Von der Stadt Basse-Terre auf der gleichnamigen westlichen Inselhälfte von Guadeloupe geht es auf der Küstenstraße 42 km (ab Flugplatz Basse-Terre) nordwärts (über die Ortschaften Vieux-Habitants, Bouillante und Pointe-Noire), bis wir die Ortschaft Ferry an der Anse (Ferry = Strand) erreichen. Wir fahren weiter in nördlicher Richtung auf der N 2 und biegen nach etwa 2 km rechts ab auf eine kleine Teerstraße, die in östlicher Richtung in's Landesinnere führt. Die Straße führt bergauf und verzweigt sich nach etwa 700 m. Wir nehmen zum Umsetzen der Fahrzeuge zunächst die nach rechts führende Straße und erreichen auf dieser in östlicher Richtung nach rund 1200 m einen größeren Abstellplatz für unser Auto für den Ausstieg. Mit dem zweiten Auto wieder zurück zur Verzweigung und hier in spitzem Winkel rechts aufwärts. Etwa 2200 m ab Verzweigung kommen wir auf den höchsten Punkt der Straße (Sommet du Morne Mazeau, 615 m ü.NN), bevor sie in rechten Winkel nach links wieder abfällt. Hier sehen wir links eine seismogafische Anlage, rechts der Straße Schautafeln zu Beginn eines hier abgehenden Fußweges. Wir müssen aber mit dem Auto wieder rund 250 m zurück und sehen dann rechterhand eine kleine Parkbucht. Hier stellen wir unser Fahrzeug für den Zustieg ab.

From the town of Basse-Terre on the western half of the island of Guadeloupe of the same name, we head north on the coastal road for 42 km (from Basse-Terre airport) (via the villages of Vieux-Habitants, Bouillante and Pointe-Noire) until we reach the village of Ferry on the Anse (Ferry = beach). We continue north on the N 2 and after about 2 km turn right onto a small tarred road that leads east inland. The road leads uphill and branches off after about 700 m. To transfer the vehicles, we first take the road to the right and after about 1200 m we reach a larger parking area for our car for the exit. Take the second car back to the junction and turn right uphill at a sharp angle. About 2200 m from the junction, we reach the highest point of the road (Sommet du Morne Mazeau, 615 m above sea level) before it descends again at a right angle to the left. Here we can see a seismological site on the left and information boards at the start of a footpath to the right of the road. However, we have to drive back about 250 m and then see a small parking bay on the righthand side. We park our vehicle here for access.

Ziemlich genau gegenüber der Parkbucht verschwindet ein unscheinbarer Pfad im Wald. Diesem folgen wir in grob südlicher Richtung. Er wechselt zu Beginn mehrmals die Richtung, führt zunächst leicht, später steil abfallend hinunter zum Bach. Auf der Karte verläuft der Pfad in etwa auf der grün markierten Grenze des Nationalparks.

Almost exactly opposite the parking bay, an inconspicuous path disappears into the forest. We follow it in a roughly southerly direction. It changes direction several times at the beginning, leads at first slightly, later steeply descending down to the stream. On the map the path runs approximately on the green marked border of the national park.
