Access: ➜
From Ollioules, take the N8 toward Le Beausset. In Sainte-Anne d’Evenos, turn right at the traffic light toward the medieval village of Evenos and Le Broussan on the D462. At the fork in the village of Evenos, stay on the road toward Le Broussan on the D62 and continue for 950 meters until you find a small parking lot on the left that fits two to three vehicles. “Please note: this is not the St. Martin parking lot.” You can also use the St. Martin parking lot, which is more convenient and shaded, but you’ll then have to walk a bit further along the road.
Approach (40 min): ➜
From the parking lot, follow the road toward Broussan for 100 meters. At the bend, behind the guardrail, you’ll see a hiking trail marked with blue dots. Follow this trail to the base of the canyon (Caution: the last 200 meters are quite steep and slippery on rocky and dirt surfaces. Danger!!). Once you reach the Destel, walk up the canyon, turning left as you go. Just before the water basins, a path on the right leads uphill, overlooks the canyon, and takes you to the starting point of the descent route.
Tour (1 h 30): ➜
After an initial rappel and a 2-meter jump, you reach a pool of standing water, which you can bypass on the right using a handrail. Depending on the condition of the next pool, you can cross it (if dry) or bypass it on the right (5-meter climb, handrail, 5-meter rappel). Another 5-meter abseil takes us over the last pool, which can be bypassed on the left by attaching a handrail. Several zip lines are possible (anchors available; bring longer ropes). A pleasant and very interesting setting for rope exercises (installing handrails). Ideal in winter (much more pleasant than training on a rock face).
Return (30 min): ➜
Follow the same route as on the way there.
