Von Moggio Udinese am orogr. rechten Fella Ufer bis vor Campiolo, dort der oberen Straße bis zum einer großen, asphaltierten Parkmöglichkeit auf der linken Straßenseite folgen. Man könnte auch näher am Abstiegssteig parken, diese Parkplätze sollten aber für die Bewohner von Stavoli freigehalten werden.

From Moggio Udinese on the orographic right bank of the Fella to before Campiolo, follow the upper road to a large, asphalted parking lot on the left side of the road. You could also park closer to the descent path, but these parking spaces should be kept free for the residents of Stavoli.

Kurz auf der Straße bis ein guter Steig bergab zum Torrente Glagno führt. Im Tal flußaufwärts, über die Brücke und mit vielen Kehren hinauf nach Stavoli, einem Ort ohne Straßenanbindung. Durch den Ort absteigen, an mehreren Wachbecken vorbei bis man einen Seitenbach vom Rio Mulino überquert, hier auf anfangs deutlichen Steig zu einer verfallenen Mühle am Rio Mulino absteigen. Im Bachbett oder rechts davon bis zur ersten Abseilstelle absteigen. Will man nur den Variola begehen, kann man den Weg am rechten Ufer bis zu Variola begehen, den man oberhalb einer kleinen Klamm erreicht.

Shortly on the road until a good path leads downhill to Torrente Glagno. In the valley upstream, over the bridge and with many hairpin bends up to Stavoli, a village without road access. Descend through the village, past several guard basins until you cross a side stream of the Rio Mulino, descend here on a path that is clear at first to a dilapidated mill on the Rio Mulino. Descend in the streambed or to the right of it to the first abseil point. If you only want to walk the Variola, you can take the path on the right bank to Variola, which you reach above a small gorge.

Rio Mulino: Waldschlucht mit drei Abseilern bis 30m, beim letzten Abseiler über das große Becken bis zum Torrente Variola absteigen. Torrente Variola: Großschlucht mit ein paar schönen Becken. 2 Abseiler (1.5m von Klemmblock rechts, 8m von Haken links). Größtenteils Wandern in schöner Umgebung. Nach der letzten Engstelle öffnet sich die Schlucht und von rechts kommt ein Bach mit Schotterbett rein. Hier könnte man links auf einen Weg aussteigen (2 gesicherte Passagen) Ansonsten weiter im Bachbett absteigen und bis nach dem Eisenbahntunnel im Glagno bleiben (ein paar Sprünge möglich)

Rio Mulino: forest gorge with three rappels up to 30m, on the last rappel descend via the large basin to Torrente Variola. Torrente Variola: Great canyon with a few beautiful pools. 2 rappels (1.5m from clamping block on the right, 8m from anchor on the left). Mostly hiking in beautiful surroundings. After the last narrow section, the canyon opens up and a stream with a gravel bed comes in from the right. Here you can exit to the left onto a path (2 secured passages) Otherwise continue down the streambed and stay in the glagno until after the railroad tunnel (a few jumps possible).

Zum Wanderweg am linken Ufer aufsteigen und zurück zum Auto aufsteigen.

Climb up to the hiking trail on the left bank and climb back to the car.
