Entweder von Ventimiglia auf der SS 20 in Richtung Breil-sur-Roya, Tende, Cuneo und nach etwa 12 km, unmittelbar nach einem langen Tunnel rechts abbiegen in Richtung Airole oder von Norden (Breil-sur-Roya) kommend nach 13 km (ab Breil) unmittelbar vor dem Tunnel und der Straßenbrücke über die Roya links abbiegen in Richtung Airole. Wir fahren jedoch nicht bei den ersten Häusern links hinauf in die Ortschaft, sondern geradeaus weiter auf der alten SS 20 und kommen (zuerst links Trafo-Station(?), dann eine - idR offene - Schranke) etwa gut 1,5 km nach dem Abbiegen von der neuen SS 20 zu der Straßenbrücke über "unseren" Bach. Direkt dahinter die Eisenbahnbrücke. Hier stellen wir an geeigneter Stelle das Auto ab. Schranke gibt es nicht mehr. Sackgassenschild ignorieren. Bis zum Parkplatz kommt man durch. Weiter haben wir nicht geschaut. 2 Parkplätze für Autos sind am Rand der Straße.
Wenn man mit einem Wohnmobil o.ä. anreist, kann man vorn an der Hauptstraße parken.
Either from Ventimiglia on the SS 20 towards Breil-sur-Roya, Tende, Cuneo and after about 12 km, immediately after a long tunnel, turn right towards Airole or coming from the north (Breil-sur-Roya) after 13 km (from Breil) immediately before the tunnel and the road bridge over the Roya, turn left towards Airole. However, we do not turn left at the first houses up into the village, but continue straight ahead on the old SS 20 and come (first left transformer station(?), then a - usually open - barrier) about 1.5 km after turning off the new SS 20 to the road bridge over "our" stream. Directly behind it is the railroad bridge. Here we park the car in a suitable place. There is no longer a barrier. Ignore the dead end sign. You can get through to the parking lot. We didn't look any further. There are 2 parking spaces for cars at the side of the road.
If you arrive with a camper van or similar, you can park at the front on the main road.

In der Karte ab Airole rot markiert "2": Wieder auf der Straße zurück; direkt nach der Trafo-Station die kleine Straße rechts hinauf bis zum zentralen Platz (Kirche links und Brunnen in der Mitte) in Airole. Von hier geht es in östlicher Richtung die Straße mit den treppenartigen flachen Stufen hinauf (Wegweiser "Rocchetta" und "Basse d'Abellio"). Wir sind nun auf dem "Sentiero 1" auf der Internetkarte. Alsbald gehen wir bei einer ersten Verzeigung rechts, 10 Min. später bei einer weiteren Verzweigung links, immer den weiß-roten Markierungen folgend.
Der Weg läuft nun in Richtung OSO auf das Vall Para zu, biegt dann in östliche Richtung und nach einigen hundert Metern hoch über dem Valle Para kommen wir zum Torrente Careghin, wo wir einsteigen.

From here, head east up the road with the flat steps (signposted "Rocchetta" and "Basse d'Abellio"). We are now on "Sentiero 1" on the Internet map. Eigentlich ein reiner "Kinder"-Canyon, um sich an's Canyoning zu gewöhnen. Das Valle Para besitzt nicht die Attraktivität des Audin, ist aber als Gesamtpaket (mit Landschaft) etwas besser als der nördlich benachbarte Montixi. Meist geringer Wasserdurchsatz, aber Wasser klar. Einige Sprünge bis 7m möglich. Zum Ende des Sommers sind die letzten Meter trocken.
Wasserstand könnte vom Ausstieg aus geprüft werden.
Keine offensichtlichen Notausstiege, man kommt aber seitlich raus.
Actually a pure "children's" canyon to get used to canyoning. Valle Para is not as attractive as Audin, but is a slightly better overall package (including scenic) than the neighboring Montixi to the north. Mostly low water flow, but clear water. Some jumps up to 7m possible. At the exit of the summer, the last meters are dry.
Water level could be checked from the exit.
No obvious emergency exits, but you can get out sideways.

The path to the start cannot be missed. The rockfall is very well roped, so no problems there. We jumped everything except one rappel. Long river walk at the end, but as beautiful as Audin.

Viel sprinbar zum Rutschen zu griffig. Für Anfänger bestens geeignet. Allerdings etwas Ausdauer erforderlich.
