Von Bierge, am Südrand der Sierra de Guara, in Richtung Rodellar fahren. Nach 9,7 km erreicht man ein Schild rechts der Straße, das auf den Barranco Fondo hinweist. Hier fahren wir rechts ab auf eine Piste. Etwa 700 m weiter erreichen wir eine aussichtsreiche Hochfläche, wo wir das Auto abstellen.
From Bierge, on the southern edge of the Sierra de Guara, head towards Rodellar. After 9.7 km, we reach a sign on the right of the road that indicates Barranco Fondo. Here we turn right onto a dirt road. About 700 m further on, we reach a plateau with a great view, where we park the car.

Der Canyon beginnt auf dem Absatz, der unterhalb der Fläche liegt, wo wir das Auto abgestellt haben. Um diesen Absatz zu erreichen, gehen wir weglos an der Hangkante links (Richtung NO) leicht abwärts, bis wir rechts auf den besagten Absatz einbiegen können. Auf diesem Absatz nun wieder in südlicher Richtung. Die ersten beiden Rinnen, die nun links hinabziehen sind Äste des Barranco Estrecho, die nächste Rinne der Barranco Fontaneta. Das Gelände ist unübersichtlich, also etwas Orientierungs- und Spür-Sinn gefragt. Beide Canyons münden in den Rio Isuala (am Beginn der Balcés Estrechos). Wir gehen nun zum Einstieg in den Fontaneta.
The canyon begins on the ledge below the area where we left the car. In order to reach this ledge, we go without a path along the edge of the slope on the left (direction NE) slightly downhill until we can turn right onto the said ledge. On this ledge now again in southern direction. The first two chutes that now descend on the left are branches of Barranco Estrecho, the next chute is Barranco Fontaneta. The terrain is confusing, so some sense of orientation and tracking is required. Both canyons flow into the Rio Isuala (at the beginning of the Balcés Estrechos). We now go to the entry of the Fontaneta.

Wir erreichen den Rio Isuala (Balcés - Ende der Oscuros, Beginn der Estrechos de Balcés). Hier nehmen wir, nach etwa 30 m den Rio Isuala flussauf. links hinauf den Weg, den man auch nach Abschluss des Balcés Oscuros in nördlicher Richtung hinaufsteigt. Wir kommen zur Piste und folgen dieser nach links zum Auto. Auch durch den Bco. Estrecho kann man wieder hinaufsteigen zum Ausgangspunkt auf der Rampe. Man biegt dazu am Zusammenfluss der beiden Canyons links ab und geht nicht durch den Tranco Las Olas hinaus zum Rio Isuala.
We reach the Rio Isuala (Balcés - exit of the Oscuros, beginning of the Estrechos de Balcés). Here we take, after about 30 m upstream the Rio Isuala. left up the path that one also climbs after the conclusion of the Balcés Oscuros in a northerly direction. We come to the dirt road and follow it to the left to the car. Also through the Bco. Estrecho you can go back up to the starting point on the ramp. To do this, turn left at the confluence of the two canyons and do not go out through Tranco Las Olas to Rio Isuala.
