the path continues through the trees and soon you will see a single house on the left below the path. At this point, descend almost to this house and continue horizontally on the path, which is now easier to see. About 130 m later, on a very vague crest and at an altitude of 1700 m, a steep descent begins (on a fairly visible path) through the forest. After 5 minutes you reach the first obstacle. The part between the path of the head of Louis XVI, which you leave at a right-hand pin, and the "plunge" into the forest at altitude 1700 is marked with a dashed line on the 1:25,000 scale IGN map. Note that after the isolated house, if you continue along the path (which gradually improves) too far to the right, you will cross a canyon (ravin du Vallon, altitude 1648), which you can descend first via the flank on the G bank (steep), and then at best a 10 m abseil towards the exit.

Eine Vielzahl von Abseilstellen zwischen 4 und 30 m, von denen einige unter normalen Bedingungen etwas wässrig sind. Kein Schwimmen, keine Sprünge, aber herrliche Einbuchtungen. Historischer Überblick M André, Juli 1983. Anmerkungen Ohne Pendelbus: Parkplatz in Les Cluots. Am Zusammenfluss etwa 200 m am rechten Ufer des Ubaye aufsteigen, der Weg beginnt zu steigen. In einigen Serpentinen erreichen Sie den Weiler Les Herbez auf Höhe 1225, dann leicht ansteigend nach rechts, überqueren Sie die gleichnamige Schlucht (es ist die gut markierte Schlucht am Anfang des Anmarschs), dann noch einmal quer nach rechts, bis Sie La Grande Blache erreichen. Mit einem Schnitt erreichen Sie Les Cluots. 1h20.
A variety of abseils between 4 and 30 m, some of which are a little watery under normal conditions. No swims, no jumps, but magnificent indentations. The time for the descent will quickly depend on your knowledge of rappel, so you won't waste any time. Some waterfalls are equipped out of the water. In a few hairpin bends, you reach the hamlet of Les Herbez at altitude 1225, then slightly uphill to the right, cross the canyon of the same name (it is the well-marked canyon at the beginning of the approach), then cross again to the right until you reach La Grande Blache. Über die Ubaye und weiter zum Auto. Sollte die Ubaye zu viel Wasser für eine gefahrlose Querung führen, nehmen wir den Weg am rechten Ufer flussab bis zur nächsten Brücke.
Cross the Ubaye and continue to the car. If there is too much water in the Ubaye for a safe crossing, we take the path on the right bank downstream to the next bridge.
