We’ll need to get to Santa Maria de Besora. To do this, take the C17 towards Ripoll as far as St Quirze de Besora, where we’ll turn off onto the B5227 towards Santa Maria de Besora. Here, we’ll turn left towards Llaers-Ripoll and follow this concrete track to the river. We’ll park the return car – or our only car, if we only have one – at the bridge. With the car we’ll use for the return journey, we’ll head back to Santa María and follow the road towards Vidrà; at kilometre marker 9, we’ll turn left onto the track leading to the Sant Jaume chapel. We can park there, at Coll de Barreto, or continue along the track that climbs to the left before the chapel and leads us to Milany. All tracks in the area are closed to traffic except for local residents and service vehicles (Agnes G.)

With just one car, we’ll look for a path on the left bank of the river which takes us up to a small track along which we’ll follow the river upstream; we’ll pass the Torrent de Massals and, before the Molinot waterfall, cross the river and head up the Torrent de Burbau to another track which we’ll take to the left, before turning right and continuing up this stream towards El Burbau. From Burbau, we’ll follow a path heading north-east to join the Milany track; once there, simply follow the track to the river. With two cars, from the chapel we’ll follow the track to the river.
