From the Ventimiglia highway exit, drive up the Roya valley to Breil sur Roya. At the exit of the long village, turn left onto the N 2204 towards Sospel. After 2 km, a small road branches off to the right up the orographic right-hand slope of the Maglia. After a tunnel, you reach the bridge over the Morghe with limited parking facilities.

At the bridge, turn right directly down into the stream

Tour (3 h): traduction alternative ➜

A sequence of rappels of varying lengths down to the Magglia, which is reached before the grotto. The high rappel has now been drilled a little more rope-friendly. First rappel 20m to the belay already visible from above just before the short slide towards the edge. Here set up a rope traverse over 4 anchors to the hanging belay on the right. Then rappel 60m from the hanging belay into the pool. It is very difficult to reach this belay directly from above. On the last rappel into the Maglia, you can choose a less delicate rappel option on the right if the Maglia is full of water. Now go through the grotto and path up to the right at the signpost to the access road. You can also continue along the maglia, but you should then park a second vehicle at the bottom of the Roya valley. Or you can park the one available vehicle at the top of the Maglia parking lot, then walk down the road to the entry to the Morghe and after the Maglia take the mule path on the orographic left side back up to the car (keep left at the fork in the path). It is crucial to check the water level of the Maglia beforehand, otherwise you could be in mortal danger in its whirlpools up to the grotto. However, the danger should no longer exist after the gravel has been removed by the mudflow (2020).

About 100 m after the grotto in the Maglia, get out on the right at the marked emergency exit, up to the road and right up to the vehicle (see also "Route description!").

À la fin de morghé, bien bifurquer sur RG apres la C50 pour enchaîner avec une C16 qui vous jete directement dans la maglia aval. Sur les 2 canyons tous les sauts RAS (méritent parfois de bien amortir mais ça passe) À la fin de la maglia si vous ne voulais pas faire de navette, attention le sentier est fermé et cela n’est pas indiqué. Il faut donc remonter à pied via la route (compter une bonne heure sur un rythme soutenu)En ce qui concerne uniquement morghé , canyon qui nécessite de bien connaître les techniques de relais et main courante)Fait en 1h20 à 2. Surtout avec la team Villelaure tout le monde équipe. Un guide nous laisse passer mais sera tjs derrière nous, je le remercie encore d’avoir récupéré du matos perdu dans une vasque. Arrivée dans la Maglia c’est une autre affaire, gros débit. Attention la grotte est dangereuse il fait d’abord passer le tube d’eau puis bien rester à gauche sinon on se trouve collé à la paroi.
