Either from the direction of Cuneo or from the Roya Valley we come to Borgo San Dalmazzo. From here we take the SS21 and go up the valley of the Stura di Demonte via Demonte and Vinadio, to Sambuco. For the approach of the parking lot in Sambuco see in photo gallery. Parking is regulated here - next to the "blockhouse".

From the parking lot we follow the road (Via Colle del Mulo) in a northeasterly direction (Vallon de la Madonna). After about 400m, a path branches off to the right that leads over a bridge to the other bank of the stream. We ignore this and stay on the orographic right bank. After another 400m our path crosses to the other bank. We follow the red-white markings and climb in always constant relatively small distance to the brook in many serpentines upward. At about 1740m the path leads out of the forest and a view of the upper waterfalls opens up. Above them we climb into the path.

About 15 rappels await us, starting with the impressive C23. Here, a ropeway could be helpful in case of strong water flow. The canyon is subsequently narrowly cut. Where it opens up again, a few more steps await us that are not belayed but can be bypassed. Then we pay attention to a barely recognizable pad that crosses the stream. We exit here to the left.\n

After a few meters we come across our approach path and follow it back down to the car.\n\who wants to indulge in a bit of pioneering variety gets off to the right instead of to the left. Again, a path leads down to Sambuco to the car (see photo gallery).
