Buy a car access ticket for Val Russein in a restaurant in Sumvitg. Then drive into Val Russein, past the dam wall and on to a junction (1531 m above sea level). Turn left here and park at the very exit.

Approche (30 min): traduction alternative ➜

Cross the Aua da Cavrein stream and hike up on the RG hiking trail until you cross the Aua da Cavrein a second time (altitude 1775 m). Either start just above the bridge or continue for 5 minutes to find an unexplored part that we missed when the canyon opened.

As there is always a high water level in Val Cavrein, it is more of a water gorge with some challenging and impressive-looking abseils. Several exits are possible. The exit offers some very beautiful abseils... Less interesting at the top, best to start at the main entrance.

We had a lot of water and got out right after the grotto. The part above the grotto is not very worthwhile. It is very slippery.
