Man verlässt die Autobahn A10 an der Mautstelle Genua Voltri. Man fährt auf die SS1 Aurelia in Richtung Savona, durchquert den gesamten Ortsteil Voltri und biegt am Ende, vor der Brücke über den Bach Cerusa, rechts in Richtung Fabbriche ab. Die Straße führt einige Kilometer lang ins Tal hinein. In Fabbriche angekommen, fährt man weiter bis zum Weiler Fiorino. Kurz vor dem Platz biegt man links auf eine Brücke ab, die zum kleinen Friedhof führt.

Exit the A10 highway at the Genoa Voltri toll plaza. Take the SS1 Aurelia toward Savona, drive through the entire Voltri district, and at the exit—before the bridge over the Cerusa stream—turn right toward Fabbriche. The road leads into the valley for a few kilometers. Once you arrive in Fabbriche, continue on to the hamlet of Fiorino. Just before the square, turn left onto a bridge that leads to the small cemetery.

Anmarsch: Vom Friedhof aus folgt man dem mit einem roten Rhombus markierten Weg, der über die alte Steinbrücke nach Case Soggi führt. Alternativ kann man der asphaltierten Straße (durch eine Schranke gesperrt) bis zum Weiler folgen. Man folgt der Straße, die in einem weiten Bogen zu den Häusern führt (450 m Höhe). Hinter den Häusern betritt man (das Tor wieder schließen!) eine eingezäunte Weide, die man durchquert, bis man auf ein zweites Tor stößt. Man nimmt rechts den markierten Weg (verblasste rote Raute), der auf halber Höhe in Richtung Norden ansteigt und die Wasserscheide zwischen dem Tal des Rio Secco und dem Val Cerusa umgeht. Kurz hinter der 500-Meter-Marke biegt man nach links ab und lässt einen Pfad links liegen, der in der Ebene weiterführt. Man steigt noch einige Minuten weiter hinauf, bis man den Fuß einer Felswand erreicht. Von hier aus führt der Weg weiter auf halber Höhe über verschiedene Bergrücken bis zu den Ruinen von Case Spravè. Von dort aus nimmt man einen Pfad auf der rechten Seite, der steil hinabführt, bis man auf etwa 550 m Höhe den Rio Gardonea, den Hauptfluss des Einzugsgebiets, überquert.

Approach: From the cemetery, follow the trail marked with a red rhombus, which leads over the old stone bridge to Case Soggi. Alternatively, you can follow the paved road (blocked by a gate) to the hamlet. Follow the road, which curves in a wide arc toward the houses (elevation 450 m). Behind the houses, enter (be sure to close the gate behind you!) a fenced pasture and cross it until you reach a second gate. Take the marked trail on the right (faded red diamond), which ascends halfway up the slope toward the north and bypasses the watershed between the Rio Secco valley and Val Cerusa. Shortly past the 500-meter mark, turn left and pass a trail on your left that continues across the plain. Continue along the path for a few more minutes until you reach the base of a rock face. From here, the path continues at mid-slope elevation over various ridges to the ruins of Case Spravè. From there, take a trail on the right that descends steeply until you cross the Rio Gardonea—the main river of the watershed—at an elevation of about 550 meters.

Anfahrt zum Rio dell’Orso: Die erste Engstelle des Gardonea befindet sich nach einem kurzen horizontalen Abschnitt, ist jedoch nicht besonders interessant. Vor der zweiten Engstelle trifft man auf den Zusammenfluss mit dem Rio dell'Orso. Da man nun schon einmal hier ist, lohnt es sich, ein paar Meter auf den Spuren hinaufzusteigen, die zum Gipfel der letzten Engstelle des Rio dell'Orso führen: zwei schöne Abseilstellen und ein kleiner Sprung bringen einen zurück in den Gardonea. Anmerkungen: 1) Der Bach wurde auch in seinem Oberlauf ausgehend vom Faiallo-Pass erkundet, ist jedoch aus canyoningtechnischer Sicht nicht von Interesse. 2) Wenn man die Rückwege meidet, kann man entlang des Gardonea und anschließend im Cerusa bis zur Wiederöffnung des Tals kurz vor Fiorino nach Sprüngen und Rutschstellen suchen (man steigt am linken Ufer aus und schließt sich dort wieder dem normalen Rückweg an).

Approach to the Rio dell’Orso: The first narrows of the Gardonea are located after a short horizontal part, but they aren’t particularly interesting. Before the second narrows, you’ll come to the confluence with the Rio dell’Orso. Since you’re already here, it’s worth climbing a few meters up the tracks that lead to the top of the Rio dell’Orso’s final gorge: two nice rappels and a small jump will bring you back to the Gardonea. Notes: 1) The stream was also explored in its upper reaches starting from the Faiallo mountain pass, but it is not of interest from a canyoning perspective. 2) If you avoid the return paths, you can look for jumps and slides along the Gardonea and then in the Cerusa until the valley reopens just before Fiorino (you exit on the left bank and rejoin the normal return path there).

Rückweg: Am Zusammenfluss mit dem Rio del Dente angekommen, folgt man den Wegspuren am rechten Ufer und gelangt so zum Zusammenfluss mit dem Rio delle Gave. Von hier aus wechselt der Weg auf das linke Ufer und verläuft (abgesehen von einem kurzen Abschnitt bergab) auf halber Höhe weiter, bis er wieder auf den Hinweg trifft; dabei kommt man an einigen Bauernhäusern vorbei.

Return trip: Once you reach the confluence with the Rio del Dente, follow the trail on the right bank to reach the confluence with the Rio delle Gave. From here, the trail crosses to the left bank and continues at mid-elevation (except for a short downhill part) until it rejoins the outbound trail; along the way, you’ll pass several farmhouses.
