Wir verlassen die AP-7 - Autopista del Mediteráneo, Tarragona nach Valencia - kurz vor Erreichen des Ebro und fahren über die C-12 nordwärts nach Tortosa (nicht ganz 20 km bis Stadtmitte). In der Ortschaft fahren wir weiter auf der C-12 nordwärts in Richtung Lleida. \nAm großen Platz "Plaça de la Corona d'Aragó" - noch vor Erreichen des Einkaufszentrums auf der rechten Seite - biegen wir links ab in die Av. Ports Tortosa-Beseit. Zunächst fahren wir über Roquetes, nehmen dann den Cami de Caro in vielen Serpentinen hinauf in das Hochtal am Fuße des Monte Caro - 19,6 km ab Tortosa.
Wo sich sie Straße hier verzweigt, nehmen wir nicht die Straße links hinauf zum Monte Caro, sondern halten uns rechts. Nach 170 m biegen wir erneut rechts ab und fahren in leichtem Rechtsbogen so weit, bis die Straße wieder nach links knickt. Hier stellen wir unser Auto ab (1070 m üNN). Vgl.:

We leave the AP-7 - Autopista del Mediteráneo, Tarragona to Valencia - shortly before reaching the Ebro and take the C-12 northwards to Tortosa (not quite 20 km to the town center). In the town, we continue north on the C-12 towards Lleida. \At the large square "Plaça de la Corona d'Aragó" - before reaching the shopping center on the right - we turn left into Av. Ports Tortosa-Beseit. First we drive via Roquetes, then take the Cami de Caro in many hairpin bends up into the high valley at the foot of Monte Caro - 19.6 km from Tortosa.
Where the road branches off here, we do not take the road on the left up to Monte Caro, but keep to the right. After 170 m, turn right again and drive in a slight right-hand bend until the road bends to the left again. Here we park our car (1070 m above sea level). Cf:

Zu Beginn nicht sehr attraktiv, längere Laufstrecken, sukzessive einige Abseiler. Erst bei Einmündung des Ximenot (650 m üNN) wird der Abstieg attraktiver. Bei einer Marmita Trampa sind wir noch einmal gefordert.
Die Schlucht öffnet sich (ca. 550 m üNN) und wir folgen der Spur am rechten Talrand abwärts. Wir sehen am Boden einen unscheinbaren Wegweiser aus Eisen.
Not very attractive at the beginning, longer running sections, successive rappels. Only at the confluence of the Ximenot (650 m above sea level) does the descent become more attractive. At a Marmita Trampa we are challenged once again.
The canyon opens up (approx. 550 m above sea level) and we follow the tracks down the right-hand side of the valley. We see an inconspicuous iron signpost on the ground.

Hier eröffnen sich 2 Möglichkeiten für einen Rückweg. Einmal hinunter und das Tal hinaus. Ist lange, ermüdend und setzt ein zweites Auto am Ende des Vall Figuera voraus.

Fait avec Yonel - nous avons pris l’option entrée par le GR.Canyon en 3 temps : première partie sèche dans les chaos de blocs avec de temps en temps de belles cascades creusées, un premier encaissement très beau et vertigineux avec une résurgence qui coulait (corde de remontée en place dans la marmite piège et en bon état) puis dernier encaissement où une rivière en gros débit se jetait dans un magnifique oscuros. Les 2 dernières cascades étaient un peu délicates avec ce débit mais tout est équipé pour passer la difficulté sans risques. Très bon équipement, c’est le moment d’aller là-bas !Le chemin de retour est super bien cairné au départ on ne peut pas se tromper. Ça monte très fort au début, on utilise les mains, puis on finit par trouver un bon chemin et enfin le GR emprunté à l’approche. Nous avons mis 2h30 pour remonter à la voiture en prenant notre temps et 45 min d’approche en allant à bon rythme. Autorisation demandée par mail au parc.
