Die Schweizer Autobahn St. Gallen - Sargans (- Chur) bei der Ausfahrt Haag verlassen und westwärts nach Gams und von dort in Richtung Zürich in Serpentinen den Berg hinauf. Oben angekommen durchquert man die Ortschaft Wildhaus und kommt einige Kilometer weiter nach Unterwasser (etwa 17 km ab Autobahnausfahrt Haag). Ggf. mit dem zweiten Auto oben zur Brücke fahren und dort sinnvoll parkieren.

Vom Parkplatz in nördlicher Richtung den Fußweg "zu den Thurwasserfällen" nehmen. Zuerst am orograf. linken Ufer am Bach entlang, bei der Verzweigung aber nicht links im Bachbett weiter zu den Thurwasserfällen, sondern geradeaus aufwärts. Bei der zweiten Häusergruppe geht man das Sträßchen links (westwärts) und erreicht bald die Brücke über den Bach.

Nach dem Einstieg bei der Brücke bald der erste größere Gumpen. Es folgen etwa 7 Abseiler bis max. 13 m, die öfter auch gesprungen werden können, in der nicht sehr tief eingeschnittenen Schlucht. Dann kommt man zu den Thurwasserfällen. Wenn man in der Wasserrinne abseilen will, hängt man 2x30m Seil am Geländer ein. Bei Trockenheit kommt man aber in eine sog. Marmita Trampa, aus der ein Ausstieg nicht ganz einfach ist. Besser geht man einige Stufen abwärts und seilt von der Seite 14 m direkt auf den Standplatz über dem letzten Wasserfall und umgeht so die Marmita Trampa. Dann reicht insgesamt auch die Mitnahme von 2x15 m Seil. Unten dann vom letzten Becken rechts über einzementierte Eisenbügel hoch auf den Touristenweg.

Perfekter Wasserstand, alles reguläre springbar. Bach hatte nach dem Regen am Vortag Wasser bis zum Schluss. Pegel Chlostobel hatte ca. 18 Stunden vorher 1.1m³/s, beim Einstieg dann 0.15m³/s.
Perfect water level, everything regularly jumpable. After the rain the day before, the stream had water right up to the end. The Chlostobel gauge was 1.1m³/s approx. 18 hours before, then 0.15m³/s on entry.

Auf Hydrodaten.sg.ch zeigte es für die Thur (alt st. Johann/Unterwasser/Chlostobel) 0,04m3/sek an.Nass wurden wir bloss beim durchschwimmen des Restwassers in den Pools.Im unteren Teil der Schlucht mussten wir zweimal improvisieren da es zum abklettern arg rutschig war, da könnte das nächste Team vieleicht eine Sanduhr bohren (da es im Winter, mit dem Eis, wohl kaum weniger rutschig sein wird ;-) )
