Trockencanyon, allenfalls nach Starkregen Wasserdurchsatz in der Schlucht selbst. Enge Schlucht zwischen gewachsenen Felwänden. Sehr ästhetisch und kontinuierlich. Vor allem bei Sonneneinfall auf das dann rötliche Gestein beeindruckend. Gut - auch an 1 Tag - zu kombinieren mit dem Kelebekler Vadisi (Butterfly Canyon), in den der Sarpder im weiteren Verlauf mehr als 100m hinabstürzt (anno 2024 noch kein Beschreibung dazu, wahrscheinlich noch nicht eingesichert). Von der an der südlichen Ägäis gelegenen Stadt Fethiye fahren wir etwa 12 km in südlicher Richtung nach Olüdeniz, einer wunderschön an einer Meeresbucht mit Lagune und Sandstrand gelegenen Touristenhochburg. Die Straße führt gegen Ende steil hinab in die Ortschaft. Wo sie beginnt, wieder eben zu verlaufen - etwa 400m vor Erreichen der Küstenpromenade - biegen wir links ab in die Kidiral CD in Richtung Faralya. Die Straße läuft zunächst auf den Hang zu und biegt, sobald sie an dessen Fuß angekommen ist, rechts ab und führt in südlicher Richtung und sukzessive ansteigend über der Küste entlang (Schöner Rückblick auf Olüdeniz). Etwa 3,4 km nach dem Abbiegen auf die Kidiral CD umfahren wir einen direkt an der Küste gelegenen größeren Hotelkomplex. Die Straße steigt nun, teilweise in Serpentinen, steil an und wir erreichen nach insgesamt fast 8 km den Schluchtrand über dem Kelebekler Vadisi. Die Straße verzweigt sich hier, wir halten uns rechts am Schluchtrand und erreichen 1,3 km nach dieser Straßengabelung in einer Rechtsserpentine die Überquerung "unseres" Baches. Hier ist Platz, um 1 Auto abzustellen. Falls hier keine Parkmöglichkeit, etwa 100m weiter auf der rechten Straßenseite weitere Parkmöglichkeit. Mit einem zweiten Auto würden wir wieder 1,3 km zurück fahren zur erwähnten Staßenverzweigung und biegen hier in spitzem Winkel rechts hinauf ab. Nun fahren wir a hier weitere 2,5 km bergauf. Dann biegen wir ziemlich am Ende einer lang gezogenen Linkskurve rechts auf eine Piste ab und kommen so zu unserem Parkplatz für den Einstieg in der nächsten Rechtskurve.

From the town of Fethiye on the southern Aegean, we drive about 12 km south to Olüdeniz, a tourist stronghold beautifully situated on a bay with a lagoon and sandy beach. Towards the exit, the road descends steeply into the village. Where it begins to level out again - about 400m before reaching the coastal promenade - we turn left onto Kidiral CD in the direction of Faralya. The road initially walks towards the slope and, as soon as it reaches the foot of the slope, turns right and heads south, gradually ascending along the coast (beautiful view of Olüdeniz). About 3.4 km after turning onto Kidiral CD, we drive around a large hotel complex located directly on the coast. The road now climbs steeply, partly in serpentines, and after a total of almost 8 km we reach the canyon rim above the Kelebekler Vadisi. The road branches off here, we keep to the right at the canyon rim and reach the crossing of "our" stream 1.3 km after this fork in the road in a right-hand serpentine. There is space to park 1 car here. If there is no parking here, there is another parking space on the right-hand side of the road about 100m further on. With a second car, we would drive another 1.3 km back to the aforementioned road junction and turn right uphill at a sharp angle. We now drive uphill for another 2.5 km. Then, at the exit of a long left-hand bend, we turn right onto a dirt road and arrive at our parking lot for the entry on the next right-hand bend.

Vom Parkplatz (für Einstieg) gehen wir nun die Piste weiter abwärts und kommen nach etwa 550m zur Brücke über den Sarpdere. Nun gehen wir am rechten Bachufer bachab und kommen nach etwa 200m zum Beginn der Einschluchtung - Einstieg. Haben wir nur 1 Auto zur Verügung, kann man der Umsetzungsroute wie beschrieben zu Fuß folgen. Es gibt aber auch die Möglichkeit, über den "Lykischen Weg" zum Einstieg zu kommen. Dazu gehen wir vom Auto auf der Teerstraße weiter in Richtung Faralya. Nach 700m kommen wir zum "Gül Market" (rechterhand). Wenige Meter vorher verlassen wir nun die Straße und folgen der Wegweisung "Watermill Hotel" links aufwärts. Wir passieren die Wassermühle (sie liegt rechterhand) und queren anschließend den Bach, der den Butterfly Canyon im weiteren Verlauf mit Wasser speist. Wir sid nun auf dem "Lykischen Weg" (Likya Yolou 2.01) und folgen ihm, bis wir zur Brücke über der Sarpdere Bach auf 545m Höhe kommen. Bei der Weggabelung kurz vor Erreichen des Baches verlassen wir den Lykischen Weg nach links.

From the parking lot (for entry) we now continue down the slope and after about 550m we come to the bridge over the Sarpdere. Now we walk down the right bank of the stream and after about 200m we come to the beginning of the gorge - entry. If we only have 1 car at our disposal, we can follow the route on foot as described. However, there is also the option of taking the "Lycian Way" to the entry point. To do this, we continue from the car on the tarred road in the direction of Faralya. After 700m we come to the "Gül Market" (righthand side). A few meters before we leave the road and follow the sign "Watermill Hotel" uphill to the left. We pass the watermill (on the righthand side) and then cross the stream that feeds the Butterfly Canyon. We are now on the "Lycian Way" (Likya Yolou 2.01) and follow it until we reach the bridge over the Sarpdere stream at an altitude of 545m. At the fork in the path shortly before reaching the stream, we leave the Lycian Way to the left.
