Von Bastia auf der N193 ca. 20 km südwärts, dann bei dem Kreisverkehr hinter Casamozza in Richtung Corte, Ajaccio, den Golo entlang. Nach 8,5 km erreicht man Barchetta. 4 km weiter unmittelbar nach einer Eisenbahnbrücke das untere Auto abstellen. Wenn man mit Umsetzung arbeiten will, was ich nicht unbedingt empfehlen kann: Mit dem zweiten Auto von Barchetta (östliches Ende des Dorfes) auf der D15 in nördlicher Richtung auf kurvenreicher Straße hinauf nach Volpajola und von da eben den Berghang entlang, in Richtung Campitello. 4 km nach der Ortschaft passieren wir ein Bergerie-Gebäude zur Rechten. 500m weiter sind wir bei der Brücke über den Cippetto. Nun fahren wir aber wieder 300m zurück und stellen das obere Auto auf dem breiten Bankett neben der Kurve ab. Umsetzungsstrecke: 10,5 km.

From Bastia on the N193 approx. 20 km southwards, then at the traffic circle behind Casamozza in the direction of Corte, Ajaccio, along the Golo. After 8.5 km you reach Barchetta. 4 km further on, immediately after a railroad bridge, park the lower car. If you want to work with conversion, which I do not necessarily recommend: Take the second car from Barchetta (eastern exit of the village) on the D15 northwards on a winding road up to Volpajola and from there just along the mountainside towards Campitello. 4 km after the village we pass a Bergerie building on the right. 500m further on we are at the bridge over the Cippetto. Now we drive back 300m and park the upper car on the wide verge next to the bends. Distance covered: 10.5 km.

Bei Autoumsetzung: Vom Parkplatz führt eine Spur über die erdige Böschung hinab und nimmt Kurs auf den Bach. An diesem, zuerst links, dann rechts entlang hinab bis zu einem markanten Felsriegel, der vom rechten Hang herabzieht. Hier in das Bachbett einsteigen (20 Min.). Ohne Autoumsetzung: Auf der N193 von dortigen Parkplatz etwa 80m weiter. Dabei überqueren wir den Cippetto. Nun rechts ab auf einen Pfad, der in etwa 15 Min. hinaufzieht zu einem Geländeabsatz. Nun sieht man weiter oben am Hang eine Gruppe von Korkeichen. Wenn man diese erreicht hat, fällt der Blick auf eine Bergerie noch weiter oben. Bei den entsprechenden Zustiegsbeschreibungen bei descente-canyon.com und im Buch von Jourdan/Fiorina (unter "Nota") soll nun weiter an der Bergerie vorbei aufgestiegen werden (20 Höhenmeter bis auf 345m üNN), um dann in östlicher Richtung (leicht abfallend) in den Bach zu queren. Der Einstieg erfolgt dann auf 320m üNN und nicht auf 220m üNN, wie bei Jourdan/Fiorina zu lesen (dieser Fehler basiert auf einem falschen Höheneintrag auf der topo-Karte: "229" beim Zusammenfluss von Cippetto und des rechten Zufluss Licciolu). Nach der Google-Karte -satellit- sollte jedoch bereits einige Meter unterhalb der Bergerie eine Querung in den Bach möglich sein und zwar - meiner Meinung nach - ziemlich genau zu dem ersten Abseiler C7 (vgl. Kartenskizze unter "Fotos"). Wie auch immer - der Aufstieg von unten scheint empehlenswerter als der Zustieg von oben mit Autoumsetzung. Auch kommerzielle Guides steigen offenbar von unten auf (ca. 65 Min).

By shuttle: From the parking lot, a track leads down the earthy slope and heads towards the stream. Follow it, first left, then right, down to a prominent rocky ledge that descends from the right-hand slope. Enter the streambed here (20 min.). Without shuttle: Continue on the N193 from the parking lot there for about 80m. Cross the Cippetto. Now turn right onto a path that climbs up to a ledge in about 15 minutes. Now you can see a group of cork oaks further up the slope. Once you have reached these, you can see a mountain farm even further up. According to the descriptions of the approach at descente-canyon.com and in the book by Jourdan/Fiorina (under "Nota"), you should now climb further past the bergerie (20 meters up to 345m above sea level) and then cross the stream in an easterly direction (slightly downhill). The entry is then at 320m above sea level and not at 220m above sea level, as can be read in Jourdan/Fiorina (this error is based on an incorrect altitude entry on the topographic view: "229" at the confluence of the Cippetto and the right tributary Licciolu). According to the Google map -satellite-, however, a crossing into the stream should already be possible a few meters below the Bergerie and - in my opinion - pretty much exactly to the first rappel C7 (see map sketch under "Photos"). However, the ascent from below seems more recommendable than the access from above with shuttle. Commercial guides apparently also ascend from below (approx. 65 min).

Zunächst einige kleinere Abseiler (beginnend mit der C7) und Rutschen, dann die C22 (mit Handlauf). Nach einigen weiteren Stufen kommt man an die C50. Hier gibt es offenbar inzwischen verschiedene Zwischenstände. Bei meiner Begehung (2003) war der etwa mittige Umsteiger so ungünstig plaziert, dass wir die 50m durchgeseilt haben. Nun - auch nach der folgenden C5 - kann man rechts aussteigen auf einen relativ deutlichen Pfad, der zur N193 hinunterführt, wenn man sich den weiteren Abstieg in einer Art Waldgraben schenken will.

First some smaller rappels (starting with the C7) and slides, then the C22 (with handrail). After a few more steps, you get to the C50. Here, apparently, there are now various intermediate stands. During my ascent (2003), the roughly central transfer was so awkwardly placed that we roped through the 50m. Now - also after the following C5 - you can exit to the right on a relatively clear path that leads down to the N193, if you want to spare yourself the further descent in a kind of forest canyon.
