Location of Bayarcal Take the A-7 to junction 448, then follow the N340 towards Benahadux. At the first roundabout, take the third exit onto the A348 towards Fondón. Location of the Fuente del Zarzal, Arroyo Anchuelo, Palancón Sup and Palancón Inf ravines Cross it and continue towards Laujar; at the exit, take the junction on the right onto the AL-5402 towards Paterna. Continue to Bayárcal and, after passing through the village, you’ll come to two hairpin bends; at the third one, which curves to the right, a track leads straight ahead. Leave your return car here. Continue up the road and, at the Rosario bridge, leave your access car.

After the dam, where almost the entire flow is diverted, we enter a magnificent, water-filled section that will delight everyone. Small ledges and abseils which, with sufficient water flow, will keep us entertained for quite a while. When the gorge opens out, the ravine becomes less interesting; we still have to contend with the vegetation and a couple more abseils.

After the final abseil, look for a path on the left, following a black irrigation hose. This path leads to the track where we left the car
