Vertical canyon

You start by taking the classic approach route into Fratarica Canyon. Once you reach the upper part, continue along the trail on the left side, keeping your direction upward. From there, you begin ascending alongside the waterfalls. The path becomes faint and is not always easy to follow. At around 900 meters elevation, you’ll encounter a fixed wire. Follow this wire as it leads you into the forest. The terrain here is steep, and the trail remains poorly defined. There are occasional stone cairns (small piles of rocks) marking the way—use these as your primary navigation aid. Continue following the cairns up to 1030 meters, where the route brings you into the canyon itself. Because this route is not well marked and involves steep terrain, it’s best suited for experienced hikers or climbers with good navigation skills.

A vertical canyon with beautiful rappels and stunning views of the valley in a narrow section. The waterfalls are following one after another combined into 120 meter descend. The highlight of the upper section is a 50-meter rappel, which can be done in two stages. The anchor points were in decent condition during our visit. Spring is a great time to visit, as you can pass through snow tunnels formed by the large amount of snow deposited by winter avalanches. After the upper part you continue in the lower part which is also nice and fun canyon!
