Von Ribeira Brava aus Richtung Serra de Agua vor dem Ort auf die ER 105 Richtung Encumeada Pass. 1,3 km links hoch Richtung Faja dos Vinhaticos abbiegen (das Schild ist meist überwachsen). Der Straße bis zur Brücke über den Bach folgen. Hier parken.

From Ribeira Brava in the direction of Serra de Agua, before the village, take the ER 105 towards Encumeada Pass. Turn left 1.3 km uphill towards Faja dos Vinhaticos (the signs are mostly overgrown). Follow the road to the bridge over the stream. Park here.

Vom Parkplatz kann man eine kleine Stahlbrücke über den Bach erkennen, diese überqueren und dem Weg nach rechts folgen. Am Ende wieder rechts und diesem Weg immer folgen. Ein Stück nach dem Wald nach der zweiten Stahlbrücke verliert er sich kurz im Bewuchs, taucht aber nach der Ruine rechts hoch wieder auf. Diesem folgen wir bis zur Betonpiste, hier links und am Ende zum Bachbett absteigen. (30 min)

From the parking lot you can see a small steel bridge over the stream, cross it and follow the path to the right. At the exit, turn right again and follow this path. A little way after the forest, after the second steel bridge, it gets lost in the vegetation, but reappears after the ruins on the right. Follow this until you reach the concrete track, turn left here and descend to the streambed at the exit. (30 min)

Die Tour beginnt mit zwei Abseillinien links und rechts des Grates. dann vereinigen sich beide Stränge und es folgt der mit 16 Metern höchste und schönste Abseiler. Nach gut 200 Metern Laufstrecke geht es mit dem Abseilen weiter, nach einer manchmal fast trockenen Passage (hier wird das meiste Wasser in eine Levada abgeleitet) ändert sich aufgrund mehrerer Zuflüsse der Charakter der Schlucht von offen und kahl zu etwas eingeschnitten und sehr grün. Nach einigen weiteren Abseilstellen ist die erste Stahlbrücke vom Anweg erreicht. Der Canyon ist seit August 2024 vollständig mit Klebehaken ausgerüstet.

The tour begins with two rappel lines to the left and right of the ridge. Then the two lines join and the highest and most beautiful rappel follows at 16 meters. After a good 200 meters of running, the rappel continues. After a sometimes almost dry passage (most of the water is diverted into a levada here), the character of the canyon changes from open and bare to somewhat incised and very green due to several tributaries. After a few more abseils, the first steel bridge is reached from the approach path. The canyon has been fully equipped with glued anchors since August 2024.

Die Schlucht ist aufgrund von diversen Zuflüssen und aufgrund ihrer verhältnismäßig niedrigen Lage auch bei geringen Niederschlägen Hochwassergefährdet!

Due to various tributaries and its relatively low location, the canyon is at risk of flooding even with low rainfall!
