From Nice on the N 202 towards Digne; after 28 km and immediately after a long tunnel, turn off the N 2202 onto the D 2205 and up the Tinée valley. After 18 km and 7.5 km after Pont-de-Cians, turn right and climb 6 km to the village of Marie, where we park.

Continue on the road that becomes a dirt road. In the first left serpentine, a path goes off to the right that goes up and behind the Vallon d'Ullion. One passes the crest of Serre Blanc (920 m a.s.l.). About 200 m further, a path branches off to the right that takes us down to the stream in about 10 min.

The scenic approach alone makes the tour worthwhile. The Vallon d'Ullion is not just a natural forest canyon. The tufa formations overflowing with water are interesting. The pools regularly lack the necessary water depth for slides and jumps.

About 800 m after the last (17 m) rappel, get off at the stone bridge and go right (north) up to Marie, past the St Roche chapel.
