Von der BAB 95 (München-Garmisch-Partenkirchen) über die Ausfahrt 11 ("Eschenlohe") in östlicher Richtung nach Eschenlohe. Wir queren die B 12 und halten uns in der Ortsmitte von Eschenlohe rechts auf die Garmischer Straße. Wir kommen zu gedeckten Brücke über die Loisach, queren den Fluss und nehmen jenseits dann halblinks die Walchenseestraße. Nach nicht ganz 300m (ab Loisachbrücke) queren wir die Eschenlaine, die an dieser Stelle normalerweise keinen Wasserdurchsatz hat. Nach weiteren 300m knickt die Straße in rechtem Winkel nach SSO. Von hier noch einmal 1100m und wir stellen unser Auto vor dem Fahrverbotsschild rechts am Waldrand ab.
From the BAB 95 (Munich-Garmisch-Partenkirchen) via exit 11 ("Eschenlohe") in eastern direction to Eschenlohe. We cross the B 12 and keep right in the center of Eschenlohe on the Garmischer Straße. We come to a covered bridge over the Loisach, cross the river and then take the Walchenseestraße on the other side half-left. After not quite 300m (from Loisach bridge) we cross the Eschenlaine, which normally has no water flow at this point. After another 300m the road bends in a right angle to SSO. From here another 1100m and we park our car in front of the no driving sign on the right at the edge of the forest.

Wir gehen die Forststraße weiter, kommen bald zu einer Verzweigung, wo wir uns rechts halten ("Walchensee", "Durchs Eschenlainetal", "Heimgarten"). Etwa 1,8 km weiter oder 25 Min. später queren wir die Eschenlaine. 800m weiter (in etwa 15 Min) halten wir uns bei der nächsten Verzweigung links Etwa 200m weiter beginnt rechts oberhalb der Forststraßenböschung ein verwachsener und offensichtlich kaum mehr benutzter Pfad, der uns in südlicher Richtung wenige Höhenmeter auf den quer vor uns liegenden Höhenrücken hinaufbringt. Auf diesem Rücken zunächst in westlicher Richtung bergauf. Dann zieht der alte Pfad in Richtung SSW in den Westhang über der Kessellaine hinein. Wir geben Acht, ihn nicht zu verlieren, klettern mehrfach über Baumstammhindernisse und erreichen schließlich das Bachbett der Kessellaine (Einstieg).
We continue along the forest road, soon come to a junction where we keep to the right ("Walchensee", "Durchs Eschenlainetal", "Heimgarten"). About 1.8 km further or 25 min. later we cross the Eschenlaine. 800m further (in about 15 min.) we keep left at the next fork. About 200m further, an overgrown and obviously hardly used path begins on the right above the forest road embankment, which takes us in a southerly direction a few meters up to the ridge lying across in front of us. On this ridge, first uphill in a westerly direction. Then the old path goes SSW into the western slope above the Kessellaine. We are careful not to lose it, climb several times over tree trunk obstacles and finally reach the streambed of the Kessellaine (entry).

Wandern und Abklettern wechseln sich ab. Dazwischen mehrfach Abseiler und immer wieder Totholz im Bachbett. Aus der Schlucht hinauswandernd sehen wir das Wasser im Kiesbett versickern. Weiter im Kies bis zur Eschenlaine und dort links zur Geschiebebremse mit Brücke.

Hiking and downclimbing alternate. In between, several rappels and deadwood in the streambed again and again. Hiking out of the canyon we see the water seep into the gravel bed. Continue in the gravel to the Eschenlaine and there left to the slide brake with bridge.
