Auf der A 14 die Adria entlang, vorbei an Cattolica, Pesaro, Fano und Senigallia. Bei der Ausfahrt Ancona Nord die A 14 verlassen und auf die SS 76. Nach 42 Kilometern dann abbiegen, westwärts 15 km nach Sassoferrato. Von hier auf der SS 360 9,5 km in Richtung Scheggia. Nun links (südwärts) abbiegen in Richtung Perticano, Pascelupo. Wenige hundert Meter vor Pascelupo links abbiegen auf das Sträßchen zum Eremo di Montecucco. Nach etwa 500 m kommt links neben der Straße eine Parkfläche für etwa 5 Autos. Hier parken.
Take the A 14 along the Adriatic, passing Cattolica, Pesaro, Fano and Senigallia. At the Ancona Nord exit, leave the A 14 and take the SS 76, then after 42 kilometers turn west for 15 km to Sassoferrato. From here on the SS 360 9.5 km in the direction of Scheggia. Vom Parkplatz wenige Meter die Straße weiter und bei der gerodeten Waldfläche den Rio Freddo in einer Furt durchqueren. (Höhe etwa 440 m). Etwas mühselig erkennt man in dem gerodeten Wald den Wanderweg Nr. 3, der in der Folge auf Serpentinen den Berg hinaufzieht. Nach einiger Zeit trifft er auf einen Fahrweg, wo man sich rechts hält und immer leicht ansteigend weiter geht. Man erreicht in etwa 750 m Höhe einen Bergrücken (bis dahin ca. 50 Min.), wo der markierte Wanderweg Nr. 19 rechts vom Sentiero Nr. 3 abzweigt. Man folgt dem nun abfallenden Weg Nr. 19 und erreicht so das Bachbett des Rio Freddo zwischen dessen oberen und unteren Teil.
Hinweis: Will man auch den oberen Teil begehen (höchster Abseiler hier 18m), so bleibt man an der Abzweigung des Sentiero Nr. 19 auf dem Weg Nr. 3 , der hinaufzieht zum Passo Porraia (931 m). Hier biegt man auf den Sentiero Nr. 18 ab und kommt in westlicher Richtung hinunter zum Rio Freddo (Einstieg auf 920 m).Auch wenn man 2 Autos zur Verfügung hat, ist dies zeitsparender und möglicherweise angenehmer als die andernorts (z.B. in Gole & Canyons 1 - Nr. 11) beschriebene Autoumsetzung über eine Distanz von 25 km sowie den anschließenden Zustieg von 40 Min., der auch zu dem Einstiegspunkt (920 m) führt.
From the parking lot, follow the road for a few meters and cross the Rio Freddo in a ford at the cleared forest area. (altitude about 440 m).
