Von Sixt Fer a Cheval fährt man gute 1,3 km entlang der Giffre in Richtung Cirque du Fer a Cheval. Dann nimmt man den Abzweiger nach "Le Crot" / "Echarny" und folgt der schmalen, asphaltierten Straße bis zum Einstiegsparkpatz.

Direkt am Parkplatz startet eine Forstpiste, die anfangs geradeaus, später in Schlangenlinien nach oben führt. Sie verfügt zu Beginn über ein paar Abkürzungen, die aber nach kurzer Zeit wieder auf den Hauptweg zurück führen. Nach zwei Serpentinen auf einem freien Stück ohne Baumbestand folgen zwei weitere enge Kehren im Wald. An der dritten Kehre startet ein schmaler Pfad, der anfangs über ein manchmal extrem rutschiges Bachbett führt. Dieser Pfad führt schnell zum Einstieg des Salvadon Canyons.

A forest trail starts directly at the parking lot, which leads straight ahead at the beginning and later upwards in serpentines. It has a few shortcuts at the beginning, but these lead back to the main trail after a short time. After two hairpin bends on an open section without trees, there are two more narrow hairpin bends in the forest. A narrow path starts at the third hairpin bend, which initially leads over a sometimes extremely slippery streambed. This path quickly leads to the entry of Salvadon Canyon.

Nachdem man zwischen den ersten Abseilstellen das Seil noch wieder im Rucksack verstauen musste, bleibt es danach bis auf wenige Ausnahmen an der frischen Luft. Einige Engstellen werden bei höherem Wasserstand schnell gefährlich, Sprünge und Rutschen muss man suchen. Bei gutem Wetter bieten sich tolle Panoramen auf die Berge.

Nach den letzten kurzen Abbrüchen, wenn sich das Bachbett abflacht, steigt man rechts in den Wald aus. Nach 100 Metern erreicht man eine Wiese, die man bis zu einer Trekkerspur überquert. Dieser folgt man nach rechts (oben bleiben). Sie führt in wenigen Minuten zum Parkplatz.
