Wir verlassen die SS 33 (Gravellona - Domodossola), die das Ossola - Tal hinaufzieht, über die Ausfahrt Piedimulera und fahren in westlicher Richtung auf der SS549 in das Val d'Anza Richtung Macugnaga. Nach 20,5 km (ab Ausfahrt SS 33) durchqueren wir die Ortschaft Ceppo Morelli. 2,2 km weiter geht die Straße hinauf zur Ortschaft Mondelli rechts ab. Wir fahren aber zunächst noch 850m auf der SS549 weiter und stellen unser Auto für den Ausstieg an der Brücke über den Rio Mondelli ab (nur Kleinwagen). Hier hängt für den Ausstieg aus dem Bach auf die Brücke orogr. rechts ein Fixseil. Normalgroße Autos fahren ca. 400m weiter durch den Tunnel und parken dort in der großen Parkmöglichkeit. Danach fahren wir zurück und links hinauf in die Ortschaft Mondelli (1190 m üNN). Am Ende der Fahrstraße stellen wir das obere Auto auf dem Parkplatz vor dem Dorf ab.

We leave the SS 33 (Gravellona - Domodossola), which runs up the Ossola valley, via the Piedimulera exit and head west on the SS549 into the Val d'Anza towards Macugnaga. After 20.5 km (from the SS33 exit), you pass through the village of Ceppo Morelli. 2.2 km further on, the road turns right up to the village of Mondelli. However, we continue on the SS549 for another 850 m and park our car for the exit at the bridge over the Rio Mondelli (small cars only). There is a fixed rope on the orographic right for the exit from the stream onto the bridge. Normal sized cars drive about 400m further through the tunnel and park in the large parking lot. Then drive back and left up to the village of Mondelli (1190 m above sea level). At the exit of the road, we park the upper car in the parking lot in front of the village.

14-15 Abseiler in einem zT. recht engen und wasserreichen Abstieg. An der Doppelstufe oberhalb des großen Blocks soll ein durchgehendes Abseilen über 60m angenehmer sein als den Umsteiger zu verwenden. 2017 wurde nach den ersten 6 Abseilstellen ein Wehr mit Wasserableitung gebaut das etwa 3/4 der Wassermenge entnimmt. Der untere Teil der Schlucht ist damit deutlich leichter geworden. Beim Wehr kann nach rechts ausgestiegen werden (Steinmänner und undeutlicher Steig). Am letzten Wasserfall unbedingt darauf achten, dass sich kein Knoten oberhalb des Seilschutzes befindet.

14-15 rappels in a partly quite narrow and watery descent. At the double step above the large block, a continuous rappel over 60m should be more pleasant than using the transfer. In 2017, a dam with water drainage was built after the first 6 abseiling points, which removes about 3/4 of the water. This has made the lower part of the canyon much easier. At the dam, you can exit to the right (cairns and unclear path). At the last waterfall, make absolutely sure that there is no knot above the rope protection.
