In Rovio, you can park on Via San Felice in the large square (45°55'56.4"N 8°59'14.2"E) or further ahead where the trail to the Cascata del Botto begins (45°55'55"N 8°59'24.7"E).

From the parking lot, head to the upper part of the village and take Via Generoso, at the end of which several trails begin. At the fork, follow the signs to Alpe Perostabbio and reach the locality of Al Pra da Piòda. At the top of the meadow, a trail branches off from the main path and enters the small valley on the right to reach the Buco della Sovaglia (45°56'01.7"N 9°00'15.9"E). The stream originates from the cave, and following it leads quickly to the first vertical drop. About 30 minutes for 220 m of ascent.

After the Cascata del Botto, follow the obvious trail to the right to return to Rovio, about 10 minutes for 40 m of ascent.

Flow assessment: from Rovio, descend to the Cascata del Botto following the marked trail. The waterfall is also visible from the road ascending to Rovio, at the hairpin just after the bridge over the Sovaglia at 315 m (binoculars are useful). The flow is highly variable; early in the season the stream is often impassable, while by late summer it often reduces to a small trickle.
