Extrem eng eingeschnittene Schlucht die zwar keine spektakulären Sprünge aufweist, aber durch ihre landschaftliche und aquatische Eindrücke glänzt. Tour nur bei absolut stabilem Wetter und geringem Wasserstand gehen !!! Ein Gewitter im Zanaikessel hätte fatale Folgen. Das Wasser verändert das Bachbett ständig. Viele Stände sind oft meterweit vom Schluchtboden entfernt weil sich das Bett gesenkt hat. Unbedingt ausreichend Notmaterial mitnehmen!

A thunderstorm in the Zanaikessel would have fatal consequences. The water changes the streambed constantly. Many stands are often meters away from the canyon floor because the bed has sunk. Be sure to take enough emergency material with you!

Ostschweiz, Bad Ragaz, Valens. Ca. 1 km nach Valens führt die Straße über den Zanaibach. Spärliche Parkmöglichkeiten unmittelbar vor und nach der Brücke.
Eastern Switzerland, Bad Ragaz, Valens. Approx. 1 km after Valens the road leads over the Zanaibach. Sparse parking immediately before and after the bridge.

Auf der orographisch rechten Seite des Baches folgt man einem Wanderweg bis man über eine Holzbrücke auf die andere Seite der Schlucht gelangt. Nach weiteren 200m einen dünnen Steig in die Schlucht folgen und knapp vor einer Erosionsrinne ca. 25m von einem Baum ins Bachbett abseilen.
On the orographic right side of the canyon follow a hiking trail until you reach the other side of the canyon via a wooden bridge. After another 200m follow a thin path into the canyon and rappel about 25m from a tree into the streambed just before an erosion gully.

Abseilstand für den höchsten Wasserfall (45m) befindet sich rechts hinter der Kante, Sicherungshaken für Quergang rechts im Winkel. Weiter unten werden die Abseilstellen niedriger aber aquatischer. 2014 waren im Bereich der alten Brücke viele verkeilte Bäume - Abklettern in der Wasserführung nicht einfach. Abseil station for the highest waterfall (45m) is located on the right behind the edge, belay hook for traverse on the right in the angle. Further down, the rappels become lower but more aquatic. Kurz vor der Straßenbrücke links über einen bewachsenen Steilhang aussteigen.
Just before the road bridge, get off to the left over an overgrown steep slope.
