Aus Deutschland: Vorbei an Mittenwald auf der B 2 nach Scharnitz, aus Österreich von Innsbruck vorbei an Seefeld über die B 177. Südöstlich der Isarbrücke abbiegen, die Eisenbahn unterqueren und nach 400m linkerhand Auto auf dem großen Parkplatz abstellen (Gebühr - anno 2017: 6 Euro).

From Germany: Pass Mittenwald on the B 2 to Scharnitz, from Austria from Innsbruck past Seefeld on the B 177. Turn southeast of the Isar bridge, cross under the railroad and after 400m on the left hand side park your car in the large parking lot (fee - anno 2017: 6 euros).

Vom Parkplatz weg folgen wir zunächst einige Meter der Hinterautalstraße, die in's obere Isartal hineinzieht. Wir biegen aber umgehend rechts ab auf die Straße, die in Südlicher Richtung in den Ortsteil Eisack hineinführt. Am Hangfuß knickt die Straße nach rechts und wir nehmen den Weg, der in einem Linksbogen den Hang aufwärts zieht. Wir queren einen Bachlauf und nehmen dann den "Teufelssteig", der von der Piste weg in südlicher Richtung aufwärts führt. Auf 1180m Höhe queren wir "Die erste Klamm" (Bezeichnung aus digitaler AV-Karte 2010) und kommen auf 1250m Höhe zur Teufelslochklamm (AV: "Die ander Klamm"). Hier ist der (obere) Einstieg (1h 15 Min.). Man kann auch auf 1180m Höhe einsteigen - unterer Einstieg. Dazu folgt man der Forstpiste nach der ersten Bachquerung weiter geradeaus. Wir kommen zu einer Stelle, wo rechts ein Wanderweg abgeht ("Tafeleweg", bei AV 2010: "Hochwaldweg"). Er schneidet noch einmal die Forststraße und quert in 1090m Höhe "Die erste Klamm" (AV-Karte 2010). Wir nähern uns im weiteren Aufstieg dem Rand der Teufelslochklamm an und steigen dann steil hinunter in den Bachgrund (unterer Einstieg, 1180m Höhe -50 Min.).

From the parking lot, we first follow the Hinterautalstraße for a few meters, which leads into the upper Isar valley. However, we immediately turn right onto the road that leads south into the Eisack district. At the foot of the slope, the road bends to the right and we take the path that curves up the slope to the left. We cross a stream and then take the "Teufelssteig", which leads away from the slope in a southerly direction. At an altitude of 1180m, we cross "Die erste Klamm" (designation from the digital AV map 2010) and reach the Teufelslochklamm (AV: "Die ander Klamm") at an altitude of 1250m. This is the (upper) entry point (1h 15 min.). You can also enter at 1180m - lower entry. To do this, follow the forest road straight ahead after the first stream crossing. We come to a point where a hiking trail branches off to the right ("Tafeleweg", in AV 2010: "Hochwaldweg"). It intersects the forest road once again and crosses "Die erste Klamm" at an altitude of 1090m (AV map 2010). In the further ascent, we approach the edge of the Teufelslochklamm gorge and then descend steeply into the bottom of the stream (lower entry, 1180m altitude -50 min.).

Abklettern, Laufen, unterbrochen von kleineren Abseilern. Schon vor Erreichen der Brücke steigen wir aus.

Downclimb, walk, interrupted by smaller rappel. Even before reaching the bridge we get off.

Von der Brücke über "unseren" Bach folgen wir nach links dem "Isarsteig", zuletzt steil hinab zu den Häusern von Scharnitz. Am Hangfuß nehmen wir den Pfad der uns westwärts wieder in den Ortsteil Eisack bringt. Einmal auf der Teerstraße geht s auf dem Anmarschweg in nördlicher Richtung zurück zum Parkplatz.

From the bridge over "our" stream we follow the "Isarsteig" to the left, finally steeply down to the houses of Scharnitz. At the foot of the slope we take the path that takes us westward again to the district of Eisack. Once on the tarred road, we take the approach path in a northerly direction back to the parking lot.
