From the prominent road junction on the northeastern shore of Lago di Como, take the SS 38 up the Valtellina (valley of the Adda) towards Sondrio. After 15 km we pass the center of Morbegno. After another 6.8 km, and immediately after crossing the Adda, we turn left onto the SS 404, which, after passing through the village of Masino, takes us into Val Masino (towards Cataeggio, San Martino). We continue until the end of the valley near San Martino. \From here we continue into the Val di Mello (northeast direction). After 2 km (from San Martino) you reach a parking lot where you leave your car.\nAt certain times, especially in the summer season, you are not allowed to go up with your own vehicle, but are required to take a shuttle bus.\nAlso on foot the approach from San Martino (1900 m) is no problem.

From the parking lot, go up for about 3 km in Val di Mello until the end of the valley and continue up to Alpe Pioda. When you reach the meadows, turn right (south) down to the streambed, where you enter near a wooden bridge.

Where the torrent comes down from the right through the Val Torrone, exit to the right up to the approach path and return to the car along it.
