Summary:
Descent to be repeated only for an equipment exercise, interesting only after heavy rains that activate the waterfalls.
Access:
Downstream:
After Ormea, head up the valley and, before reaching the turnoff for Val Tanarello, park your car in a widening of the road—on the river side—just beyond the Rio Borgosozzo. From here, you can see the gorge, hidden by vegetation.
Upstream:
From the turnoff for Ponte di Nava, continue toward the hill and shortly after, turn right toward the Madonna dei Cancelli. Once you reach the chapel, you can park or drive past it, continuing straight on the dirt road and stopping a little further on, near a small fork in the woods where you can turn around.
Approach ():
From the forest, continue along the road and take a clear path that climbs to the top of the prominent rocky ridges. Before reaching a sheer rock from which you can see the ditch on the right, the trail re-enters the forest and quickly crosses the beginning of the ditch.
