Man verlässt die Autobahn N-1 Lausanne - Genf bei Nyon am Genfersee und nimmt die Straße in Richtung Les Rousses, die sich in nordwestlicher Richtung den Berg hinaufwindet. Nach 20 km trifft sie auf die N-5, die bald darauf (2,5 km) Les Rousses erreicht. Weiter geht die Fahrt über Morez und Morbier nach St. Laurant, wo die N-5 in nördlicher Richtung abknickt (ab Les Rousses 20,5 km). Wir folgen ihr noch weitere 10 km, bis wir rechts auf die D-16 in Richtung Chaux-des-Crotenay abbiegen. Etwa 1,5 km nach dieser Ortschaft geht es links ab (D-127el) in Richtung Les Planches-en-Montagne.
Bei der Brücke (über die Saine) vor der Ortschaft stellen wir das Auto ab (Parkplatz mit Hinweistafeln). Man kann den Canyon auch von Yverdon am Süwestende des Lac de Neuchatel anfahren.
Leave the N-1 Lausanne - Geneva highway at Nyon on Lake Geneva and take the road towards Les Rousses, which winds up the mountain in a north-westerly direction. After 20 km, it meets the N-5, which soon reaches Les Rousses (2.5 km). The route continues via Morez and Morbier to St. Laurant, where the N-5 bends to the north (20.5 km from Les Rousses). We follow it for another 10 km until we turn right onto the D-16 towards Chaux-des-Crotenay. About 1.5 km after this village, turn left (D-127el) towards Les Planches-en-Montagne.
Leave the car at the bridge (over the Saine) before the village (parking lot with signs). The canyon can also be reached from Yverdon at the south-western end of Lac de Neuchatel.

Durch die parkartigen Anlagen gehen wir am Südwestrand der Schlucht flussaufwärts. Nach etwa 250 m kommt man zu einem Aussichtspunkt, von dem man die Schlucht in beiden Richtungen gut einsehen kann. Nach weiteren 150 m kommt man an ein Wehr mit E-Werk. Auf diesem quert man in Richtung anderes Ufer. Noch vor dem Überqueren des letzten Bachlaufes steigt man nach links auf eine ummauerte "Halbinsel" und von da rechts ins Flussbett ab.
Das u.g. Buch weist einen anderen Einstieg aus - ca. 30 m unterhalb des Wehres von der orographisch rechten Seite 15 m abseilen.
We walk upstream through the park-like grounds on the south-western edge of the canyon. After about 250 m, you come to a viewpoint from which you have a good view of the canyon in both directions. After another 150 m you come to a dam with a power station. Cross this towards the other bank. Before crossing the last stream, turn left onto a walled "peninsula" and from there turn right into the river bed.
The book mentioned below indicates a different entry - rappel approx. 30 m below the dam from the orographic right side for 15 m.

Enge und düstere Waldschlucht, die zu Beginn einige Sprungmöglichkeiten eröffnet. Auch bei der 30-m-Abseilstelle kann man nach ca. 13 m auf einem Absatz ausseilen und von da abklettern bzw. die letzten 5 m springen.
In der Nähe 2 weitere Canyons (Bief de la Ruine und Gorges de Malvaux).
